Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

2019 has pretty much been the year of big nerd franchises ending. Game of Thrones, Kingdom Hearts, Star Wars, the MCU...I wonder what will the 2020s have in store for nerd culture.

Also aside from the MCU pretty much all the other ones have been seen as disappointing endings, from the least (KH) to the most (tie between Got or Star Wars, depends on how bad the leaks are).

The MCU will still be shoved down our throats next year, but it should have ended this year.

Kingdom Hearts ended in a way that allows it to continue with a new protagonist, and IIRC, the guys at Square even said as much.

Star Wars and Game of Thrones got the shaft pretty hard though. Also, didn't The Walking Dead also end this year?

Kingdom hearths 3.1 or whatever its gonna end up getting called is still gonna feature sora the fuck are you talking about
And walking dead ended when zombies became background decorations or ways to deus ex machina the death of some characters

All you have to do to consider the quality of the various Star Wars properties is to look at their cultural influences and use of quotes from same.

"I have a bad feeling about this"
"little short for a [thing]"
"These aren't the [thing] you're looking for"
"NOOOOOOOOOO"
"No, Luke, I am your father."
"become more powerful than you can possibly imagine"
"The [something] is strong in this one"
"Do or do not, there is no try."

Can you think of any lines from the Sequel Trilogy that will be this recognisable in, say, the 2040s?

Yeah, there was an attempt to forced-meme "sixty portions" but that failed.

Love will save us....

IIRC they tried to make Rey's "I never thought there was so much green :(" a classic line for a while.....obviously it fuckin failed. Also "thats not how the force works" from harrison ford, though thats usually used with bitter sarcasm by those who reference it these days

The closest thing they had to a genuinely popular line was this..

...and that meme fizzled out before TLJ even killed the franchise so...yeah no there really are not any memorable lines, either good in their own right or "so cheesy its hilarious" good.

Ridley is an unironically bad actress so she deserves that. Boyangle seems like he can act with a decent script, but he comes across as a real prick and liability irl, so he might be exiled to Straight-to-DVD Land as well if he keeps fucking up.
Did anyone on the Farms see the 2017 Murder on the Orient Express adaptation that Daisey was in? It looks Oscar Issac is the one out of three that will have a good post-TROS career.

You no what? No matter what happens to the show tomorrow. No woman will Be able to ruin the fact that this manchild toy will look great next to my man child boba and jango.

Yeah that's what I fear too, especially after Anita showed up on Twitter to whine about the lack of female characters and then claimed to be harassed.

God I can not stand these feminist and there constant bitching on social media. They ruin everything they get there disgusting little hands on. Star Wars being one of them. thanks Kathleen, you feminazi.

My dumbass will still buy it.

Any of you folks got a vintage collection?

Had a Darth Vader (the Revenge of the Sith Anakin with new hairpiece, better paintjob, Sith eyes and ultra-posable LEGS) before I sold that and the Vintage Collection ROTJ Luke, Regular Darth Vader and Grievous back in 2012 after my first gf left me after I went into the military.

Sold them off because that smug fuck Rian Johnson put it best- "Let the past die, kill it if you have to."

Except Star Wars was a huge part of my life and were sources of positive influence in the relationships I had that are now ended because of bad attitudes in entertainment that influence people you smug fat fuck! It's also the reason you're even ON anybody's radar, so stay the fuck away from The Mandalorian after your ungrateful, entitled and privileged ass is the reason there is zero interest in a once-proud, venerated franchise of Space Samurai, Flash Gordon and a dash of Legend of Condor Hero!

Keep collecting action figures that cater to quality, but beware of the insufferable normies who insult us while lapping this shit up. More often than not, we're getting a glut of obscure products being made like a second Age of Apocalypse Sunfire and freaking Count Dooku in black series because of these idiots more often than not, and not out of the love and dedication of the original fandom who've had to endure people like these.

one other thing that bothers me from this new "They fly now" trailer
the Empire is using a vehicle with wheels or they seem to be tank treads
Why use a small vehicle with low tech
while most vehicles in the Star Wars universe hoover/float above the surface or fly
I just find it stupid to use a vehicle with wheels when you have the option for a hoovering or flying vehicle

whatever.........

The jet packs don't seem that fast or mobile, in any real military situation they'd just be fucking skeet. The problem I have with it is Red Alert 3, where they have the circus cannons that launch parachuting attack bears. The fact that the thing they remind me of the point where the series just threw up it's hands and fully embraced the camp is a horrible, HORRIBLE sign for an allegedly serious entry in the Star Wars franchise.

Even the shittiest lines from the prequels are memorable

'I don't like sand'
'It's treason then!'
'A communications disruption can mean only one thing'
'It's over Anakin! I have the high ground!'
'She can't do that, can she? Shoot her, or something!'
'Now this is podracing!'

The sequels' writing is so utterly bland and soulless that they don't even have amusingly bad lines. Just complete mediocrity in every facet of the movie except maybe cinematography.
