This guy is such an embarrassment. Also, did he just compare himself to a soldier in WW2?

Let me get this straight.
Vic had at the very least:
1) 250k of free money
2) Support from fans all over the world
3) Weapon grade kiwis saving countless of work hours, doing it for free
4) Messages of Ron lying about him to convention owners
5) Witness to disprove Monica's statement
Yet he lost. It wasn't even enough to prove the prima facie case.
God bless the United States of America.

Other falsely accused people won't have any of those things and there will be more of them. People will die, fuck, people died already.
Is the whole system so rotten, that the only way of dealing with that shit is for victim to not kill himself, but the people who lied about him?

In minecraft, of course.
More like God damn the United states, it's clear that you can only get far living there if you are a sanctimonious, twofaced asshole that preach a good game. Also with so many people only getting mad instead of acting on their outrage in a constructive manner (I.E not being retarded and trying to shot IRL and actually fund the war chest or boycott their services) just go and screech autistically in their own echo chamber adjacent to the SJW's.

It's clear that the American Justice System doesn't deal in logic, reason and facts, but instead in moralising, emotion and dishonesty.

You know, being a spastic :optimistic: on this one. but I'd bet money on the fact that most people that are true supports of Vic and people on the farms in general are got enough balls to actually go out and fight while these fuckers would try and run for the nearest safe space to call us out on killing in order to protect them.

At this point they're probably moving down the list and continuing. Optimism aside, if they're gonna target another VA they're probably going to go for the smaller fish next since they already "got" their "big win". Knowing that KV is parading around the "vic lost" spin still makes me doubtful any VA set in their sights next is going to fight back the same way.

I think people have little idea how little power most people have in this and it is not like they can freely strike people. KV is worth less than a sack of pennies and won't be able to do anything. The VA clot though I'm not so sure are going to do anything even soon. They all almost completely lost their jobs. I really don't think Sabat is stupid enough to pull more strings and the harpies will just annoy Funi if not piss them off enough to renew their contracts. I'm expecting Rial won't last much longer. She costed Funi a lot of money. Think about that for a minute.

This is a mess that will hamper Funi for years and years to come. I don't think there's going to be anything else to come for a few years due to that regardless of any outcome.

Hey there, Qrow's new VA. As if people needed more reason to think RWBY and RT needs to die.. EDIT: He's in a reply talking about muting.

At this point, I'm starting to wonder what the endgme will look like. It's either a leftist utopia, or something dominated by House Sabat if Kiwis are to be believed.

Here's the thing: we talk of cucks and the like all the time here. Do you really think there's another VA that has a spine, let alone is more of an alpha than Vic? Vic filing the lawsuit in the first place was a shocker to a lot of people and that wasn't because he was trying to prove a point, that was because he felt he had nothing to lose at that point. It's just really hard to see a way that this saga leads to another actor standing even an inch to halt the advance of Operation Broken Staircase.
I was hoping more for general fandom backlash since I agree with you that I don't think many other VA will do much besides posting PR apologizes and fading away.

Yes, probably after a short lull they go off to target someone lower down on their list. I can only hope that eventually the list makers find themselves in the proverbial cross hairs for not passing their own purity standards and get to live in the bed they've made for themselves.

I'm still astounded that this man is a "professional" lawyer with the way he acts on twitter.

I feel that a lot of the big KV actors, if they even keep their positions at Funi, will find themselves on a very tight leash going forward with the media storm they caused. I think that if Funi was smart they'd just dump them all, but with how Funi seems to be run smart doesn't seem as a good describer.

Funi is already laying off alot of people. the merger is the perfect way to kick those PR nightmares without getting backlash.

I thought that House Sabat was really running the show, if Kiwis are to be believed, and with that, Sabat can provide them with work like nothing happened, and if they are shitcanned, Chris can provide a golden parachute. Again, the end of their road either leftist utopia, or a Sabat run mafia racket (according to the Farms). Not sure which one is worse, or what either one looks like.

But who's getting laid off? For all we know, Steve from accounting might be gone because he's not a valuable asset while all the VAs stay.

I'm curious how con owners will do their bookings and panels now after this.

Especially if someone like Sabat loses their influence.

HR is on the shitlist for sure. they will also downsize their VA numbers for sure. the Funi gang has the nr1 show for now, but they will be hurting a bit because their nr2 show isnt doing so well.

I could also see Warner buying toei.

Yeah, it's not looking good but it doesn't really matter. Forgive the power level:

When I first learned about anime, it was on TV, that weekend anime thing by Toonami. So I paid whatever TV service I had then to watch it. Stuff back then like Big O and Lupin III, Ghost in the Shell and Full Metal Alchemist. That was my gateway drug into it. Except I NEVER paid money beyond that. I started watching streams, then started actively downloading it. I never once actually paid specifically for anime, at best for cable services or internet services that enabled me access to it, which weren't solely used for that.

Some dubs over the years WERE good I found. Baccano!, Lupin III's cartoony dub for much of the Red Jacket Series, Monster, Ghost in the Shell, FMA and Brotherhood, Big O, even some slightly more recent stuff. Comparing to dub of Redline for example I still felt the Japanese VA was superior but the dub was good on its own merits. Except, the keyword is "some". Most of the time I found it more preferable to just watch anime subbed.

To this day now, I follow the very basic formula of checking anichart each season and deciding what I actually even care about, then boom, I grab and watch those things as episodes come out.

Now, you'd think this is a VERY specific description, right? Well, not really. This isn't just a description of me, there are a LOT of fans who went this route. A metric fuckton of them aren't even active in any community outside of closed circles or they just stay out of the community altogether and go their own way. There is a huge market that gives minimal or even zero fucks about the western anime industry, and would shed no tears regardless of the outcome of all of this.

Couple this with what's been going on:

I dunno much about Sabat honestly, but I doubt he's some invincible asset. He has a studio, yeah. Sony has Funi. The merger is happening. Sabat may be running things at Funi behind the scenes, but he's not going to be running the show from behind the scenes once Sony finishes up the merger, I'm sure.

Pictures speak a thousand words, and Vic's often have tons of people in them while the opposing side has...empty lines and a fucking comic shop signing that tells them to get the hell out because trading card game players are more important than them.

I'm not gonna be ignorant and say the western anime industry is burning to the ground completely right now, but it's not the most booming industry for most of these people to work in and my above rant is a major reason why. The product comes from Japan, some groups slap some subtitles on the video files, and tons of people are instantly gratified. Vic Mignogna found success in it because he seems to be Charisma Man incarnate. Sabat probably found success by merely owning a studio and running cliques. But then look at Dominique, Monica, Marchi, Toye, even fucking Shane, good lord. Does that look like success? And reminder, owning that studio is probably the biggest piece in play Sabat even has. Without that, do you really think he'd have the clout he does?

The tl;dr is, honestly, I've never paid attention to the Western anime industry until Weeb Wars, and all this has truly made me think is "holy shit sticking to the Japanese industry is the better call for sure". I wish Vic the best, but I'm mostly looking forward to seeing what mountain of skeletons are in closets at Funimation.

Spot on about Sabat, and most of the funi VAs. They can't get that kind of adoration from the public on their presence alone.

Funimation sub-conracts stuff to sabat's studio while they have their own studio in house. That's just weird and you just know management will put a stop to it.

The Industrie is growing and has major backers working at streaming apps for anime.
