The newest thing is “Chiari 0” which is the biggest joke I’ve ever heard. Basically everyone who has been chasing an invasive brain surgery but IT CANT BE SEEN ON MY MRI FOR SOME REASON can weasel a few well known neurosurgeons who will happily take their money and crack open their skull.

But yes REAL true Chiari is seen on imaging- some people are symptomatic and others aren’t. Some surgeons believe a minimum herniation is needed to be symptomatic (ie 4mm+) while others say any herniation can be. It is quite difficult to PROVE if said symptoms are coming from Chiari (biggest is severe headache, although can sometimes cause dysautonomia and or swallowing issues) bc the symptoms can have so many other root causes. If herniation isn’t significant, it ends up being a situation such as this: “well we have ruled out/tried XYZ so decompression would be next step.” However it’s widely known who to go to in the US if you want a Chiari dx and surgery as your 1st step- not last.

Biologics are insanely expensive so between the cost of the drug and the infusion center it could easily be $20k without insurance coverage.

also I do not for the life of me understand why someone would place their child for adoption with an adoptive mother with CF. Mary Frey's sister had a newborn placed with her. that right there tells me the adoption industry is corrupt. and that when these couples present their profiles they can omit stuff. at least Mary outright articulates that she recognizes it would be selfish / to adopt or have a kid.( that reminds me of Jaq's adoption plans - if they let her adopt that would definitively prove the adoption industry is corrupt.)

I have never even heard about the sister. her daughter is courting Anna Duggar's brother. That is what she called him for a period of time.
