I think they're desperate for approval from a man who's father-aged and, as far as they know, kind. They're desperate to share what they like with him, mostly in the form of their favorite games, and yeah, most of their identity is the labels they give themselves. A lot of "trans" kids will enter chatrooms and scream WHO'S TRANZ??? I'M TRANZ!! like if they were a horny drunk guy walking into a bar looking for chicks. The difference is they just want attention and validation.

I get it, it's a damn good game and there's plenty of potential for goofing off, but this was almost a chore to listen to. He lets the radio go off constantly, moans about how Otis bitches at you if you get interrupted, whilst running in circles doing nothing wasting bounds of time, losing tons of potential survivors then whines like a hyperactive hamster trying to escort one or two of them to the safe house before the next part of the story expires, and fucks it up when one of them dies because he doesn't protect them for shit, having joked the entire time how utterly shit the survivor AI was. All the while cracking peepee jokes and painfully lusting after Jessie.

How he managed to finish Overtime mode is a goddamn mystery. For someone who's played the game a few times before, it's surprising to see how little game sense Joel had the entire time.

It's that weird anxious feeling of knowing something horrible is about to happen and being unable to do anything about it and it goes on for almost 16 hours.

Don't expect Joel to actually be competent at any games other than fighting ones.

I saw somebody “debunk” it by looking at the dates, but I’m still not completely sure if it was faked or not. If so, I actually feel really bad for Vinny. To what extent she was connected to him is where the confusion comes in.

The chat log I linked was from /v/, and as you pointed out, it was supposedly debunked because of some inconsistencies with the timeline. Regardless, I definitely believe that Vinny and SgtFgt were doing the ol slip n' slide, and the fact that the logs were allegedly posted on /v/ by her makes me feel like, even if they are fake, there is truth to them. Plus, as I said sometime earlier in the thread, there's a recurring theme of Vinny being a boob guy, since in the logs he refers to himself as a "tithound" and other weird shit, while in an official Vinesauce video (the drunken CSGO one), he tells a story about a friend who nicknamed him "The Tit Doctor." Not hard proof, but definitely something to consider.

I'd be pretty interested in having someone who was more cognizant of the SgtFgt drama talk about it. I was a fan at the time so I knew that some behind the scenes shit was going down, but I was pretty young, so I didn't know where it was happening/how to find out about it. The real gag will be if SgtFgt herself rises from the murky depths and drops a bomb on everyone that it was all true and she has evidence to prove it.

As for Vinny being a lonely fuck, you're right, but at this point it seems pretty self-inflicted. He's clearly charismatic and charming, and he had a great few years looks-wise where he definitely could've gotten any nice, nerdy chick that he wanted. (He's still attractive now, but that hair... ugh.) If you saw it before, we talked for a bit about some very old forum posts Vinny made (around age 19) where he talks about sleeping with his best friend's girlfriend, and the heartbreak from that relationship is implied to be the reason why he hasn't pursued anything serious for such a long time. That's all conjecture, of course, but it's something to note.

Your response is helpful, and I wish I actually watched the streams at that time instead of just the YouTube highlight videos. I saw something where Sgtfgt mentioned it was Vin himself that leaked the conversation, which that doesn’t make sense to me either. Like why would he leak something that doesn’t make him look good, or something personal at all? He wouldn’t even tell the chat verbally he got a call about his dog’s passing.

I think I got into Vinesauce when that drama was long blown over? idk I started with Captain Toad: treasure tracker which was in 2014.

He does mention that you should not ask him what any of his songs mean-- Mostly due to art that according to him misinterprets the meaning of whatever song the art is based on.

Looking back, still kind of a shitty thing to do, I guess, knowing that Vinny wants to avoid drama at all costs. I definitely wasn't threatening him or anything, just asking.

He wrote me an email back sounding supremely pissed. He pointed out the date inconsistencies and denied that the logs were real. He also said he wouldn't answer any more messages about this. Also straight up ignored me telling him I had been watching the streams for years and me thanking him for them lol. As I said, he's pissed. I wrote him an apology after that, but he stopped responding.

Wrote him another very short apology a year ago. He never responded to that either. Guess it's safe to say Vinny Vinesauce fucking hates me lmao. I don't care, though. I still enjoy watching his streams. After all, I'm not one of the people who want a personal relationship with a streamer.

I don't have those emails anymore. They were on my old email account. That's the typical ending to a made up story, I guess, but I swear on my homosexuality I'm telling the truth.

You probably weren't the only person contacting him about it. I'm willing to bet that quite a few people were emailing him asking about the situation, but it was obviously a sensitive subject because, in streams, he would either go nuclear on anyone who brought it up or quietly ban them. Just like the Vappy situation, I think that lends itself to the idea that there was definitely something going on that Vinny doesn't want made public - whether SgtFgt's logs were falsified or not, something about the situation with her was embarrassing or disgraceful enough that he preferred covering it up to owning up to it, even though it was happening in the semi-public eye (since she was really not shy about talking about it).

And, yeah, given how private Vinny is, I'm sure he didn't care about the pacifying praise of his streams as much as he did the privacy invading question of "so did y'all fuck though?" Not saying you were wrong to ask, cause I think anyone would want to hear the truth from the horse's mouth - but that horse is super concerned about keeping his personal life to himself, so it's damn near impossible to get anything concrete out of him.

I might go hunting for SgtFgt's old Formspring later on to pull some screenshots - I'm pretty sure she hasn't taken it down, and I remember some interesting bits of info from it that I want to confirm.
