Don't get me wrong, Phil lies all the time, but he's not clever about what he lies about and he's often too truthful when he shouldn't be... That's why he's a lolcow.

We have no idea where he got those "values". You're trying to define parenting as if it's parents just inputting their beliefs into a child and the child thinks exactly whatever the parent "instilled" in them.

By the same logic his parents should be shameless street beggars. He had to have had that instilled in him, right?

It's almost definitely a combination of both (nature vs nurture is not one or the other, it's the ratio of the two), but what we can be sure of is that his parents made the environment that resulted in DSP. They probably just spoiled him and he had a little bit of the narcissism within him to begin with, but it sounds like his mom nurtured his feelings of entitlement and self-centeredness. Now they're both useful self-defense mechanisms for a scam artist - they protect his fragile ego and allow him to beg from kids/retards constantly without feeling so horrible about it that he eats a bullet.

i've always assumed if its stupidly retarded, like so fucking retarded someone would never admit to it that dsp must be telling the truth. why would someone admit to paying so much for a forum that hosts 10 people when he's supposedly constantly in debt

There also seems to be no true rhyme or reason to the subjects he chooses to lie about versus the ones in which he at least appears to be truthful. I've theorized before that Phil will lie for money or to create a circumstance in which he looks good, but if that were the case all the time then why would a grown man own up to getting his parents to fly cross country, presumably on their own dime, put themselves up in a hotel and spend a weekend performing simple home improvement jobs that most couples tackle on their own?

The only thing I can come up with is that DSP has such a twisted view on what parents owe their children that he believes this is a commonplace thing and therefore nothing to be ashamed about.

He said he did get them a very nice hotel room and let them drive his BMW around while they visited Washington. That was his gift to them.

Also, just browsing the latest posts on the forums, Death Stranding looks pretty terrible. Even IGN hates it.

If DSP plays this, it could be the most boring DSP playthrough of all time. It's literally a 40 hour series of fetch quests.

Are you saying because IGN doesn't like it that means it's bad? Or are you saying multiple people are saying it's bad? Because everything I've seen is 50/50. Most people seem to think the gameplay is boring but the story is stellar. Either way, I'm getting it, willing to see a unburdened Kojima let loose. That's a fair enough opinion. I'm more the opposite, I like a good slow burn story that makes you think over gameplay. Most games now a days are just repetitive things anyway, may as well have a good story instead of "go here, hold this position for 5 minutes" then rinse and repeat. Plus, I never trust IGN simply on principal.

I hope I'm right though, MGSV was a stinker imo, if this does end up being shit then my faith in Kojima may be done, and that's sad, been a fan of this man since I was 10. Made my childhood with MGS 1-4. I'm hoping this is just a polarizing game, not a bad game.

Phil's mom, Linda, apparently had the "I did nothing wrong. I did everything correct" excuse for everything. Linda did not work, so she was around Phil every moment he was home.

Linda did not work. She also was addicted to shopping. "I need that money. I really do".

Phil has admitted that he has adopted many of his mother's traits. This would make sense since he was around her so much.

Nothing is Phil's fault. Everyone else should be to blame for his poor performance. He expects others to pay his way. Phil doesn't have to work, he deserves a stipend to pave the way.

I'm starting to question Dave as well. At first he looks like a smart self made man. Then I learn he tattooed his own name on his arm. He tattooed his own name on his arm. He tattooed his own name on his arm.

Phil's parents weren't poor, but they are white trash. Mom smokes while pregnant and dad does nothing. Mom does Phil's laundry while dad spends hundreds to renovate Phil's condo.

No evidence? Watch the videos out there. Phil's mom sits like a slug while explaining how cats like to sleep. No dad in the picture because he is at work.

I agree that children can overcome their situation. As far as I know, none of Charles Manson's kids have become cult leaders. But Phil 100% took his mother's personality to blame every thing other than himself for failure and misuse money. You cannot say Phil just became a leech on his own when his mother was a leech too.

Who listens to IGN? Never forget they gave God Hand 3/10. The best quote I've heard for Death Stranding is "it's the Gran Turismo of walking simulators" or "Death Stranding = what if Breath of the Wild was boring.. on purpose".

He's going to suck at and hate the game though with so much pending dead air as he fails to amuse himself and everyone else as well. Ostensibly the game looks to be a driving game only your vehicle is a human being for much of the experience. DSP is terrible at driving games that require you to actually pay attention and course correct across terrain. It looks like a chillstream game in the making but just wait and see how many times he falls down hills and loses his cargo because "those rocks came outta nowhere!".

What's the over/under on how much time is dedicated to shitting on Kojima when he slogs through Death Stranding? We all know he can't resist, even though he'll preface his playthrough (or half-playthrough, cause he'll wage quit eventually) by singing the praises of how he actually DOESN'T hate Kojima and that those TIHYDP idiots took his comments out of context, but that he really does like Kojima. Even though around 30 minutes into the game, he'll be bitching about how Kojima sucks and is a total nudnik...

Phil is known for playing some boring ass games (or somehow managing to make a game look boring), it'll be the same case with Death Stranding by the looks of it save for maybe the combat/sneaking segments here and there

I can already see the game be moved to the 2nd stream 2-3 streams after he plays it if it's seriously just about doing fetch quests
