Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Rate me super optimistic but i'm hoping for a day one patch to fix some of the issues like giving an option to turn the exp share off and maybe increasing the level of trainer pokemon by 5 for a harder challenge.

The fact that GF is still silent makes me think they are either scrambling to fix some of the issues or they are waiting for it to blow over.
There's a first time for everything and all that, but GF has never patched their games in such a way. The only time they do is for actual game-breaking bugs, like the Lumiose save glitch in X/Y. If they were any other company they probably would, but considering the blitzing speed in how they shove out these games, they're no doubt already working on the next ones and don't have time to even bother going back to "fix" anything in SWSH unless there's another serious glitch involved.

I think I'm starting to realize why it is they're "rebooting" the anime series by not entirely making Ash go directly to Galar (looks like he's still going, but it's not a big focus).
Wait, whad'ya mean rebooting the anime?

Lmao, if they restart after Ash won his first actual league, I'm gonna die laughing.

Changes and game details

I've mostly taken a "wait and see" approach with these games so far, but wow some of this sounds pretty bad. Short run time, no Elite 4, and little post game all sucks ass. Hidden Power, Pursuit, and Return are pretty big losses for the competitive crowd as well. These moves were good, but weren't completely overpowered.

To play devil's advocate, Frustration after raising a Pokemon for about 5 levels becomes worthless. I'm not to choked up about most of the other moves either. I mean, is anyone really going to miss such powerful, unforgettable moves as Egg Bomb, Mud Sport, Captivate, and the best move in the history of the series, Syncronoise (does anyone even this move was a thing)? Do you know if people are up and arms about Eevee's exclusive moves from Let's Go getting removed? If so, some of these people are giant hypocrites because I remember people doing nothing but bitching and whining about these overpowered moves and their dumb names.

I mean, I never doubted it but I'm still a bit surprised. Also, Do people like the Machamp line?

Even though I'm not on the hate train, I do think it would be a good idea for Papa Nintendo to come in and say "lemme give you a hand." IIRC I think Nintendo is kinda hands off on Gamefreak for reasons but it might be time to give some pressure and open up development. I think Pokemon would benefit from the Call of duty model where you have multiple companies working in a staggered cycle (not suggesting yearly, but maybe 2 teams each getting a 4 year development cycle).

Oh, what a surprise.

Oh my God, for reals? I actually had to get up to walk around for a few minutes to collect my thoughts, this baffled me so much. This is sheer laziness. I take it 3D modeling is still "new territory" for the sprite-makers, but how did no one look at this and go "That looks like shit"? This is what fucking amateurs do, and it's usually the first mistake that gets corrected real fast once you get the hang of 3D modeling. Taking away vertices will change the polygon, but adding to what's already absolute doesn't immediately conform the polygons into another shape, and is a waste of data. This is just to fool not just the system but also the higher-ups/newbies who don't know what they're looking for but will let it pass as long as it looks "smooth" when rendered in HD.

Is this a carryover of the 3DS model or from Let's Go?

It's an inconsistent mix of both.

I collected every pokemon up to what was in X/Y, I skipped sun and moon and ultra sun and moon because it looked like ass, but Sword and Shield is like series killing bad.

At this point they're going to have to start back in Kanto again anyways, because a full reboot is needed.

The fucking Atelier series now has higher production values than Pokemon.

I'm out the loop cause I'm too lazy to retrieve my password on Twitter, what happened with Serebii that we got a ISWV hashtag going?

I have no idea how SWSH defenders could have possibly thought they were going to win the argument over the Pokemon models/graphics in the long run give that this was going to come out *eventually*. Now we have complete and total knowledge that they not only fibbed about completely reconstructing every fucking model from X and Y, they also went out and made them worse and wasted so much time and resources for no reason.

The "You don't understand how the industry/animating works" crowd is going to have to hold this fucking L if they genuinely want to save face and not look like raving white knights for Game Freak, because there's no excuses now.

This whole serebii tag is probably just to deflect from that

the best move in the history of the series, Syncronoise (does anyone even this move was a thing)?
People (especially in the competitive scene) were aware the move existed, but I think most don't know about the move because of the little use you can get out of it.

>Base-100-power Special Psychic-type Move

Alright, sounds pretty dec-

>Only hits pokemon that share the user's typing

I'm sorry what?

Yeah, the major thing about the move that kept people from using it was that strict target requirement and it doesn't help that most pokemon that had access to this move were psychic types, a typing that resist their own moves (which in this case included Synchronoise). The only way that a pokemon could get some use out of it was if they could change their typing to match the opponent's (but of course they'll loss the STAB and, in some cases, leave themselves vulnerable to their opponent's attacks). The only pokemon that came close to that was Kekleon, but he didn't have a reliable way of changing it's typing (besides maybe protean).

They, like many pokemon, have their fans. Hell, I knew a pokemon youtuber that liked them.

I honestly have no idea what this is obviously its a wireframe of a charizard but i have no clue what the person is saying. The models in game look fine but i guess the annoyance is because GF said they cut pokemon to make the models better and this says otherwise?
The models are not only not improved, their filesize is artificially inflated through what appears to be sheer incompetence.
