I've already said this before, but aside from the increase in furbaiting my main issue is the repeated usage of concepts and design origins when there's still so much of both the animal kingdom and of myths/legends that aren't even touched yet. It's fine when it's similar creatures but distinctly different species and designs. Ariados and Galvantula are both spiders, but have different secondary typings and they are clearly based on different species of spiders. Stuff like that is perfectly okay.
But then you get into things like Whimsicott and Eldegoss. Two supportive Grass types (the former gained Fairy later) based on cotton. Slurpuff and Alcremie. Two pure Fairy types based on cream-related dessert. That's where it gets rather repetitive.
