I kinda disagree. His content is extremely boring but as a person he has a fairly unique voice in unintentional comedy.
During the Gamergate era and before being disavowed by the skeptics Matt used to present himself as this shitlord with a talent for triggering the libs, who really knows how to handle the internet and described himself as "one of the most red pilled motherfuckers around" but when you look at him in reality he's a literal cuck with Starbucks Soy Latte running in his veins instead of blood. I'd say that's funny and interesting enough to mock him for it.

The difference between Phil and, say, Matt or Wings is that while DSP makes a big stink of his “detractors”, he doesn’t seem to let it actually get under his skin. Nowadays too I’m sure he hams it up for the camera because he knows his reputation and he knows that it brings in the dough. It doesn’t come off that he has many insecurities about his lifestyle, and for that he deserves at least a bit of respect for successfully milking his autistic anti-fans.

The false flagging drama where metokur made him say he was a little bitch is deff mock/lol cow worthy. I guess my question was more why flame him in the first place.

Metokur was right about discord. I thought he might have said my gf daughter as a way of being all passive aggressive to ether the daughter or the gf. You know they way old people might say "my husbands sons just fucked up big time"

but yeah after all this shit he is mockable to an extreme

Phil ultimately realized that even if it's negative attention, it's still attention. His detractors probably do bother the shit out of him, but at the end of the day he ultimately cares more about keeping his "career" afloat.

Matt on the other hand still wants to be positively viewed by everyone online. Part of it might just be that he hasn't reached the same level of online trolls that Phil has. However, I don't think even if he had the same level of trolling he would take advantage of it.

It takes more than ice cream to make a sundae. In Matt’s case, the ice cream was flagging peoples’ videos. But the rest of the toppings came when he tried to act like it never happened, buying subs to mask his losses, using the guy who stole that airplane to suicide bait his audience, releasing a half assed apology hoping to make everything go away, and continuing to flag people because he’s mad at the internet.

The reason why he’s getting shit on over a year later is because all of his fuck ups have come together to make a giant sundae and everybody with a spoon can’t wait to take a bite.

Oh, I understand exactly how it happened. There was buildup before all of that too, people were suspecting him for a long time but he thought he had plausible deniability when it reality, it was just people not pressing him hard enough so when everyone finally came for him, it was an extremely powerful, "I KNEW IT!" moment that sent people into a frenzy.

What I should have said was "how does a person let this happen?" like nigga, if you don't have the mental fortitude to deal with people calling you a faggot on the internet then fucking leave and get a real job. If you can't take the heat then it'd be a more comfortable living and you'd even be happier just working a basic retail job.

I wish I'd been in the screencapping/archive-everything mentality in like 2015. Matt is pathologically anti-job, and wasn't afraid to say so across multiple platforms. I think I even remember him quitting real work at a time when his channel was just starting to break even rather than waiting until he had enough coming in for savings/etc.

Then again, the best job he's had was probably that one at the theater where he harassed the homeless guy.

The only other job I remember him talking about was the call center he worked at in his early 30s.

Matt’s the kind of person who could get pulled over with three bricks of coke under his front seat and say “Why yes officer, you can search my car” while thinking he’s too stupid to find anything.

It’s pure ego. It’s the type of ego that won’t let him work a shitty retail job because he can’t control what customers and management say about him. The only job I can imagine him doing where he doesn’t have to take shit from people and everyone expects him to be a slimy faggot is working as code enforcement for the city.

I think one of the differences between DSP and Matt, is that a lot of DSP's 'detractors' are acting out of frustration with Phil's poor decision making, and refusal to reflect on how he lives his life and conducts himself on YouTube. They're pissed at him for not being better than he is.

With Matt it's different, nobody seems to want him to change or improve, I think because most people see him at best as a superficial personality, and at worst as a dishonest bad actor trying and failing to manipulate his audience, and the people he interacts with online.

To me DSP seems more mentally robust than Matt, he will on occasion show that he possesses a pair of balls, and just let rip on his videos, even if he fails to hit his target at least he's showing some genuine emotion. He's also indirectly contributing to decent content through Memology101.

I’m no DSP historian, but from what I’ve seen, Phil comes across as a very genuine person. Most of his negative personality traits come from being very impulsive and arrogant, but I can’t name any instances where he’s been purposely deceitful for personal gain. At the end of the day, his entertaining quirk is that he’s this guy who’s bad at video games but unironically thinks he’s a god. Sure he can act like an asshole, but I think it’s mostly due to his arrogance and lack of social awareness rather than some malignant intent on his part.

Matt on the other hand is a snake who gets butthurt over people saying mean things about him on the internet, and will act in underhanded ways to get “revenge”, while also trying to hide from the consequences because he’s aware he’s doing something scummy but chooses to do it anyways.

Phil is IMO endearingly stupid, while Matt is just a pathetic human being. Phil is actually funny (insofar that you can easily laugh at him and his antics), but with Matt it’s more like watching a train wreck.
