It was originally looked at as an all or nothing for the clients. The current ruling, if it plays out as specified, is that Vic gets a chunk to pay but MoRon still get a hefty bill. I just find it amusing that their lawyer is now arguing a weaker case to run that up which seems like it would also have the added benefit of sabotaging their appeal. If we take it all at face value:If the TCPA is scrapped they no longer need their TCPA expert which is even funnier but they're stuck with him now
They currently owe something like $200k of a large attorney bill. The attorney is saying they should owe $0 on a half million bill? But convincing the court of that seems like it just runs up the bill higher, so unless you win, even if TCPA stands your tab just keeps running up. And if TCPA fails, you're getting slapped with a horrific bill once you lose the piece that Vic was supposed to be paying PLUS all the new costs from arguing it.
In a different way, it would be equally hilarious if Lemon argues that for a year and the judgement gets adjusted something like $1k but he racks up another $50k+ in fees arguing about it. Or something like that.
