Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

We need to get this thread back on track. The topic is interesting, but make a thread in off-topic if you want to keep discussing it.

Anyway...

A few points:
  • “Kenyan-born” still propagating the debunked birther conspiracy theory, huh?
  • Unless there’s zero overlap among followers between Trump’s two accounts, there’s no way the number is 92.4 million followers.
  • I love how 109 million followers is “obviously fake” but Trump’s potential 90+ million followers is totally accurate and believable, nay, too low for Trump.
  • They’re also pretending that Trump’s accounts have no bots and all followers are true and honest supporters. Come on, you know there has to be at least a few million bots in there.

Birthers were some of the biggest lolcows during the Obama presidency.

Why does the twitter count really matter anyways? It’s not that surprising Obama has so many followers since he had a lot of hardcore fans, a high percentage of which use Twitter. Bots are generally an issue too. It’s silly to think that just left wingers do it.

Regardless of how you feel about Trump, "Christian" or "godly" shouldn't be in your top 100 adjectives to describe him. He's a corporate shark who made his money through casinos, slumlording, and breaking up rent-controlled apartments.

Not to mention the adultery. Pretty sure God listed that in his top 10 no nos.

Celebrities supporting Obama? BAD
Celebrities idolizing Trump? GOOD

LOL at the Kanye 2024 presidency support. Kanye's not an "outside thinker", he just wants attention with the controversial opinions he shares. A 61 year old voting for a rapper for president, how sad.

Major doubt about the 61 year old female there. Source: Women don't call themselves 'female'.
I was going to say that the lack of cutesy username makes it seem like it might be authentic, but then read some past comments:

They were 53 just two years ago? Also their language usage sounds like that of a younger male. Ttough maybe she glommed onto the youthful dialect that permeates r/td. Middle-aged tranny is still on the table.

It's just people larping as different demographics they are not a part of just to seem like what they support affects a large range of people.

Realistically, I bet this guy is in his 20s-30s who never received much attention.

We have always been at war with Eastasia.

Amazing how they turn on someone the moment they leave the administration and become critical of Trump. It really shows that they’ve become increasingly cult-like.

The charitable interpretation is that people can change their mind about a hire based on how they do on the job.
I will give them credit for some things. When Jim Mattis was hired people on the subreddit praised him and they still did even when he stepped down. They were also very against John Bolton when he was hired and later stepped down.

I think Bolton may be the one universally despised by everyone, even Trump supporters. It was a mystery why he picked him because Bolton is a hardcore neocon, absolutely crazy, and with a completely shitty agenda. Among Trump's few good attributes is that he is not a fucking neocon at all.

The worry was he was going to bring neocon bullshit into the administration. Not only didn't he, but Trump apparently routinely mocked him in front of other people.

Trump has no responsibility for choosing anyone he brings into his administration. These things just happen, and he can't do anything about them. He can't be expected to know about anyone that he should hire on, like Kris Kobach, and it would be unreasonable for him to talk to someone like Rand Paul about good choices for foreign policy positions. He, and /r/The_Donald, must just trust to the fates. I love that conservatives actually believe this.

Mayans did actually invent wheels, but they were tiny and only used on toys. The lack of any large tamed animals to pull carts meant they never really became very popular, though wheelbarrows would still have been useful.

Well that's damned interesting. I knew they were intellegent but they seem to hit a brick wall when it came to certain advancements.

I guess lack of major development could almost solely be the fault of lack of horses /mobility if you think about it. Almost worth a dive

If we took away an exceptional individual's right to vote, how will Trump win in 2020?

While you guys are paying attention to that I am just going to be here wondering what is going to happen once Mexico collapses and becomes a Cartel State

People on The Donald arguing against universal suffrage. Apparently letting non-landowners vote is "a death sentence for civilization."

“Why do people call us fascists?”

While the MAGApede took a typically retrograde approach to it, the general concept that the Constitution is not some kumbayah peace to everyone document is true. Also he has bad math. The Constitution was adopted in 1789. The Fifteenth Amendment was adopted in 1870, less than a hundred years later. And the Nineteenth Amendment was ratified in 1920, a bit over 130 years later, not "hundreds of years later."

Also, neither of those amendments guarantee universal suffrage. They just prohibit denying suffrage based on race or sex. The Nineteenth Amendment was passed after the Supreme Court rejected the idea that the Fifteenth Amendment implied women had the right to vote, too.

Considering those amendments don't guarantee anyone the vote, just prohibit taking it away for a couple very specific reasons, which have been found not to apply to other categories, it is not specifically constitutionally prohibited not to grant the vote to anyone for any other reason. A state could prohibit homosexuals from voting, or people with red hair, without violating either of those amendments, or assign its electoral votes by having the state legislature do it, or rolling dice.

I'm pretty sure the MAGApede was specifically mad about letting black people and women vote, though.
