Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Well congratulations Twitter, you've finally made me take a break from work to log in to KF with my phone, instead of the usual which is to wait until I get home from the office. I know some of these assholes watch over the thread, so I guess this is for them.

I don't live with my parents - haven't for about 5 years. That doesn't matter inherently, as times can be tough and it's understandable to save money by living together. My point is that I think it's hilarious that they go immediately to assuming that I live with my parents - likely mentally picturing me in their basement.

I live in a decent apartment for about 700-ish bucks a month because I don't live in a shithole like California where the cost of living vastly outweighs the average pay. Not only can I easily afford rent, food, and all the video games and other bullshit I want, I could pay off my student loans right now if i didn't give a shit about my credit score. And that's for a Bachelor's of Science degree in a subject that actually got me a career, not some Gender Studies psych shit Associate's that might as well be toilet paper.

A thousand dollars may be a lot, but it's not like i didn't do the math to see if I could afford it. My sentiment about it being worth repairing a 20+ year reputation is still true, and I wanted to chip in for those who couldn't afford the support. I grew up watching both versions of Fullmetal Alchemist, and have always enjoyed his work. However I'd also say that I decided to go with that kind of cash because this has provided us here at KF with 10 whole months of nonstop entertainment, and it definitely isn't gonna stop any time soon - these reactions are solid proof of that. The fact that they claim to be financially stable yet think a single donation of a thousand bucks will ruin their livelihood speaks volumes about their financial habits.

I'm sure I could say more, but I've already spent more than enough time typing on this phone and I should get back to work.

As a final note, I find it absolutely amazing that they blacked out the name Sennoma Donacanto, for two reasons:
1. Anyone who wants to find the name would just go to the GFM and look
2. "Sennoma Donacanto" is just Esperanto for "Unnamed Donor." I'd normally assume you'd know that's not a real name, but seeing the evidence of your collective intelligence, I cannot make that kind of assumption.

TL;DR - I donated that much because I wanted to, and could very easily afford it. Twitter is stupid. Here's a toast to many more months of entertainment to come!

Trying to shame someone for a person deciding of their own free will to donate money is just scummy on all levels. Vic isn't even actively promoting his fans to support his gfm, it is entirely up to people themselves to donate however much they want. Sure, 1,000 dollars is quite a chunk of change but if the person is properly budgeting their money then they know exactly how much is okay for themselves to give and probably also have an emergency fund well stocked.

Also the whole idea of "there are better things you can spend 1,000 dollars on" is stupid given the subjective value of what exactly "better things" even are. What I consider worth my money could come off as a stupid waste of money to someone else, while I could think the same thing of their purchases.

Thank you very much for elaborating even though you were under no obligation to do so, I feel like a lot of the people complaining have no idea how to budget their finances. I'm honestly more concerned about them for making such a big deal because it's pretty clear that they are projecting their own living situation onto a strangers.

Looks like he couldn't stay away, guys. What happened to 2020?!

I've been looking around and it seems like a lot of the ISWV crowd are making the same mistake, acting as if Vic has already won just by going ahead with the appeal. The chimpout that ensues should the case get thrown out a second time will be spectacular.

That's why I don't listen to the masses. I figure 1 in 10 actually know what they are talking about, after that it becomes a game of telephone. Eventually it is so warped that it doesn't make any sense.

People don't understand money. I used to hang out on the "Financial Independence/ Retire Early" boards and oh dear God in heaven, if you aren't living in debt, paycheck to paycheck you are so fucking DEPRIVED. Life isn't worth living because they believe that you are eating Ramen Noodles 3 times a day.

Having a savings account is a foreign concept to these people.

The reason why they get so angry at people giving monetary support to what they consider undesirables is because they can't get that kind of support, most of them couldn't get that amount of money even if they were auctioning themselves off.

They are utterly enraged and screaming like Satan that anyone would not only dare to oppose them but put their money where their mouth is too. They can eat shit and die mad. There's more where that came from too.

Isn't it ironic that this gets discovered when I thought he is finally gone. I don't mind tho. However, I thought he enjoyed his vacation and going to the gym. Why come back when you enjoy yourself so much?
3 days must be some kind of record tho.

"Whinny fanboys." They can't all be bronies.

I went to take a break, and forgot that the department was having a potluck today. Boy do I feel stupid. Well I get paid on a salary so it's not I had to clock out to shitpost. Since I've got some spare time I'll address a couple stray points I missed in the first post I guess.

I admittedly used "half a month's pay" deliberately to add that extra impact, and compare two weeks to over twenty years. If I was perfectly honest that should say "...half a month's pay*...
*where cost of rent is about a third of a month's pay." Again, I'm astonished that these cretins think I'm risking my budget for this. I'm pretty sure the fact that I can pay off my student loans places me as more financially healthy than like 90% of college graduates my age or younger.

As for better uses of a thousand bucks? Of course there are, but it's not like I'm seeing any of these oxygen bandits giving anywhere near that kind of money to anything, not even to things they wholeheartedly support. You apparently a six figures a year, Manjaw (given the state of her apartment I am heavily hitting X here) - have you ever given that much to anything? Like in total, not just in a single transaction. Every time I go to the grocery store I put in 20 bucks towards the local homeless shelter and animal shelter. Do you even do that much? No? I could be wrong, but seeing your conduct you have the caring heart of a shriveled peppercorn. Hell, that $1,000 donation even included a tip for GoFundMe, since I'm sure their support staff have been assaulted with bullshit complaints trying to take the GFM down and I feel bad for them the same way i feel bad for the Minnesota Ethics Board for all the stupid complaints Nick gets.

I have friends who put stupid amounts of money into cash grab trash like MMOs and phone game gachashit, heaven forbid I partake in an indulgence of my own.

Motivated by hate? What in that donation message implied there was any hate involved? Maybe you see any show of support as guided by hatred because the majority of you are hateful people.

Alright, let's see from the Kiwi who did it. Hey @Apterigo, are you going without rent this month to support a alleged pedophile? Or are you stable because you're not a waste of economic resources like those reeing at the moment?
The latter. Crazy how that worked out!

Ah! I'm massively exceptional and did bad math on this. I just took my yearly salary and divided by 12, and a thousand dollars is actually a lot closer to a quarter of my monthly pay. Then again after income tax, health, dental and life insurance, 401k and monthly needs like food and car payments it's probably back to being close to half. Just half my net pay, not my gross pay.

Boy do i have egg on my face.

Hi Martin! I'm assuming you're watching the thread and found my post since I highly doubt you bothered to look at my name in the GFM donation list, then realized at first glance that I was specifically using an artificial language only about 2 million people in the world speak.

Surprisingly, I'm not Nick. Hell, I'm not even a pay pig on his discord, nor have i ever superchatted him. I'm also not EVS, and I barely know anything about the guy. I guess you could count me under "Kiwi Farms" as long as you note that I'm a single person who made the conscious and informed decision to donate a small portion of my hard-earned and well-saved money to a cause I felt was worth supporting. The fact that I happen to have lurked KF for many years before finally making an account during early Weeb Wars shouldn't really matter much.

I say this truly and honestly, as after all this time I still don't know the answer: who are you, Martin?

Stop responding to twitter from the farms, it looks autistic. It's nice that you donated but every time you explain/justify it here it makes you sound defensive and stupid. You've gone from a nice, anonymous gesture to bragging about your financial situation for asspats on kiwifarms all while giving twitter harpies someone to argue with.
