What happened at the hearing?

Long story short, Lemoine’s attempts to pad his bill and his obsession with the GFM blew up in his face and the decision to subpoena Vic backfired and potentially cost the defendants lots of expected money.

In other words, KV got bitchslapped financially and mentally.

I loved that part, too. He did say that he was "too tired at the moment" to open his own studio which hit me in the feels

This lawsuit is clearly still affecting him in some sort of way, even though he doesn't show it.

The thing is Vic didn’t want this lawsuit in the first place. He was forced to do it because his former friends were constantly dragging his name through the mud over and over until finally all attempts at meditating were irrelevant and he had no choice. Honestly, I don’t blame him.

I feel another reason why Vic was hesitant to sue was because he knows that this would drive a wedge between him and many of his friends at Funimation. He knows that friendships can end with one simple filing and that even if he is right, relationships will never be the same. It sucks and I personally wish it wouldn’t come to this, but Funi and their VA’s wouldn’t stop and when your livelihood and reputation is at stake, you have to make the decisions you don’t like, even if it’ll cost you a few friends.

Anybody who thinks Vic is doing this as some kind of quiet for vengeance are stuck in their bubble and have no understanding on human behavior. He was forced to sue. This isn’t about vengeance or grinding women into dust; it’s about justice and righting a near-fatal wrong.

Honestly, I can live with Marz and hanleia getting away. Suing them would be a waste of time and money anyway. There's nothing that Vic could win by suing them, they've got no money and their lives are already completely pathetic.

But, man...I can't really live with the thought of ANN and io9 getting away. Sure, karma got to them anyway, they're dying, but still. An official retraction of their articles and an admittance of them failing to meet journalistic standards would've been nice.

"Journalistic standards" are nothing more than an agreed upon set of rules that have been in constant flux since long before the radical left takeover. They are and never were functionally different than kids on a sandlot agreeing to the dimensions of their makeshift football field.

And there is no governmental regulation out there, governmentaly speaking, to prevent 'fake news' or hold anyone accountable for spreading the craziest shit imaginable short of outright treason or yelling fire in a crowed theater. And even those are likely to be fought out for decades in court if the press chooses. Per occurrence.

With that being the case, 'journalists' have determined 'freedom of the press' to be an all inclusive license to push agendas. With no actual consequence for lying, they are free to do as they will. The only real counter is to defund them through their subs/views/readership. But people rarely do that. Or sue them. And then you chance a Chupp scenario.

Of course he's mad. He's been trying to hide his identity for years on his Twitter account by vague tweeting his personal life but NEVER his children. His children have to be seen, it's why I included his tweets and not just the picture.

He’s likely going to appeal the fees anyway lol.
His boss apparently yelled at the judge at the fees and sanction hearing according to Ty, and now they want them to redo the fees, and explain their decision.
