Social Justice Warriors - Now With Less Feminism Sperging

So apparently Margaret Atwood has written another book in the Handmaid's Tale world. It's called The Testaments. I could never get through the Handmaid's Tale because it was so over the top "Christians will do this! Beware! Beware!" that I couldn't take it seriously.

Given that Atwood has drunk the kool-aid and gone completely bonkers over Trump, I'm almost interested in how over the top whoever the villain is resembles Orange Man Bad. Not enough to buy it obviously, but maybe pirate it.

The most ironic part about it all was that Atwood originally intended The Handmaid's Tale as a criticism of Sharia Law and the then-recent Iranian Revolution.

She just used Evangelical Christianity as a stand-in since this was pre-9/11 and most Americans would be a lot more familiar with Christianity than with Islam. Plus it was the early 1980's and the Religious Right was just gaining steam at the time, so it did feel topical as well. She didn't go fully off the deep end until much later.

I still find it ironic that the SJW's who champion The Handmaid's Tale the most and think it's like some sort of modern-day prophecy are also the ones most likely to whine about Islamophobia and silence any criticism of Islamism or the migrant policies in Europe.

Well that, plus as a canadian she wanted to take potshots at the US.

Re: Cuba, currently they're suffering from a shortage of food and medical supplies. They've been running to be lining up for food since around April.

Vets are having their anaesthetic supplies confiscated for hospital use.

Only a few days ago I was told a family from Miami - American Cubans, went to Cuba to bring meds for family member that was in hospital. They were arrested.. and then charged a fee for the meds.

And yet, she still almost got cancelled during the height of the 1st season of the show, because she dared to defend due process for a guy that was... guilty of fuck all, except a consensual affair.

What is it that tucutes think makes you trans if it’s not dysphoria? Saying you don’t need dysphoria to be trans is like saying you don’t have to be attracted to dudes to be a gay man, or you don’t need compulsive behavior to have OCD. I don’t understand it.

I'm pretty sure tumblrites have defended both of those propositions. But they're morons, so...

It's actually very simple if you realize that all people want is to be something (in a special class like "trans" or whatever) without having to actually do the work/have the struggle for it (by having the actual condition/surgery/whatever).

It's bending the rules to accommodate the thing you want to happen.

"I'm sorry, sir, but we here at the Twitter handle @ScrubQuotesX (archive) only accept salt submissions in angry gamer or stupid gamer flavors. Transgender gamers are considered to be a protected class of people and should not be made fun of in any way, shape, or form."

Apparently there are things that not even salt miners on Twitter will touch. I'm sorry I'm not sure where else this can go. I just find it pretty hilarious that these salt miners in particular have salt standards based on morality.

Which is one thing. I checked it out - Twitter handle deathpigeon, tweets now protected, but I thought just an example of extreme stupidity deserving of mockery.

And then I was informed by a follower, that no, I was propagating transphobic harassment against the author, that they had been experiencing harassment for years in part due to an ex, and that the tweet was probably just a thought experiment based on their podcast so shouldn't be mocked. So even though I might not be transphobic by making fun of her, I was helping spread transphobic hatred aimed at this specific person with a blurred-out name, so...

Apparently, troons never say stupid things, it's always a thought experiment. Also troons never lie about harassment, and they never call any negative reaction to their statements transphobic harassment either. And the information you could find out about this person changed completely within an hour, since there's no evidence for any of these claims of harassment and abuse except, presumably, their own Twitter feed - a bastion of truth and honesty, I'm sure.

The tweet itself is moronic. But the reaction, that pompous, 'Well actually you're wrong for laughing and I'm not saying you're a bad person, except you're totally a bad person' SJW response just added to it.

I'm fairly positive that anyone wasting a commissar's time by bitching about units of measurement would earn themselves and some of their family either a free trip to the nearest gulag, or a real intimate meeting with Mr. Bullet. Assuming, of course, that someone as useless as this guy would somehow manage to survive a revolution long enough to bitch at the commissar.

"When you think about it, units of measurement are problematique™, because some of them seem to imply that I have flaws."

They're a reminder that an objective reality exists which doesn't care about their feelings. So naturally, they have to go.

Reminds me of the time a bunch of fatties took baseball bats to a pile of bathroom scales in protest of... I don't know, the scales telling them something they didn't want to hear?

During French Revolution the government literally sent police out into the country side to enforce use of the newly created Metric system. Does that mean the French Revolution is counter-Revolutionary.

link

The Paris authorities were so exasperated at the public’s refusal to give up their old measure that they even sent police inspectors to marketplaces to enforce the new system. Eventually, in 1812, Napoleon abandoned the metric system; although it was still taught in school, he largely let people use whichever measures they liked until it was reinstated in 1840. According to Dr Alder, “It took a span of roughly 100 years before almost all French people started using it.”

They're too deep down the post-modern/ identitarian rabbit hole, at this point, everything is a social construct to the degree that what you believe, is true. If I feel I am a woman, then I must be. After all, who but you can judge how you see the world? Don't give me your X-X chromosome BS, the idea that gender is expressed through those is just a scientific theory.

Yes, the end result of that "logic" is that literal hallucinations of an insane person are as VALID as what's really there as shown by all the scientific data in the world, if not more. After all, the scientist is just using cold, emotionless numbers and may actually change their convictions on a whim if they "don't add up" But the crazy person is sincere in their BELIEF no matter WHAT.

OK by their reasoning when we go to get flooring or paint for our new house then we just have to buy any amount and if it does not cover said area the makers and retailers are oppressing us? The rabbit hole gets more and more insane the further it is exposed, why are these lunatics not in asylums?

They're kidding, right? Because having uniform measurement parameters is one of those things that helps sustain a civilization. Even if it's weird, as long as it's consistent, it'll keep things rolling along.
