So he 'became apart of our family' in April 2007 and then died in February 2008.. this poor kid didn't even last a year as 'apart of our family'. That's disgusting, especially since they're being cagey about COD.

That little boy may or may not have grown up to be a thumb in his own right, but according to the timeline provided by a kiwi earlier in this thread, his death occured within 24 hours (?) of having been an otherwise normal, active child. I have no evidence, but there are few illnesses that progress that quickly (meningococcemia, necrotizing fasciitis, pneumonic plague, etc) and it's very likely this boy died alone and in pain.

I guarantee that child had the flu or a cold and was neglected into pneumonia. There's not way he was fine and then dead 24 hours later. It just doesn't work that way outside of the things you mentioned or an accident or other unnatural means. They're hicks with no money and apparently very little going on upstairs. He probably had a stuffy nose and maybe a cough, but to get to the point of declining that quickly, he had to have already been sick as a dog. Also, he was what 18 months to 2 yrs old? There was no "catch in the hall" unless she means they rolled the ball back and forth. If it was pneumonia and no one including Becks noticed labored breathing and a fever then fuck them all.

My personal opinion is that the child was neglected or that Misty was too goddamned stupid to see how severe the situation had become. Becky admits to being there the day before so I suppose she's too goddamned stupid to see it as well. Not to mention the child's loser pedo father. Again, as you mentioned, normal, healthy children do not decline that quickly unless it's meningitis or something like that, but that's not ever something that's been mentioned. I seem to remember her saying flu at one point, but I'll be damned if I'm going to go dig for the receipt.

Yes. Pneumonia can make you anemic. Some types butcher all types of blood cells. To be at the point he needed a blood tranfusion, the poor kid would be visibly on death's door. Pale, clammy, incoherent, etc.

I suppose it could if it progressed to the point of sepsis. The saddest thing about this is that it didn't have to get to that point. If he'd been taken to the hospital or doctor in good time they would have just pushed fluids and antibiotics and he probably would have been fine. And here we are again at basic neglect.
