Inactive Byuu / byuu_nyan / setsunakun0 / Near / David Ginder - "Non-binary" furry programmer who wrote a Super Nintendo emulator, tried to blackmail Null into removing his thread, and is probably actually dead lol

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Unlike other people here who have threads, it's still not too late to turn his life around. The cyber security industry will hire people with criminal records, which is a big no-no in other high-paying fields. He might be able to score diversity points and he has a good résumé if he puts one together. :optimistic:

The SM64 community is in the process of going through and attempting to decompile the entire codebase. It helps that MIPS is very reasonable and there's quite a bit of documentation.

I know a few people involved in implementing old consoles in FPGAs, and they're brilliant people yet very normal to talk to. I hope people don't get a bad view of assembly programmers based on a few crazies.
The MIPS CPU is actually the easy part, besides other MIPS CPUs being used in other consoles, arcade boards, computers, and more, other R4000 variants were used in multiple SGI workstations and the PSP.

The hard part is the GPU. More talented developers would write "microcode" the GPU could load, and this didn't emulate well with the whole "high level" approach that most emulators and plugins took. Games like Rogue Squadron or Battle for Naboo were extremely notorious for not working on n64 emulators for that reason.

His autistic devotion to perfect accuracy and doing things differently than other emulator developers was odd, but I don't think anyone saw this coming. His complaining that he has no useful skills except programming is hilarious, too, considering how many people would kill to get his kind of programming skill. Are there any other people in the emulator community prone to drama like this?

As always there are a few, there is even a thread of one group here, the scene is very harsh with wannabes and pretenders, if you write shitty code and only screech like a idiot on twitter then you get the boot

Now that i remember his avatar in twitter looked familiar then i realized it was Gabriel from Summon Night: Swordcraft story 2, i totally forgot about that game

It figures that he lives in Columbus. The city is a huge Weeb magnet. Along with OSU, Columbus has a sizable Japanese community that settled in suburbs like Dublin when Honda managers and their families moved there to open the Marysville Honda plant in the late 70's. There is a Japanese supermarket, restaurants, shops that sell imported untranslated Manga, video games, dvds and cds; AKA the kind of shit that attracts turbospergs like insects to a porch light.

Damn, I didn't know that Byuu was a lolcow.
I followed his accounts a while back but for a while, I noticed the strange furry messages that began slowly cropping up and didn't really question it, considering that practically almost everyone on Twitter nowadays loves to praise furries (even zoophiles). Didn't knew the rabbit hole regarding his drama got THIS deep.
Looking at his page now, it appears Byuu has two rambling discussions and only those two: technology and animals.

He moved to Japan for work, so be sure to add weeaboo to his description.

archive.is is being exceptional with Cloudflare so no archive link.

Stop by /emugen/ sometime, we've been laughing at his antics for years.
Half the emulation scene is full of people even more degenerate than him too, it really needs its own community watch thread.
On second thought if you enjoy using emulators, don't.

No no, I mean lots of emulator projects are full of furries and troons, often both.
It's tragic because you have these actually capable and bright people just getting sucked into these woke left Twitter cults and ruined with this degeneracy.
This isn't 100% related but I've seen this in real life too. At family reunions, I have a relative that isn't genetically related to me that went transgender. And the last time I talked to that guy, he said that he was trying to make his own GBA emulator, how he didn't like the way old games looked and how Celeste was amazing. So the guy fits the stereotype to a T.

One who I recall being particularly nutty is melonDS developer StapleButter, who now goes by Arisotura. I think most of his crazier moments were on his old Twitter account, which it seems he deleted at some point. The Wayback Machine grabbed some of his tweets as well as his timeline from 2017. Could be confusing him with someone else in the emulation scene though, as you mentioned there's plenty of degenerates in it (thankfully MAME seems relatively free from them).

MAME has them too. They have a self-admitted autistic furfag named Ryan Holtz / Mooglyguy.
They've also infected Dolphin, Citra, Yuzu, mGBA, Mednafen, melonDS, you name it.
Then there's the craziest guy in emulation who runs RetroArch, Daniel de Matteis / Squarepusher / TwinAphex.
If you want to see how far the degeneracy goes, definitely check out /emugen/ on /vg/

Forgot about Ryan, the former Minecraft developer. Didn't know he was a furfag but I do recall him writing some TDS laden tweets around the 2016 elections.
But yeah, the emulation scene definitely has enough crazies and autistic drama at this point to warrant a Community Watch thread.
