Alex is an Addict eh? On the one hand his past behavior seems to have laid the foundation for his current behavior/"addiction". It sounds to me (as other Kiwi's have speculated) that he is mixing narcotics with other narcotics or with alcohol or both. His extremely slurred speech and repetition of certain thoughts are giant red flags that he is fucked out of his mind.

But, if he is faking it he is doing a damn good job. The only reason I mention that is the white powder on his dresser, conveniently located next to a credit card, seems to be a bit on the nose and him going through theatrics such as "being ab addictwouldn't surprise me at all.

All rambling aside, I am on the fence about how serious this is, however, he should know that you can't get an asshole to represent another asshole because it makes the other asshole just look like a rectum. In other words, this is not endearing and is putting him in a glaring, unflattering spotlight.

He's not a practicing nurse nor is he in nursing school yet, so he wouldn't have any clients. The way he talks about his school situation is a bit confusing because to my knowledge he's never outright said whether he's finishing his undergraduate degree or has already finished and is completing a certificate of some sort. He's just said he's not in nursing school yet.

Also he's said he works in healthcare but on the clerical side, so again, he wouldn't have any clients. The Veiled person is probably one of his personal friends or acquaintances.

She's disabled and in a wheelchair but I don't know the specifics of her disability. She's a pretty cool/funny person.

That's why I think they're probably just acquaintances rather than good friends. Like friendly enough that he would shout her out if she asked him to, but not close enough that he would alienate part of his audience by defending her.
