I remember people used to make fun of him for claiming, among other things, that the Emperor had an official given name ("Dantius" if I recall correctly, which, to be honest, sounds a hell of a lot better in conjunction with "Palpatine" than "Sheev").Anyone remember Supershadow? I miss the days when he was made fun of on the star wars forums. I wonder what ever bacame of him?
Good times.
As much as I enjoyed seeing Jango Fett slaughtering Jedi Knights left and right in Open Seasons #3, I think the idea of the Battle of Galidraan was much better than the execution. Although Haden Blackman's script makes it clear that Jango's "True Mandalorian" mercenaries maintain certain ethical standards (other characters note that they don't harm non-combatant civilians), there's still a certain amount of narrative clunkiness imposed by Blackman's wanting you to see Jango as an unabashedly tragic figure on the one hand while simultaneously having him gun down armed rebels on behalf of a corrupt and venal planetary governor simply because the man claims to have information that might allow Jango to avenge his old mentor's death at the hands of the Death Watch faction. Dooku's "my God, what have we done?!?" moment immediately following the battle also comes off as rather hollow and confused, since it's not clear if he's reacting to the dead Jedi, the dead Mandalorians, the fact that he, and by extension the Jedi Order, were manipulated into acting as hitmen for a politician, the fact that the mercenaries he and his knights killed were technically acting on behalf of the local, apparently Republic-acknowledged planetary government, or what, exactly. So since we're talking about Mandos, is Jaster Mereel, the True Mandalorians and Galidraan still canon? Because you dont need Travis to show just how fucking exceptional the Jedi were in the prequel era, you just have to point to Galidraan.
