I'm guessing nothing happened in mediation to nobody's surprise. I can't really see into Funi's finances but it cannot be looking too good considering the merge mess which will be hella expensive. Maybe they made a deal but I doubt it. Though all parties are very quiet so maybe something did happen. Surprised Lemoine didn't let this leak out immediately.

While I don't expect anything to get done, they still have tomorrow to work something out. They get to sleep on whatever proposals were made and will need to decide by then.

She still keeps a STC screenshot with Vic in it as her twitter header. And was referencing STC on her instagram a few months back. She uses her role to get invited to Star trek events, e.g. for "women in sci fi" panels. Meanwhile, STC was written by Vic, her role was written by Vic and the set she was acting on was built by Vic. She owes all of her success from that role to Vic.

She has a new boyfriend. Jim Lichtenstein, a producer / show runner/ writer on CBS. Guess we'll see her on some show on CBS soon.

Yeah, I think it's painfully obvious by the lack of news all day that nothing was accomplished.

Predictions:

Jamie Marchi won't have participated much because she figures she's home free. If they're pulled back in she might expect another round of mediation as a stopgap, which I don't think will do anything because Ty will tell her, "You had your chance."

Monica won't have shown up. Ron will be there in order to be the "sheepdog" and act like he's done the right thing, and that the judge is going to throw everything out.

FUNimation may have been more active in the hopes that if it goes sideways on them they can get a bit more leeway from Ty, and they won't have to do any discovery. I can see FUNimation trying to tell Ty that if they lose on TCPA they'll negotiate to stop discovery, and Ty saying that's not how it works.

She has been ordered by the judge to be there, she doesn't really have that option.

Incorrect. Parties with the power to make decisions then and there have been ordered to be present. As such, because Lemoine has filed paperwork for them together, it could be argued that only one party needs to be present.

As much as they want to go throught this together, they still are two different entities in regard to the law...
They are really really stupid if they ever think otherwise.

EDIT: But I guess anyone could choose a "representative", but that would really be a stupid thing to do here.

I figure that Ty used evidence from the inside sources to show there isn't a point to fighting.

It is a confidential hearing so Ty could tell them what he knows. Funimation can't really retaliate because they are down to essential staff. (Most likely.)

The mediator was probably exasperated because what can else can Vic reasonably do to please them at this point?

He already went to see a therapist and is seemingly in the care of one right now. They still haven't welcomed him back.

Stop the lawsuit? That's on the defendants at this point.

What can they demand that would be reasonable at this point? Nothing. All good faith efforts had been attempted previously and it didn't get him anywhere.

Now the defendants showed Chupp they think fuck all of his opinion.

Well that sucks? And if it’s private, does that mean there’s no transcript? I’ll just wait for Nick.

A woman with actual class would have just continued and moved on instead of acting like a petty piece of shit. It's clear she holds grudges and it's clear that's she's bitter and has never gotten over him to the point where she has to keep constantly telling herself that he's literal Satan just so that she can function in society. We get it, he hurt you. He is aware that he hurt you and he already feels bad about it, you don't need to keep beating the dead horse, the point has been made. He cheated on you, but that doesn't justify your petty crusade to destroy his life and everything in it. Cheaters are assholes but they don't deserve to die and it's not your place or anyone else's place to decide if he gets to be happy or not.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out Michelle started the whole thing. She has been friends with Monica for years. If Michelle made rape accusations against Vic, it would've been too easy to say "Why did you stay engaged too him if he did that?" and people would dismiss her as a jealous ex girlfriend. She had probably been pissed about the Broly movie providing Vic another big spotlight, while her own career was belly up. Ty should subpoena all of her communications with Monica and others involved in the lawsuit.

Very slim chance Nick will get anything out of this either, maybe Ty will drop him some nuggets once Chupp has ruled on the lawsuit but if Ty has a shot at a settlement he wont scupper that by giving stuff to Nick.

I will repeat myself but...
If Michelle was on board from the begining, Monica wouldn't have said that she "acted like nothing happened" during the phone call with her after the alledged room incident. If Monica said such a thing, that's because she didn't know, when she made up that story, on which side Michelle would be. Michelle is just using all this to smear Vic.

From what I can tell, we'll only hear of what went on during mediation if no one agreed to an NDA prior to the beginning of the mediation. Unless they decided on an NDA before starting the mediations, we'll likely hear on it from Nick via Ty or Ty himself as a guest on Nick's stream in the event that there's no agreements. Anything we hear would come after Chupp's judgements so no one could argue that it wasn't a good faith mediation.

No, there won't be any transcript of it.

Chupp's rulling affects what? There's going to be an appeal either way. Who gets the best situation for appeal based on who Chupp Sides with.

I think that is why Ron wanted to go on MBA's show. He was going to spin the mediation.

Is Ben Lamoreux associated with Rooster Teeth? He has Camp Camp as his banner. I'm half tempted to break my promise due to his douchebaggery.

The idea is that the person Chupp handpicked as the mediator might talk to Chupp about the parties behavior under the table and that may sway the outcome a little of his judgement hence why the parties should stay on their best behaviour till judgement.

Now I'm just a lay person and don't know if discovery can be conducted during appeals for TCPA but if they can and should all three parties remain, Monica, Ron and Funimation's information becomes accessible and I'm certain that Ron and Monica playing discovery games will near immediately bite them in the ass.

Otherwise, appeals happen and the less parties that escape, the less work Ty has to immediately conduct on said appeals.
