Now this is just shameless and desparate, even for Disney. Although after their "media takeover" to advertise this shitty park was a bust they'll probably do far more shameful things from here on out.

But it would explain why Galaxy's Edge in Florida has way more alcohol options everywhere than California. For those who don't know, California's GE only sales alcohol in their dime-store cantina but Florida's GE sales alcohol in every one of their eateries. Which seems to strengthen the fact that Disney only wants to attract rich wine moms to the park aka the Kennedy demographic. If the park's doing this bad, the hotel might end up being a disaster.

First of all, the entire reason this diversity shit is being pushed is as part of a massive social engineering project. If it truly was capitalist they would have pandered to the fans - or at least an audience who would have been watching - and made a decent action flick that would have printed money if nothing else. Instead they went full issues and in so doing pissed even the Chinese moviegoers off. If you actually cared about making money, then the fact that they could fuck up the un-fuck-upppable to the tune of hundreds of millions is the kind of thing that would get people sent to the gallows at other companies. That they're all still employed means that there is zero fucks being given about the profitability (or lack thereof) of this venture.

The second problem is that they've already admitted to the agenda publicly. Kathleen Kennedy basically admits to it in several interviews (check earlier in the thread) but the entire purpose of the new trilogy was to dismantle Star Wars as a whole and make it into their thing by essentially slicing out all vestiges of the series it was. Kennedy went on to brag about how her staff is 50% women and how many men with actual qualifications she turned down in favor of her own coterie of hand-picked tagalongs. We know from Lucas, Hamill, and basically everyone involved with the original trilogy that any concerns about or recommendations regarding the direction of the new trilogy were brushed off.

Mind, this is all on top of the fact that Hollywood has been pretty openly in favor of communist ideology since the 60s, hired multiple hard-left dipshits that routinely go on about how awesome Socialism is, and push the intersectional feminist angles - which, it needs be stated, are all steeped in communist ideology. Considering how many of their writers openly support ANTIFA, would any of this surprise you?

I respectfully disagree. I agree that Kennedy convinced the men with the suits that pandering to women and minorities will be a good marketing move. But at their core, these people aren't commies or marxist at all. There just rich liberals pretending that they have class conciousness and playing to be anticapitalist. The "anticapitalist" themes are vague and lazy because they don't go beyond "these rich people bad" You see, people who usually want to tell something with their works of fiction usually take the time to develop what they want to say. Even Sugar with her shitty writting makes clear that she is developing themes about gender, consent and all that crap. The pandering is Star Wars is lazy. There is no deep analysis of gender roles or any feminist focus in Star Wars 8 that goes beyond "Rey good cuz she is awesome". The writting is too lazy to be trying to tell something about race, gender or other shit. These people seem too incompetent to be try to spread a secret political agenda: the only thing they want is self-satisfaction, good press and filled pockets. Kennedy is not a secret Marxist feminist agent who wants to carefully spread her ideology, she is just some liberal hack that wants to virtue signal to look cool with the media. Don't try to overthink what these people do as some kind of "cultural marxism" because at the end of the day is just a bunch of elitist liberal faggots playing to be the hero.

But if they manage to make a campaign that is at least 20 times "Suscribe to Pewdiepie" levels of autism to spread the spoilers on every corner of the planet, maybe some damage can be done to Disney. Maybe

All this new info is getting me excited for it to be a mess. Could just be a new plot in which the big corps decide to make it as bad as possible to drive sales with the hate watchers? They won't lose sales from nufans. Maybe they're trying to make it look like a train wreck to get some of those old fans to at least see it in theaters once.

Part of me wants to believe you're right and that Disney really does want hate watching this piece of shit to pull in a solid chunk of revenue. But at the same time everything we've seen out of Lucasfilm and Disney the past few years and with disasters like Galaxy's Edge suggests anyone with this clever scheme is being kept far away from any real decision making power. Instead I think Disney is cutting their loss for this by limiting its advertising budget. Remember how for months before and after TFA and TLJ nu-Wars characters were everywhere at the grocery store advertising everything in addition to all the other ads for the movies? This movie isn't getting a fraction of that, it's maybe on Solo's level of advertising.

At this point I'm beginning to doubt the ability of IX to crack a billion (very optimistic on my part I'll admit). Seemingly the entirety of this movie's draw is "it's the last Star Wars movie to end things, you HAVE to see it since you saw all the others!" They've done fuck all else to draw crowds, that's for sure.

Since they have to cram a 2 movies worth of plot into one single movie (essentially covering for TLJ not having any plot to speak of), that means their movie might be on a bit of a time-constraint... Wouldn't it just be amazing if they decided to drop Rose entirely from the movie to save a bit of time? This merchandise could be an indication for that, come to think of it.
I mean, highly unlikely they'd cut her completely from the movie, but a man can dream...

I doubt she ever had any big scenes to begin with. maybe part of some dialogs while generally standing around at the edge of scenes just "being there".
more interesting is that they outright removed her from the shirts. the poster got rubber-dick in exchange, on the shirts there's an obvious hole. that's a lot of effort for a character that still could get some woke nufans buying tickets just "being there". almost feels like they canceled her completely.

It turns out the Empire is actually run by an old woman who's the head of Propaganda and Imperial Progress. Palpatine only sits on his ass all day collecting jedi relics and telling Vader to go kill Jedis while wasting money on the Death Star and creating huge debt. Old woman is actually super competent and is actually turning the Empire around because she's a Kennedy self-insert but she needs to kill Palpatine to Make the Empire Great Again. She then plans to have Palpatine killed by putting a nuclear bomb inside a jedi relic she's sending him which will blow him up and his entire tower. She then brags about her plan to Dr. Aphra who betrays her because the Lady Emperor indirectly caused her mother's death during one of the Empire's staged "hero" moments. Dr. Aphra then tells Vader who kills Lady Emperor. This all happens around Empire Strikes Back. With Lady Emperor's death, the Empire begins to fall apart slowly, leading to their own downfall regardless if Luke intervened or not. And so the day is saved by Dr. Aphra and the Mystery Kids.

I think that about covers it.
