Is that blood running down his face? Is this when the cat "ran away"?

He has that look in a lot of older pictures from around that time. I always thought it was cherry Kool-aid stains, but someone else suggested it was irritated skin from Chris potentially licking chapped lips or wiping/scratching his mouth often.

I think it's silly to think that Barb intentionally dressed Chris to look like a tard. It's much more likely she kept dressing him as she always did and Chris took a long time to grow out of parental control.
Concerning that idea, maybe they did dress him up brightly colored on purpose, but not to inform others that Chris is 'special', but rather as a ... let's say safety feature.

You know, a kid that's wearing bright red, yellow and blue clothes is easier to pick out in a group, find outside when lost and since Bob apparently paid some girl to look after Chris on his way to the Bus, making him visible to traffic might have been a consideration, too.

And with an autists fondness for routine we get shirts like the "Advice Dog" or the "Horizontal Horror" 15 years later.

That's a nasty habit. I couldn't tell if he was trying to grow in a mustache or not in those as well.

Not sure if these have surfaced before. I like the Wendy's shirt. Guess he's still hanging onto it from his two days of employment.

Chris seems to hold onto anything he got from times in his life when he had a semblance of a social life with someone who isn't Borb. No matter how old or worn out it is. Probably as a memento of happier times.

I don't necessarily read a lot into it.

Firstly, if you go to a thrift store you tend to see a lot of garish crap.

A lot of little kids like bright colours. Chris tastes seem to be those of a young child. If he was given any input into the purchases, he might have chosen brightly coloured crap. Or if Barb bought clothes based on what he liked best of his current clothes.

And then it became a signature style.

Many autistic people have sensory issues when it comes to clothes so maybe Chris just found the clown coloured rugby shirts comfortable to wear?

Possibly, but he definitely embraced "the classic" shirt as his uniform later on. His cosplay for that anime convention he went to consisted of him wearing that shirt and going as himself.

People with Down's Syndrome have different shaped bodies (wide, short torsos, short arms and stubby legs with high knees) so normal people clothes don't fit them.

There is actually a Down's girl looking to make a killing by creating fashionable clothing for other Down's people because she was sick of getting the fat people clothes.

Holy crap. That woman photographs better than Pixyteri.
