Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

the force?
I'm assuming it could take someone to conjure a bunch of them. On top of that, having the power to fire a beam of light.

But, they could just randomly appear I guess..

In the drafts, I believe Luke summoned obi-wan and Yoda who then took physical form...

This is how it all ends....ripping off legend of fucking korra

It all comes tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down....to this

Imma go and rewatch Miami Connection again to cheer myself up

Is there a fart version of this? It would seem more appropriate, given the known and published proclivities of some of the people behind this ongoing trainwreck.

What's with the trend of science fiction IPs getting utterly dismembered and having their corpses sodomized?

Star Wars: OT and PT are shat on.
Star Trek: TOS (and probably TNG) are destroyed thanks to Discovery bullshit.
Alien: The "perfect organism" is now just a science project from an android with a god complex.
Predator: Thanks to the latest movie in the franchise, it turns out the intergalactic big-game hunters are really harvesting human DNA (and weaponize autism) to invade Earth because climate change will make the planet hospitable for the species while humanity dies.

Any other sci-fi IPs that I missed?
Terminator.

First, the suits in change in Hollywood have gone deep with franchises, trying to bank on the nerd crowd and their autism (cf. the video game industry and the whales). So they make film after film, which will enviably destroy the original's qualities no matter how talented and well-meaning any of the crew actually are (and, of course, they are often not talented or well-meaning). Secondly, the directors and writers are also want to be seen as serious, deep and highly relevant to our era, so often push in a lot of woke SJW ideology into their works, which makes them feel like they are deep intellectuals with new and important to say, all while pushing the same copy-paste ideas that have been around since the 60's and is jarring with the original's established lore and tone.

if I’m understanding the leaks correctly the final battle is only about taking out the Sith fleets command ship so they can’t navigate out of the unknown regions (this doesn’t make sense as Star destroyers are capital ships which should have nav computers sophisticated enough to travel the galaxy).

But what about the rest of the first order that’s still in control? Are they just going to give up because palpatine and Kylo are dead? We are essentially back to post ROTJ setting with a first order remnant and various warlord groups vying for control. They will probably even have Rey setting up a Jedi academy like Luke did and the Kevin feige and d&d films will probably focus on different jedi at the academy. Almost like Mcu superheroes.

Well....atleast Stargate died a decade ago thanks to that whiny hackcuck Scalzi and its corpse wasnt resurrected just to be raped back to death in a godawful fucking webseri....

erm...men in black?

Fucking kill me
Christ I can't wait until we develop the ability to travel to alternate universes. Once that happens I'm jumping to an alternate universe where SJW ideology failed to breach the mainstream.

Agreed, it is fairly nonsensical.

What would make sense is that the Sith Fleet is essentially idle with only a handfull of active command ships...

That would make the rag tag resistance fleet seem to have a chance...

But, if its like hundreds of star destroyers vs a handfull of ships: it just comes off as nonsense..

I mean, I dunno. /x/ culture is looking pretty infected.
Has anyone updated the SCP thread on site? Last I checked I don't think it had the 2018 drama and shakeup explained.

I'm trying to justify the Palpatine is Rey's relative issue. Palpatine could just be lying to her. Make her think she's related so she turns because she thinks she should, or maybe Palpatine did weird force ghost stuff with her parents to make her connection to the force stronger. There are a lot of ways it could go that would make that part of the leaks somewhat true.

George Lucas himself got that ball rolling in RotJ with the rebel fleet hilariously outnumbered and yet still win a "knife fight in a phonebooth" brawl against the Imperial fleet. And later the lighting storm in Dark Empire which RotS seems to cribbing from.

Afaik only the Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, and Exosquad avoided using deus ex machina to defeat the superior villian fleets at the end of their series.

Korra 2.0. If I disdained that abortion of a series before, I now retroactively hate it with all my guts. Fuck Korra, and fuck JJ for being this much of a hack.

The only good thing to come out of this now is the inevitable E;R video and boy that's going to be cathartic.

Thank you for mentioning Korra, I feel like it should be added to the list. I think Korra was the first time I personally noticed a franchise I loved being ruined by going woke/or just simply being bad with it being an inferior successor to Avatar The Last Airbender.

And it's been downhill ever since.

7: Mara Jade is confirmed to be alive in Disney canon via Galaxy's Edge... on the wall of a bathroom stall...

For you plebs not well-versed in alien gobbledygook, it says "Mara Jade Lives" in Aurebesh.

Reminds me of in Stephen King's Dreamcatcher a part taking place in Derry mentions graffiti that says "PENNYWISE LIVES"

Stargate franchise got ruined by wokeness and anti-U.S. militarism (FU Canada) years before Legend of Korra aired.

Care to explain how?

FTFY.

Although I do like E;R's stuff too, he doesn't go into as much detail about the SW Sequels as hackfraudmedia does...

Alien: The "perfect organism" is now just a science project from an android with a god complex.

That especially pisses me off because the aliens are clearly just supposed to be natural creatures going by the old movies, there's never any indication otherwise, as Bill Paxton said "How can they cut the power, man!? They're animals!"

It's a far scarier idea to think of something like that just naturally evolving than to think of them being the result of mad science purposely trying to make a monster, that's a hoary old cliche that feels below the franchise.

But to be fair, Alien was actually the first of these modern sci fi classic franchises to get turbo fucked, it was already ruined as far back as 1992's Alien 3, but Covenant messing with what was already established is even worse.

"How does it feel to know that every single franchise you once cared about is failing?"

I said earlier in the thread that I fear that the fact that our culture seems to be dying could be a sign that civilization itself is on the verge of some apocalyptic scale event.

I still fear that could be the case, but now I'll share an optimistic view, maybe this is something that needed to happen because what we really need is new stuff, all these franchises need to die so that pop culture can be revived like a phoenix from the ashes and we can get a new generation of new franchises to become the future classics.

I totally understand why it's been hard for our society to let this stuff go, Terminator, Alien, Star Wars and so on and so on, it was all fucking great, but that stuff had it's day and it's time to do what culture has always done and that's take inspiration from the past but transmute it into something new, that's just the natural way things go, what we're doing today is artificially trying to continue these franchises on and on and on and it's no wonder they run out of steam, you don't even need this modern "woke" culture to ruin things, things can get creatively bankrupt and shitty without bringing politics into the mix.

It's just bad storytelling to drag something out, all good stories have endings.

Again, I understand how hard it can be to let the past go, but we're almost 20 years into the 21st century, it's time to let this century have it's own stuff instead of trying to desperately recapture the magic of the late 20th.

Yes, I appreciate the irony that TLJ's message of "let the past die, kill it if you have to" wasn't actually wrong, which the movie itself demonstrated by being so shitty.

Thank you for mentioning Korra, I feel like it should be added to the list. I think Korra was the first time I personally noticed a franchise I loved being ruined by going woke/or just simply being bad with it being an inferior successor to Avatar The Last Airbender.

It really has been downhill for almost everything since 2013, wasn't that when Korra started?

Short answer Bush Derangement Syndrome coupled with small dick syndrome. Thou compared to damn near everything else on TV at the time it was barely noticeable when it shows up. Except for a few episodes when it is entirely in your face with the Bush is bad (using landry a Bush proxy), America is bad and screw the U.S. military.

Legend of Korra ranned from 2012-2014
