A judge has ruled that a father fighting to stop his seven-year-old son from transitioning to a girl will be allowed to have a say in future medical decisions related to his child.

Jeff Younger has been battling his ex-wife Dr Anne Georgulas in a Dallas family court as part of their bitter custody fight over whether their child James has gender dysphoria.

Judge Kim Cooks ruled on Thursday that the divorced parents will have joint conservatorship over their child.
It means they will have to make joint medical decisions regarding their child, which includes whether James should undergo hormone replacement therapy to transition to a girl.

They will also have to jointly agree on haircuts for the child, as well as dental and psychiatric care.

The decision comes after a jury ruled earlier this week in favor of giving sole managing guardianship of James and twin brother Jude to their mother.

Georgulas, who is a pediatrician, has argued that James is transgender and wants the child to transition to a girl named Luna.

Her ex-husband, however, doesn't believe James has gender dysphoria and that his child is just experiencing some confusion with gender.

He has accused Georgulas of forcing James to socially transition into a girl by making the child wear dresses.
Just moments before the judge's decision was handed down, Younger told DailyMail.com outside court that he didn't expect the proceedings to go in his favor.

'I'm not anticipating a good result for my son,' he said. 'I think I'm not going to be able to stop the social transition of my son, which will probably lead to his medical transition.'

The judge put a gag order on both parents during the proceedings, which means neither can speak to media going forward.

As part of the judge's ruling both Younger and Georgulas will have to attend counseling.

The bitter court battle began when Georgulas filed a court request last year to change their joint custody arrangement to include a requirement that Younger start calling their child by the name Luna.

She said three mental health professionals had diagnosed James with gender dysphoria and that therapists had recommended they start using the name Luna instead of James.

Younger, however, filed his own request with the court to obtain sole custody of the twins to prevent the gender transition.

Georgulas and Younger married back in 2010 when they were members of the Orthodox Church.

They went through IVF to have the twins and requested their gender be male before they were born in 2012.
The couple annulled their marriage several years later.

Arguments over their child's gender began when Georgulas took James to see a gender therapist at the Children's Hospital Center.

She claims she had noticed James requesting girl-themed toys, that the child was imitating female Disney characters and had been asking to wear dresses.

The therapist recommended James start social transitioning by wearing dresses to school and going by the name Luna.

Their child currently identifies as a girl at school and is called Luna by her teachers.

Younger claims his ex-wife has been forcing the transition ever since their divorce and has accused Georgulas of starting to manipulate their child when James was just three years old.

He has accused Georgulas of locking James in the bedroom and telling their child that 'monsters only eat boys'.
Younger also claims Georgulas has been forcing the child to wear dresses.

In a podcast interview earlier this year with Christian political consultant Luke Macias, Younger insisted that his child is not a girl and that she 'violently refuses to dress as girl at my house'.

Younger went on to publicly accuse his ex-wife of sexually abusing their child.

'I want you to imagine having electronic communication with you son on FaceTime, and imagine that your ex-wife has dressed him as a drag queen to talk to you. He has false eyelashes and makeup. His hair has got glitter in it. He's wearing a dress,' he said.

'Now imagine how you would feel seeing what I believe is actual sexual abuse - I believe this is not just emotional abuse but is the very, most fundamental form of sexual abuse, tampering with the sexual identity of a vulnerable boy. Every. Single. Day.

'You have to see your son sexually abused, and you have to maintain your calm... because the courts are not going to be fair to you. And the only way you can survive this and get your son through this alive is to calmly allow your son to be tortured right before your eyes and outlast the opposition. That's what it's like.'

Separate from the custody court battle, Younger has been campaigning to prevent his child's gender transition.
Websites and Facebook groups called 'Save James' have been set up and there is a GoFundMe page with about $40,000 in donations to help with Younger's court costs.

As part of the judge's ruling, the websites will now have to be shut down.

Considering the mother is hell bent on trooning out the child and poisoning him and the father is adamantly opposed to that, I don't see how this works. This is really making the argument for the Texas legislature that they just need to outlaw what the mother is demanding entirely.

I concur. What they need to do is classify trooning out kids as what it is, child sexual abuse, and make sure that everyone who tries it loses custody and has to register as a sex offender.

I've heard a bunch of back and forth about the ruling, but haven't been able to find the thing itself; Ace (the blogger) is saying that this is a fake compromise, that the judge will have the tie-breaking vote which means the mother gets what she wants. Other people have been saying that this is a win, each parent has veto power over medical decisions by the other. Not sure what the truth is and frankly, I'm not sure that it matters. Given that the step-mom is already the grand slam of risk factors and the system sided with her anyway because wammanses, I'm reasonably sure that she could be caught on video beating the boy with a belt buckle, screaming at him to wear the dress, and "family court" would do precisely fuck-all.

The women at work thing has been twisted, just as the gender role thing has. What was a sensible and genuinely positive movement has turned nightmarish.

Getting women into STEM and to succeed at work started as telling girls ‘hey, science is really interesting. It’s not just for boys, there’s no reason you, a girl who has previously been told not to bother your lady brain, can’t end up at CERN. Here are some programs to encourage girls.’ When I was at school, I was genuinely told that science was for boys. That’s the sort of thing we were fighting against.

Somewhere and somehow, this got twisted. We used to tell girls they couldn’t like science/engineering/whatever. Now we tell girls if they like science/engineering/whatever they aren’t actually girls.

