If you ever go out to one of the far left rallies since ~2008, they follow a model spawned by Occupy Wall Street and popularized in the carbon copy protests ever since. It's what happens when you adapt parliamentary procedure to an organization overly concerned with consensus, because proper commie committees actually do require high amounts of consensus to move forward.
It's an echo of how proper Communists ran their meetings back in the days of union organizing and political revolutions. You can find similar documents coming out of 19th century agrarian communes or factory meetings. The OWS twist is that the format gets paralyzed by the modern need to accommodate everyone's
feelings, not just their ideas or objections.
Communal rule is supposed to be ultra-populist, but the disagreements are supposed to be on how to benefit the
whole community,
not any one sub-group. Catering to one group would create a social hierarchy, the very thing these meetings are designed to discourage. But the activists co-opting these methods are brainwashed college-coddled idiots, who
demand catering in the form of attention and validation.
A perfect example was that
disaster of a meeting by the Democratic Socialists of America, where people stood on "point of personal privilege", declared their pronouns, then whined about how no one listened enough to their group. Aside from the obvious hilarity, the self-important tone of that meeting exactly matches the tone in this TransEra meeting.
They're the same paradigm, except a forum with 1 owner, an oligarchy of overlords, and a capitalist consumer model, shouldn't be using that format to try and accomplish anything.
