There's a bit more hilarity that happened that's being left out.
Basically, the only two people that have been "on the ball" throughout this entire weeb war are Nick and Jamie Marchi's lawyer. Her lawyer has been on the fucking ball, and earning that paycheck. He was the only one that has given reasonable attorney fees.
Meanwhile...
Ty had technical issues and got paper work in for the TCPA hearing late. He also boomer'd some notary laws in regards to affidavits provided by Chuck Hubert (take it or leave it,) and Slatosh (the Kamehacon owner.) Slatosh's was actually very, very damning as it included text messages and other things that literally proved, without a shadow of a doubt, that MoRonica committed TI. Once he found the errors, he quickly made them unsworn declarations, which were considered, but ignored. And then unconsidered. I'll get to Chupp later.
The WestNile Lemon man made a terrible powerpoint, and has been a scumbag piece of shit the entire trial. Come to find out...his clients may have been lying about paying for his services. His two superiors (who I forget the names of because they're more or less irrelevant) billed for their services to Funimation...bizarrely.
Volney charged a hundred grand for about twenty sentences total.
And Judge Chupp. Oh boy. Chupp is a boomer. Not just any boomer...I'm not sure if he actually believes twitter exists. He has stated many times that internet shit doesn't matter, has thrown out evidence because he didn't want to do the work, and has been basically trying his damnedest to let the appeal courts handle it. He ordered mediation, refuses to hold anyone accountable for their actions (unless they try fixing affidavits with unsworn declarations by ignoring that there was no way the defense would have been surprised by that,) and is just now seeming like he's realizing how badly he fucked up. That said, the one saving grace is that he's consistently lazy and consistently firm with his "the internet shit is irrelevant," right down to shutting down Uni-lung when he went after the go fund me. He also doesn't know what Defamation per-se means or what prima facia evidence means. Or what the TCPA law actually entails. Hell, he didn't even know what Vic looked like until Vic's testimony two weeks ago.
Anyway, it's a shit-show. Ty has become more serious about the case (to the point where he's gotten outside consul to handle more stuff and to deal with Chupp,) so things are looking up. I wouldn't be 100% optimistic though, because "Chupping it up" is a meme now for a reason.
