Honestly this whole Klaud thing is just fiendish. Turning what should have been the movies biggest weakness into a pillar of memetic might and tricking those who once hated the movie into getting majorly hyped for it

This cant be unintentional....but just who could POSSIBLY be behind this?

I hate to do more "But what if it was GOOD" posting but: I agree, The First Order is a pretty cool name. But I like it as the name of like the elite faction.

The movies could have been interesting if they had stuck to the EU and had the Imperial Remnant, and the FO just being a a hyper-hardline faction that seizes control; maybe the Moffs were fine existing in an uneasy ceasefire with the Republic, but the FO keeps stirring shit.
Contrast it with Resistance - the New Republic has finally gotten the Imperial Remnant to the peace table, and the Republic Senate has all but forbid engagement with Imperial forces/crossing into Imperial systems because it would disrupt the peace talks, despite the FO launching raids (which at the time, seem random; in reality they're gathering the missing macguffins needed to get the Death Star 3.11 For Workgroups online). Maybe you've got Resistance members sitting in Republic jails who have to break out when shit pops off.

Hell, that could have made the Deathstar 3.0 (Honeycomb) make sense: the Imperial Remnant hadn't been able to agree on an Emperor, so a council of Moffs goes to sign an official end to the Galactic Civil war, so the FO does a decapitation strike on not just the Republic but their own "traitorous" leaders as well. This clears the board for Snoke to tell the surviving Moffs "I'm emperor now, you serve me, or Kylo force chokes you like a bitch."

I just read back through the thread. Welp, that confirms the only worthwhile Star Wars shit will be from Red Letter Media. But can somebody tell me what's the deal with Chuck Wendig's donut steel penis monster?

I find it difficult to imagine the sheer levels of self pity, ego, and raw autism which would motivate me to take a picture of myself crying and use it as a social media avatar to make everyone feel sad for poor wittle me

Reminder this is the bad timeline, in another Timeline things diverged at 1999 (as far as Star Wars is concerned) with the difference was Lucas during the filming of them wasn't given abslute control over the projects and they also were made as a group effort like the OT was, this is where the first nail in Star Wars's coffin as far as the Silver Screen is concerned, it is where we got on the first step towards this madness.
Fuck everyone that was/is an adult and was involved with everything bad since TPM, now Star Wars is ruined beyond hope.

Anyone interested in me reviewing the whole of Star Wars pre-Disney material? We need to clease the foul taste from our mouths and i never read, play or seen most of the EU so we also get a reaction to it from a set of new eyes

It's weird in hindsight that Lucas would even want to take on the burden of writing and directing the Prequel trilogy all by himself, rather than take on an executive producer role, he took the hard way and it didn't pay off.

But I'm sure ego played a role, most people didn't know how much of a group effort the OT was back in the day, I certainly didn't even know he didn't actually direct the second and third films until many years after the fact, I'm sure most people just assumed Lucas did everything and the fact that he didn't probably ate at him and he wanted to "prove" Star Wars was truly his baby by doing all of the heavy lifting for the prequel trilogy.