The same goes for boys by the way. It was positive to tell boys that it’s fine to be masculine but also totally fine if they wanted to go into a traditionally female/nurturing role. So we’ve gone from telling boys that nursing (or whatever) isn’t what boys do to telling them that if they like that they’re actually girls.

What I find fascinating is HOW that happened. And why. Is it some weird societal inertia or is it something that’s encouraged and ‘nudged’ by those in power?

I find it incredibly depressing. We really were getting there with letting kids play with whatever toys they wanted, relaxing dress stereotypes etc. The whole trans thing really wasn’t something I expected and I will be interested to read what historians think of it (should I live that long, or should the people working on Android bodies get a move on...)

Edited to avoid double posting. Trooning out kids is absolutely CSA. And it should be seen as that by social services, who are currently complicit in the abuse of children. Even worse, the movement is grooming society at large, to accept this.

It’s a form of abuse that seems driven by the female parent as well - to me it seems a form of MBP.

My crazy ex wife really wanted a girl but we ended up with a boy. She tried dressing him up as a girl saying it was cute and I put a hard stop to that. This was around 15 years ago, I wonder if it had happened now she would have tried to troon him out.

Jeffrey Mateer, First Assistant Attorney General, wrote a letter to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services imploring the department to open an investigation and use its emergency powers to protect the boy from "permanent and potentially irreversible harm by his mother."

the whole letter makes it pretty clear that they expect dcfs to do something about the mother's obvious mental illness.

Is there any type of pinpoint where this shit started to become a thing? I only noticed around 2013 but it had to be deeper than that (I left uni a few years prior and LGBT clubs there were pretty low key and chill, women's studies had a couple courses but gender studies wasn't a thing).

The other thing I think is being ignored is the class divide. In middle-to-poor families with multiple siblings you get hand me down toys and clothes, and they're usually gender ambiguous at best but usually masculine, though girls may inherit a bunch of old church lady shit from older female relatives that they wouldn't be caught dead in and continue to wear their graphic tees and carpenter jeans instead. Not to PL but I was in school 25+ years ago and this was pretty well known and accepted (as well as the godawful homemade androgynous haircuts but I'd prefer to suppress that).

Basically, dressing in a gender-ambiguous way and playing with the "wrong" genders toys was a total non-issue, it just meant only the rich kids could afford the most gender-specific fashion and toys (wearing JNCO jeans or dressing like the Spice Girls, nice professional haircuts, playing with Nerf Guns or Polly Pockets, you know the shit I mean). And everyone knew it. And it makes me wonder, is it still partially a class thing? Most troonparents seem to be upper middle class which could be inaccurate due to reporting bias but I'm still curious about how it spread.

I can only imagine if I were born 20-30 years later, seeing my boomer ass dad absolutely hit the fucking roof upon being told by some self-righteous school-appointed associate degree windbag that lel are yer kids are transsexuals now, you got no say in the matter.

I'm 99% sure I know the legendary 'hipmom' in real life, and after reading these posts I made a new account just to confirm that yes, she exists (because she is scary, and it is 'instant social death' if you cross her.) If it's not the same woman (a few details are different, but the reddit OP did say they'd changed some things to CYA a bit) then there are two near-identical 'hipmoms' right here in the same city, which I don't even want to think about.

My case:

- She has three boys (not four) who are now one boy and two girls
- The first trans kid (middle child) is named for a 'gender-nonconforming music legend,' and he was suddenly 'transed' out of the blue at 3 when the third son was born
- The youngest was then also declared a trans girl as a toddler, 18 months sounds about right to me
- they do live in Hollywood
- she is Jewish with a major persecution complex/SJW to the max
- she is on every PTA committee and is 'class mom' for everything, lots of social influence/power
- from what I understand, the dad (who is a very highly-paid, professional, 'non-Jewish jock WASP type') is only recently back in the picture after a long split that I thought had ended in divorce (they were battling over money and custody in court for ages), but perhaps they called it off at the last minute? Maybe he took one for his kids and decided he'd better be there when blockers and hormones come into the picture (or maybe he realised his lifelong financial obligations to her if the divorce was final would allow her to go totally insane with surgery and shit for the kids with no hope of him reining her in.) He's back, anyway. They talk about 'the divorce,' I'm just not sure if it was called off or if they just reunited after it was done. They definitely split over the youngest kid being transed, though.

Her oldest (11, I think) seems like a regular boy and also like he's pretty over his mom's activism on behalf of his 'sisters,' but the middle child (AKA 'Mercury') and the preschooler are just totally normal girls, y'all! 'Mercury' is always dressed as a real girly girl, the preschooler seems to be more her 'tomboy girl,' but both live as girls in terms of clothes and pronouns full-time. 'Mercury' is a moody and sad little thing, while the preschooler honestly doesn't seem to grasp that he's a different kind of girl yet - why would he, that young? Mom gets so much attention and glory from being the 'trans kid mom,' her FB has so many pictures with rainbow filters it could blind you... but, interestingly enough, you can see her getting fewer likes and comments with every 'isn't she lovely?' pic she puts up of her 'girls,' I think people are over it, and I'm not surprised she was the subject of a 'peak trans' story on GC, it's very obvious who's driving the trans train in that family and it is not her kids.
