Citation needed for Justin Cook. I will say the comparison is a tad hyperbolic. But I WILL concede, Dub VAs and VAs as a whole are a tough job to do. You need to find an acceptable voice for the role, and then also need to provide an acceptable take. I'd say knowing what we know now though, it is tough being a VA in west, cause like the pay given is absolutely horrifying and probably would never have been brought to light now instead of later down the road, if not for this whole thing.

I've noticed the flip in the script here. What is considered a minority is being placed on a pedestal while whatever is considered a majority is being shat on.

For much of the 20th century, many minorities were legitimately being oppressed. But in the 21st century, aside from the whole obnoxious "micro aggressions" bullshit, most people are not really being oppressed (made "uncomfortable" at times maybe, but not oppressed). But I'm really wondering if all of the woke crowd are overplaying their hand and a bunch of people that have been worried about being tarred and berated for being "oppressors" are just going to say "screw it, if I'm going to get BLAMED for oppressing people anyway, might as well benefit from it by actually doing it". In "defense" of this, it's notable that unlike in Japan, US voice actors voice completely solo in a booth by themselves and then editors stitch the audio together into what it's supposed to be for the episode. (in Japan, all the actors are actually in the room together and lay everything down at the same time) So, unless Vic was the director, it would be totally believable that these people would never see each other despite working on the same thing even if their characters talk to each other. Ironically, this is also why Vic working at the company should pose zero threat to these people because in a worst case the company could keep them entirely apart where they never need to interact at all. Conventions are a different story since they might not know the other dynamics, but again, you could totally keep yourself "safe" with proper negotiation and planning.

Of course since they're incorrectly being billed as contractors instead of employees they'd be getting screwed on expenses and taxes, but I really doubt they'd be dependent on autographs.

Instead, it sounds like they get more like 4-8hrs a week.
