Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Making a shitty star wars movie that intentionally shits all over 40 years of Star Wars media and its fans isn't evil or the downfall of western civilization or whatever.
I agree, calling Disney evil is a bit of an overrea..c..
ending the production run on old movies
Princess Bride

Okay, The Mouse has gone full Evil, time to get the pitchforks and Torches.

Johnson is like that little teacher's pet scumbag at school and college, he sucks up to the teacher while throwing his students under the bus so save himself.

I see what you're saying, but I think its more of an inverse thing.

Making a shitty star wars movie that intentionally shits all over 40 years of Star Wars media and its fans isn't evil or the downfall of western civilization or whatever.

What is concerning is that Disney, a wealthy corporation, gave $400 million dollars to someone someone who's movie pitch was "You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to subvert expectations and break some new ground, by just start shitting on everything star wars, including (and especially) the film that immediately preceded mine. No Star Wars film has done that. Also FEMINISM and diversity." That fact no one said 'Whoa, hold up here chief, maybe Captain Tumblr won't sit too well with our core audience, maybe we shouldn't actively try to piss off the core fans and directly insult them int he filrm', instead they went along with and they burned it down to try to refute claims of being unwoke or something...that's what worrying. the fact the people in charge so completely disconnected from reality, and have such a level of control.

or to put it a little more succinctly:
If you're on a cruise ship, You don't get too worried when you see some drunk pilot their boat over a waterfall.
You get a little worried when you see another cruise ship go over.
But you get much more worried when you hear the captain of the cruise ship you're on talking like the captain of the cruise ship that just went over the falls.

Re: Marvel Star Wars
Star Wars isn't meant to be "serious" but it IS meant to be played straight; its operatic melodrama the opera in "Space Opera" isn't because they're singing. This is why you have Alec Guiness wondering where his life went wrong, and putting up with Cushing going around the set in bunny slippers - you need your characters to have gravitas, you need to believe they believe this space wizard shit matters.

Comics were always a lot less serious, more about action and what's happening on screen right now, and more relevant to the time they were created, so wacky zingers and 'modern' jokes work better. Superheroes are supposed to be about what you could do if you had powers.
Star Wars is about a whole other world, a galaxy far removed from what's going on with your life. Yo momma jokes don't work there.

It's not evil on the level of murder, but it's still a kind of evil.

BTTF was fox wasn't it?

Back To The Future? No, that's Universal.

Interesting, anything that would make me feel like less awful after i watch it (I will watch the expanse but right now i need to balance depressing stuff so it doesn't get overwhelming since i'm already feeling down)
I been waiting for the Belters to do a knockoff of Gundam's Sieg Zeon every time they're REEEing about how mistreated they are by Earth.

Much like Timothy Rose, Hamill, D&D and others, it seems Anthony Daniels has finally spoken up too and he isn't too happy about how things turned out either. A pleasant yet sad surprise since he's been so quiet for so long.
Anthony Daniels said:
The actor says: "Well, yes. I do understand why the fans are unhappy... It speaks to a devotion that they care so much that they mind if someone messes with it. I understand people being critical of the films."
He has remained fairly silent until now, while stars like Mark Hamill have dropped loaded comments online and in interviews.
Daniels says: "I know it has been particularly difficult for him (Hamill) lately because the new movies haven’t given him much to do. I certainly recognise that and can relate to it.
"In these new movies, I have felt like a table decoration. And that is difficult because I recognise this character (C-3PO) is worth so much more. But I understand it is a whole film, not a feature about C-3PO.

"That is just my personal disappointment. I get paid whether or not he does anything but it would be nice for him to have a purpose."
Star Wars 9: Anthony Daniel is C-3PO
Says it like it is. Much like Ackbar, 3PO was reduced to a decoration in the background who said and did nothing aside from doing a stupid and pointless red arm joke courtesy of JJ.

Uwe at least had a pretty good vision for Star Wars.

I'd actually pay to see this cluster fuck.

Why the hell would KK retcon Legends though? Was adapting the material into their trilogy mentally challenging?
I suspect it was due to them not wanting to pay any royalties and keep all the money for themselves and that they're lazy as shit and wanted to take the safest OT-focused route which is what that twit Iger wanted. But according to Leland Chee, he claims it might've been due to Chewbacca's death, but even that's highly questionable and would only have required a retcon of post-25ABY content.

I’d rather they not touch Legends. It’s been said before but the one saving grace in Disney “decanonising” what came before means that they can never touch it and taint it with their own shitty additions. And anybody with fond memories of old Star Wars who hates nuWars can easily disregard anything lacking Lucas’ seal of approval as non canon in their eyes.
This is honestly why I would prefer to just see SW put out of its misery. If they bring old canon or start over with a new one, they'll probably fuck it up even more than the Disney canon.

I confuse Channing Tatum with the other guy from 21 jump street. Is he the shorter one? if so, I love the idea of a fat short guy in Maul face paint being the protag. I also want to see Jar Jar completely decked out in bling and gaudy pimp clothing.
It will have the additional entertainment of Boll beating the shit out of his critics instead of just 'muh dick'
Any good KOTOR mods? That's my really big entry into the universe.

They nuke Earth with asteroids in the fifth book and it's one of the more interesting plot points in the series.

I am now firmly in this camp.

I wasn't a huge Star Wars fan by any stretch, but my dad sure as shit was. He knew fucking everything about the series, big and small and he'd read basically everything about the series. If I had any questions, he could answer them, and it was a way we honestly bonded a bit when I was little. I held onto a few of his old books long after he and mom divorced, and one of them was a big book on ships and vehicles in Star Wars.

Of the maybe 110 or so ships in this book, the removal of Legends deletes all but 33 of them.

At first I thought this was disrespectful, but on retrospect, it's anything but. They're safe from Disney. They remain untainted and unraped by the house of Mouse, forevermore beyond its slick black tentacles. We will never need to worry about seeing Dash Rendar or Talon Karrde get a personality-ectomy by Kathleen Kennedy, never see the Dark Trooper project as interpreted by Chuck Wendig, and never see Mara Jade reinterpreted as a black woman and changed into yet another lens for woke politics.

They're safe. And that one giant mistake is the one thing the fandom has to hold onto right now.

have you ever asked how often Han let Chewie cuck him with Leia after they got married?
