potentially deadly shit

The fact that someone took the time to write that and is proud of it has me staring at my ceiling just dumbfounded.
What really astounds me is how it has a positive total. Bad ratio, though, because a lot of members pretty much saw this for what it is; a tranny being asshurt over memes.

The ultimate stage of butthurt is when one cannot do anything about them so they spend hours writing a fictional expy of them online just to spite them.

It is a sign of how far SCP has degenerated that anyone could post concentrated cringe like this and have it viewed as even worthy of a number.

That’s how you know we’re winning. Not “we” as in the evil Kiwi fascists, but “we” as in the sane masses who are slowly getting sick of social justice ideology. They’re starting to realize that nobody gives a fuck about them, and their only response to criticism is literally just telling people to fuck off and that if you have an issue with it then you’re not the type of fan they want.

...well, as the mainstream media and entertainment industry is starting to learn, you tell enough people to fuck off for their NORMAL VIEWS AND OPINIONS and they’ll do exactly that.

Can’t say I’m surprised it’s DJKaktus. The article seems like a giant cope after he got BTFO during the pride month fiasco a while back. He is also the one pushing that ugly ass header that’s doing nothing more than clogging up the entry.
Oh yeah. Looking at the article history it was made during the aftermath of that shit show.

Cyantreuse finally responded to the shit floating around about him, and I can’t begin to describe how unintentionally hilarious it is. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely some false stuff going around about him. The dude’s not a child predator, and that claim seems like it was exaggerated from something because.... I dunno, abuse of adults isn’t good enough for some people. But let’s see….

Analysis under the spoiler:

You’ll notice that Cyan tries to claim legitimacy with this post because a few SCP staff members looked at it before he posted it. What he’s not telling you is despite the fact that he claims to despise SCP staff, he still has several friends on staff who will defend him no matter what. In fact, one of them (a moderator) recently tried to abuse his position on staff to make someone confess to something she didn’t do.

https://archive.fo/yqDxv
https://archive.fo/HOADK
https://archive.fo/cwKiW

He later edited his post when he got caught lying about speaking for SCP staff: https://wrongjohnsilver.tumblr.com/post/187513347182/cyril-never-reported-you-staff-found-everything (Archive: https://archive.fo/2YxVY)

Also pretty funny that Cyantreuse claims anyone who doesn’t believe him is being manipulated when he regularly sends his friends to harass people who’ve spoken out against him before (not just the above, there are several cases of this (here’s one that got a brief log on O5 Command: http://05command.wikidot.com/forum/t-10118956)). He’s taken a philosophy in which he believes it’s best if he stays silent and lets his friends do the talking for him (https://archive.fo/VOoEK) so that it’ll look like people overwhelmingly support him. The hypocrisy is laughable.

I’m unsure why he’s saying that any tweets were deleted, because I don’t see anything missing. A search just for the term “Cyantreuse” or “sexycontainmentprocedures” (not the only name that people tweeting about him used) on Twitter reveals plenty of posts from late July and early August in which people were talking about him (https://archive.fo/WmjRg, https://archive.fo/qaijo, https://archive.fo/fqW76). Dishonesty isn’t a very good look for someone who’s trying to “stop the lies”, Cy.

I’m also a bit confused why he insists that these claims largely came out over the summer. Cyan was exposed by several people between the timeframe of December 2018 and February 2019 when they decided they were fed up with his toxicity. Some stuff has come out since then, sure, but this feels like an attempt to say “all of this is very recent!” in order to deflect from the fact that people have been furious with him for a long, long time.

However, by far the funniest thing about this post is the insinuation that we shouldn’t care as strongly about the fact that he’s an abuser because it’s not the official reason he was banned. Congrats Cyan, you’ve proven that not only are you a despicable sex pest, but you were such a tyrant throughout the fandom that SCP staff had to break their policy of staying out of offsite matters to permanently ban you for that reason alone.

Edit: I found a Tumblr post that's a fantastic analysis of the situation, and definitely worth a read. Duckman/Dr. Bright deserves a special place in this thread too, if you ask me, but that's for another time.

I miss stuff like the creepy statue that killed you if you blinked. What happened to that?

It's still there (http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-173), but the main difference between then and now is that the SPC's were meant to be scary or thought inducing, Now they're all proxies for some glbtrwweiukjhaisynaqjkwl agenda or based on this cowering fear they have of the outside world and differing opinions.

Interesting community they got there. Never paid any attention to their behind the scenes drama, but I'll say that getting proper feedback from them can be difficult at times... I made feeble attempts at two SCPs (a hill that renders motorized vehicles inoperable and an old computer virus capable of affecting data on paper), both times people on their forums told me it's all great, good idea, well done, go ahead and post. Then they were downvoted to hell right away. The dissonance left me reluctant to try another time.

Moaning and bitching aside, I'll be unoriginal and say that the first series is the best, SCPs like the Hanged King tragedy or the Genesis song being rather memorable. Their so called LOLFoundation phase was stupid but still fun and at least led to some amusing experiment logs. Other than the various nonsense already mentioned ITT, what annoys me the most is how SCPs nowadays are peppered with references to all these groups of interest. Never cared one bit for all the tales and mythos surrounding the Foundation, so all I can tolerate is Alexylva and Are We Cool Yet.

I like Chaos and GOC, myself. They are plausible PoI for the Foundation.

There used to be a prominent link to top SCPs of all time, and where it used to be, there's now a link to top nu-SCP, even though everyone knows nu-SCP is 100% garbage.

Look at this:

1569627687540.png

The left is what it used to be, noticeably absent from the new version, which keeps the lowest rated pages.

They're trying to force their new SHIT down your throat over the pages (like 173) that people actually want to see. They literally broke the site to do that.

What a bunch of fucking maggots, gnawing on the corpse of what was made by their betters.

To be fair, a constant complaint was that a lot of the high-scoring pages were only there because they were popular “legacy” articles, and not because they were particularly good - and honestly I’d be inclined to agree with that. You can appreciate them for what they are - a product of their time, but objectively speaking their high rating is not indicative of their quality.

Granted, I don’t particularly like nu-SCP either - it started getting boring for me around the time Series 4 started where everyone was trying to out-do each other in how needlessly confusing and meta they could make their article, or just straight up turning it into a video game or action movie. I absolutely despise the Ouroboros Cycle retcon for basically turning the O5 council into a pantheon of shitty video game bosses, and also because it gives the appearance of effort and polish, which makes people immediately judge it for how it presents itself rather than the content of the writing.

On a more positive note, the exploring series guy did another SCP vid highlighting a perfect example of the kinds of articles I actually enjoy reading, where the focus is really more on Foundationverse geopolitics and the anomaly is more of a trigger to get the plot going.

The top rated of all time still exists, it's just not on the sidebar. Also, the fucking infograph is the second most upvoted scip of all time now.
