Or I have this crazy idea, maybe Ciel could recognize that his gender is just recorded biological fact that doesn’t need dictate how he dresses, who he wants to date or what interests he has? Gender roles are nowadays mostly expectations formed by group trends and everyone recognize that not everyone fit in them nor are they supposed to. It’s just gives you a tool to more easily guess what’s going on or what could work, like offering a bored boy a super hero comic before a romance manga. Ciel can be as gender nonconformist as he wants to be without it having anything do with his gender. Of course he will get some feedback from others and not all of it will be positive but that’s just life.

The drawings look like hot garbage in the old version. But there were also some quirks that made them look older, despite being just cartoonish drawings. Sophie's bumped up the saturation, improved line quality, and stopped making those grotesque lines around the characters' eyes. Faces look younger and more feminine when there's less and less detail drawn on them.
Their art still sucks, though.

Ugh. What irritates me about this cartoon is the whole "you don't have to be sure to transition -- you never know unless you try it" sentiment aimed at kids. All while there is also a push for "affirmative" care for kids from TRAs. If a kid says they think they might be trans, TRAs want the very first step to be puberty blockers / hormones and screech about any kind of psychological screening as "medical gatekeeping" or "trans conversion therapy".New webTroon comic

Giving this advice to kids to "just try it out" means that kids are likely to suffer lasting and permanent harm for simply jumping on the trans-trender bandwagon because they feel like outcasts and are trying to find a place to fit in. (Not much different from the goth phase that used to draw in the outcasts.) Is he really that stupid or is he deliberately trying to get kids permanently stuck on a trans medical path in the hope that more trans kids growing up to be trans adults will somehow make him less of a freak?
