IIRC, Susie Green has pretty much stated on record that she's interested in getting odd and eccentric boys and girls trans because that way they're at least not faggots or dykes (I'm paraphrasing). She's also not just some random individual, but a person with a frankly disturbing amount of influence in the UK's government. So @Sourceress is right, this is definitely a thing, even in progressive counries.

No, she's not forcing him to become trans, but it's an interesting instance of the way certain parents are encouraging gender non-conforming behavior in their children. And there are the men loving men "guys", who are all young women who fetishize gay men in a very similar way to how the AGPs fetishize lesbians. I just bring them up because I think there are people who really, really want to distinguish between nasty, predatory MtFs who chop their dicks off because of their icky sex drives, and poor, abused FtMs who chop their titties off because society hates them so much.
