Comparing Vic's case to Cosby. Classy, way to trivalize decades of victims. (Writer calls herself a 'feminist lawyer,' how ironic)
Quoting Lawtwitter, including Doucette and Akiva, leaving out their own stupid shit they've done.
And of course, the writer mentions that email threatening Chupp and attributes it to Vic's followers, when its been shown
to be a third party neutral.

Glad to see verge publishing some random lawtwitter lawyer's opinions. And lies, for god's sake, Akiva did not just comment once:
OH and surprise, surprise, looks who in her thread from the article, our old pal Terez:

Okay so to summarize what we know about the mediation.

All parties are included, Marchi is there because her TCPA may be dismissed or because some reason we don't know, on the legal thread someone mentioned that since TCPA payments are awarded by the court they could not use mediation to negotiate those payments.

The mediation has a very short window of opportunity to be done, unless they can make some type of long distance meeting, they either have 2 days from now or 2 or 3 days before the limit date.

The mediator seems to be skilled at mediation, this according to previous reviews.

Also one last tidbit, case law indicates that if Chupp does not officially write up his rulings of the TCPA before the limit date then the TCPA is dismised and if I remember correctly the defendants can't appeal, so Chupp could also be trying to save face by forcing a settlement with mediation and if that doesn't work then he could just not write his rulings forcing the case to move forward and stopping any appeals, this would be morally reprehensible, but hilarious and may also be a smart move fr Chupp since he doesn't get reprimanded by an appeals board.

The last point is also very much unlikely so I don't think it would happen, but if anyone who knows about law can give their opinion on whether Chupp could do something like that I would appreciate it, even if all you do is say that the idea is stupid and Chupp can't do it because so and so.
Maybe Chupp would do the latter so he can see how bad the rage from KickVic spergs is compared to the rage he gets from ISWV spergs, and use this to determine how to rule in the rest of the case.

Ironic how KV whines about how anime fans are now divided because of vic, now have the same faggots literally dividing fans and calling them "sexist trolls". These people are fucking parasites.

The author is a sock puppet. :story:

Great now you have my hopes up. With Chupp anything is possible.

How does the Verge work, is it like Medium or does it pretend to be a news org?

Only reason I'm considering it is because for Chupp that would be the best solution moving forward when it comes to maintaining a good appearance and reducing the amount of things he would have to deal with.

If he maintains his ruling on the TCPA leaving the defamation charges then all the defendants will appeal, because those are the expensive charges, if he changes his rulings Marchi will appeal because Chupp dismisals from the bench would have prejudiced her defense, it he dismises everything then Ty will appeal with just cause because at least the TI would have been a clear evidence of Chupp fucking up.

Instead if he simply doesn't file his rulings then case law says it dismisses any TCPA and the lawsuit continues without appeals, yes he makes a fuck up but any other case he also makes a fuck up and then gets appealed.

If we go with the idea he is fed up and just wants the easy way out, then forcing mediation in the hopes of not having to make a fuck up, followed by one fuck up that won't result in appeals seems to be his best choice.

Of course this is dependent on him not filing his rulings being less of a fuck up than his rulings being appealed, so I would need a lawyer to give their opinion about which is worse for Chupp.

They can actually appeal it, but it's very unlikely to succeed. They would need a major argument in their favor and essentially the go ahead from the plaintiff to get it back on the table. Or they would need to get certain precedential decisions overthrown, which isn't easy either.

These people are just cocky because they think all of the charges will be dismissed and Vic will be too poor to even try an appeal. It's just setting themselves up for massive failure if it isn't, or if something were to happen to end up making all the charges go through. Suddenly, Ty will be able to start demanding discovery again, and start looking at these people pushing these defamatory implications (suggesting that Vic is being #metoo'd and raped people, when the actual stories involve kisses and hair pulling). He's been gimped for 2 months or so because of the TCPA, and they seem to be forgetting why he's been gimped, and starting to think he just won't ever respond.

If a sockpuppet can make an article go on the front page, can someone make an account and create an article saying "jews did 9/11"?
If I'm being honest the evidence for 9/11 being fishy is better than the evidence against Vic. Just the twice collected terrorism insurance seems more incriminating than anything they have provided against Vic.
