Mobile games - no candy crush

I think the only game I've played on my phone that I didn't uninstall within an hour is Sudoku, and that seems like it doesn't really count.

I have a feeling that mobile gaming is at or very near saturation level. That's not to say it is necessarily going to decline, but I simply don't see much room for the industry to grow at this point. People who like playing phone games already play them, and people who don't like them aren't going to convert if they haven't by now. There's not a realistic way to increase their target population like there is with consoles and PC gaming; everyone has a smartphone already, so platform upselling isn't possible. It doesn't help that with the industry boom comes a flood of low-quality shovelware, not dissimilar to that which caused the gaming crash of the 80s. I would not be surprised if people get tired of seeing 100 permutations of the exact same shit, and give up on playing anything that isn't made by Nintendo or at least has enough starting capital to pay people to shill on YouTube.

Personally I would prefer to see games on mobile that just have an upfront cost and no microtransactions. I probably wouldn't play them anyway, but I think it would be better for people overall. Ironically, most mobile gamers would never buy into that because they generally aren't the type of people to buy games in the first place. They have to get addicted first before they start buying crystal or whatever dumb currency their game of choice uses, then most of them end up spending more on the game than they would have if it just cost $9.99 up front. There's a reason all these companies use the same F2P+microtransactions model, it makes them money.

I think a lot of the F2P models trick the general non-price conscious consumer into thinking they are getting a better deal when in reality they aren't. Kind of like those on-demand delivery services that jack up item prices and add service fees to their $4 delivery to make their profit 20-30% instead of just 10%.

Candy crush or Tetris on the subway if I forget to bring a book

"Battle of polytopia" is a pretty unique free mobile game that's somewhat like the Civ games, but way more simpler and bite-sized. You can jump in and out off bot games and there's online multiplayer if you buy a character (They're very cheap individually). Lan is free though. It's great if you have nothing to do while taking a shit or something.

About the only one I'd consider a full fledged game is Tales of Illyria. It's a turn-based party RPG with a sort of choose your own adventure and Oregon Trail thing going on. There's also The Quest games that are a lot like something like Grimrock/Eye of the Beholder mixed with Daggerfall kind of thing.

i began to play Call of duty mobile because my nephews and their friends were being obnoxious about it, now they are assmad at me because i raped them on deathmatch and battle royale

seriously the game is just Garena freefire but with deathmatch

Roller Coaster Tycoon Classic is a good pick for tablets (phones are too small for the interface). $6 and no microtransactions. They divided up the expansions where it's like $15 total for the whole package, which is a mix of RCT 1 and 2 content.

Groove Coaster 2 is another pick. It's a Japanese rhythm game with mostly electronica music. Mobile is free-to-play where you can buy more songs, Steam is $20 normally.

Pac-Man 256 is Pac-Man as an infinite runner. Decently fun little time-waster, better for quick sessions than my other two picks. Free-to-Play but you never have to spend money.

I’ve been playing a lot of Apple Arcade games because I am dumb Apple sheep that shits himself every night before bedtime.

I like Horrorfield. It's a rip-off if Dead by Daylight but it's pretty fun. The early grind is a bitch. But I enjoy it.

Granblue Fantasy (most played)
FF Brave Exvius
Been playing Kamihime project r which is basically just Granblue but with hentai and also the clean version. They genuinely put effort into it so I can respect that. Gacha Rates trash though unless you play the clean version which is more fair with gacha and you can use in game currency to unlock past events and get free SR characters and SSR weapons/summons.
Also has more variety in battle music and the normal raids are 0 ap cost.
And they keep The EXP/Gold farming up unlike the hentai one which is only on weekends.

I play Summoners War to pass the downtime at work and in airports. It is really kind of fun.

What suckered me in was this video that @Y2K Baby posted on my profile... Racuni was too adorable. Had to see if I could get him...
I can't believe I've done this.

Granblue Fantasy and Fate/Grand Order are the only mobile games I play.

This one is fun by itself, but the full version is totally worth it.

And good for kids, because might as well start training 'em for Space Force early.
