Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

This is why her entire fucking character is just a flat "Oh I heard all the stories about the original trilogy and and and I want to find my place in this universe and stuff" and is why her whole "journey" reads like a fucking on-rails theme park ride where she is shunted through the "classic" scenes and meets and is immediately and unquestioningly embraced by classic characters like she is a fucking 4 year old meeting Disneyland mascots.

That's part of what makes a Mary Sue by the classic definition before it started just meaning any OP character.

In a way you can see why Hollywood went for the Mary Sue style of storytelling, after all there’s so much fan fiction out there, it should be a license to print money, right?

But it all goes back to Snakes on a Plane, back in 2006 Snakes on a Plane memes were everywhere on the internet to the point that they had reshoots to try to please the internet.

But did all that internet attention make the movie a smash hit? Nope, because for whatever bizarre reason the internet is a pretty isolated thing, even today, if you want something to be a hit it has to appeal to normies as well, not just the hardcore.

I remember watching Snakes on a Plane in a theater and the reatards in the audience took it seriously. I was the only one laughing AT it. Sad.

1: Maybe they're not allowed to freely expand on anything that takes place between VI and TFA until the shitty "Journey to Plan 9 project" is complete which currently has no set end date. Disney wants to pump out as much sequel shilling crap as they can from now until summer (and possibly beyond), and they probably don't want the Mando to interfere or go to familiar places until they're done raping the legacies and locations of the OT. Also since planets are still getting destroyed or fucked over in sequel shit and Marvel's comics (and they want to butcher the Empire some more for the FO set up) that might explain why the series is currently restricted to donut steal planets. Wouldn't be the first time Disney has put down a restriction like this.
They dont have to go somewhere we have been before. just make it less generic than a random Star Gate planet.

2: Filoni and Favreau might be expecting viewers to already have pre-existing knowledge of SW lore before watching this show, the problem is Disney drones aren't that knowledgeable about their own DisneyEU lore and even less knowledgeable about pre-Disney Star Wars EU lore, and even then only a small minority of Disney drones are familiar with both canons, or at best only know about Mandos and lore from Filoni Wars. And this a major problem since this show is trying to somehow connect both canons which just doesn't work. Like bringing back Byss despite that the Emperor no longer has any ties to it now that Dark Empire has been replaced with Plan 9. It also doesn't help that there's no easily accessible database for casual viewers to go to for info on new stuff and Disney's "world building" due to Wookieepedia being such a mess full of stubs, red links and even more confusion since the Disney buyout.
I dont know if they are good at writting scifi stuff. maybe they should have gotten somebody who had a good Scifi TV show before.
Just show up with a truckload of money at Ronald D. Moores home if you want to make another Scifi series...

Generic trope combined with a lack of proper world building. I also find it odd how the new girl in the show demands the Mando get off the planet because she was there first. I mean, its a fucking planet, not a tiny island. Just tell him to fuck off to the other side. The place is mostly barren forests with probably hundreds of villages to chill in.
I was fine with the new girl not wanting a high value bounty target on her planet. It also wasnt super clear if she was so serious about it or if was mostly banter.
We dont know how those tracking thingys work, maybe she didnt wanted to have a major ping right next to her small one on the map.
I had bigger problems with her beeing just a Female Mando. make her lose in the brawl with Mando, make her a worse fighter but a better soldier, let her drill the villagers and come up with a defense plan while Mando goes Rambo in the woods. Let her Action in the Village be the reason they win and survive.
Mando could be a dick before and looking down on soldiers, just to come around and value her different point of view and experience in the end...

I just realized something about this poster:
Rise-of-Skywalker-posters-1-600x911.jpg

That mysterious black lady to the right of Chewie? That's probably the as-of-yet-unseen sister to Finn.

MORE LEAKS CONFIRMED.
Is 3PO carrying a fucking 240B?

Is he the "Animal Mother" of a galaxy far far away?

The Mandalorian is quietly attracting fans and Favreau is rebuilding a bridge that the Sequels had burnt. Suddenly:

"Nice bridge you're building there. Be a shame if someone decided they wanted to subvert audience expectation in regards to bridges."
Memology has just done a video, covering Rian Johnson's hope that he'll find the time to do for the TV show what he did for the movies.

Alright, lets play a game. You get to take one retconned character and add them to ep 9, they can do 1 action that would make you love the movie despite how shit it is. Only rule is they cant completely swerve the plot of the whole movie.

Mara Jade.

I'd have her appear in the final act in which she decapitates Rey and then flips the bird at the screen

The disco version of Star Wars starts playing and we cut to the end credits.

Alright....
At this point if pic related actually happened in some form what would your honest reaction. My expectations for this movie are on the floor at this point, and i still like kylo as a character. So just give him vader talking to him through the force in the same way obi wan did luke. Fuck it, just fuck it, if these movies are gonna be pandering garbage, make it fuckin sick pandering.

Jedi Vader in all white armor looks pretty rad in my opinion. I would like Kylo to turn back to the light and Rey to go full blown dark jedi or sith lord in 9. Kylo kills Rey and is seen wearing white armor in reference to the comic above. perhaps kylo would be pursueded back to the light by the force ghost of Vader/Anakin himself.

It'd have to be somebody already ruined by Disney, as i don't trust the storyboard group to not royally fuck any EU character that i like.

Han Solo; only returns to laugh at Kylo's ghost for being the only person in SW to die from falling down a pit.

Kylo kills Rey

Shit, I'd watch episode 9 just for that honestly. Mostly because I know the Twitter meltdown from the SJW/nu-male soy boy/reylo crowd would be glorious.

Have them duel it out and then have Rey on her knees as Kylo holds both of their lightsabers to her neck a la Anakin and Dooku. Then have Kylo say that stupid "Let the past die" quote of his as he decapitates Rey.

The collective tard rage and reeeing from that alone would send my sides to fucking orbit.

If anyone's got a Mando ep 4 link I'd appreciate it. My Disney plus has been out of commission for like two weeks now and Disney support is basically like, "huh idk so call back tomorrow."

Ep 3 thoughts: There doesn't seem to be any weapon in star wars that fills what I would call a submachinegun role. Every small arm seems to be similar: they fire on semi auto regardless of range or tactical situation. The only exceptions seem to be crew served weapons like an E Web or the bitching minigun that the heavy mando uses. Rewatching episode 3 I can see a few sequences where a submachine gun is ideal. The stormtroopers hunting the mando in the dark had E-11s, which allegedly fill the SMG role, but they don't use them like it. When the Mando was fighting off the group of bounty hunters at the end a SMG would have served him better than his pistol since he could have just stuck it up over cover and hosed to suppress and get some breathing room. It's even more apparent in episode 1 when he and IG-11 are pinned down and he either has a long rifle that's too long to use or his pistol with limited range.

What's more I notice this across Star Wars as a franchise.
