What is it with tumblr artists regressing?

I dunno, the stylization and encouragement of laziness with art there I guess.

A lot of the big lolcow artists on here such as rcdart/rory and Andrew Dobson used actually have some decent artwork several years ago, but they just kept regressing and draw ugly proportions now.

on stylization, I think it's an identity thing where everyone wants to be a big self made brand name artist you can recognize instantly when you see their work, but the idea of NOT being that is so stressful that instead of working towards a goal they'll pursue short term solutions in the form of forced gimmicky "art styles" (that are less like art styles in the traditional sense where it's the innate habits of an artist and more in the "guys check out my new style! I draw eyelashes now" shallow sense).

Yeah, the two pic in the middle were posted by me a few weeks ago I think.
Also (if anyone curious) the character on the first pic is not Hatsune Miku but Hatsune Mina. It's a "fanloid" created by destinymoon, so technically Mina is just a recolored version of the original Miku. And Mina is also trans, just like all of destinymoon's ocs.
