He was reading off a prepared script he had in front of him. This would prevent the worst tangents that Alzheimers can inflict on ones train of thoughts.

if you can get access to it, https://www.j-alz.com/content/track...eimers-disease-diagnosis-case-study-comparing This study is FASCINATING.

In short,m the earliest signs of Alzheimers are incredibly deceptive. Changes in modes of speech, slight dips in the train of thought, that slowly compound over time. What makes Alzheimers particularly interesting is that it has no consistent time of progression. So while he showed signs of it at the start of his second term, his was a slow degradation that had not severely impacted him by the end.
Found it for you.

Reagan may have begun developing Alzheimer's by the end of his 2nd term, however, his condition by the very end of his presidency was impeccable in comparison to Biden's current state (at least phenotypically). Seriously, compare the Biden speech with Reagan's farewell address:

Watching that made me curious about a president's farewell address, so I went looking into it:

My, have times changed...

His was a slow degradation. As a hospice volunteer, you are likely interacting with those at the later stages or with aggressive cases.
No. I've dealt with people in many stages of the disease. Very often, a patient will be dying of something else when they come to us, and only begin to develop some form of dementia while they are expiring from other causes. I've also volunteered for other, related organizations which are non-hospice related, and which begin their engagement with patients well before the end stage.

The point is, slow or fast, four years is a long time for an Alzheimer's patient. They won't generally exhibit total decline during that time, but I doubt they'd be as together in the fourth year as Reagan was in his public appearances at the end of his second term.

To quote from the thing that was thankfully provided by Dante.

"President Reagan was not diagnosed with AD until August of 1994, but the results of our analyses suggest that changes in speaking patterns were becoming detectable years prior to clinical diagnosis. Analysis of his transcripts revealed significant differences in variables known to be associated with the onset of dementia. We found that the use of unique words in the discourse of RR declined over time, and the use of non-specific nouns and fillers increased over time."

or, put more generally. Reagan did in fact show the early signs of alzheimers much earlier than his diagnosis.

I see the changes in the speaking patterns. I don't know if they were caused mainly by Alzheimer's.

Read the article, they cover the only salient objection and show it is unlikely.

I read it. I think their model is oversimplified. But I doubt we're going to agree and I doubt it's important.

Edit: They anticipated my objections, in fact. I am now inclined to think that their thesis is correct. Thank you.

Of course, this doesn't mean that he was anywhere near as gone as Biden seems to be. Watching Joe makes the hairs on my arm stand up. It's familiar and yet alarming.

My stance the entire time is that Joe Biden is WAY farther than Reagan ever was. It was my original thesis, in fact.

I am not sure what form of mental degradation Biden has, that he has one is obvious though. Someone more dedicated than I could try to find out when he started showing symptoms, but it is clear that he is either towards the middle of his degrading trajectory or his case is an aggressive one.

When the voices in your head tell you your son's Ukraine shenanigans will fuck up your 2020 campaign trail:

Here's a thought for you. If he does have some form of neurological degradation, which he very probably does, one of the first things to go is recall of events. Its entirely possible he actually believes Hunter Biden has done absolutely nothing wrong.

Is everybody ready for a bunch of articles about how Joe Biden's health issues are pure fake news and conspiracy theory
I hope they go with that. And I hope it works... until he gets on a debate stage with Trump who will proceed to run circles around him while Biden stands there confused. The media and the DNC still don't understand that they can't hide Biden forever.

This game has a boss level and he goes by the name God Emperor.

No shit Lisa Page is a survivor. She got fucked by this guy and lived!

I'm still stunned that this actually happened, it was like the FBI was suddenly staffed with cartoon supervillains, and the guy in charge of the whole thing was Dick Dastardly.

Has this guy been removed from duty yet? has he been fired? After this court performance, I can't see why not.

The fact that Biden, and indeed many of the DNC top officials, has some form of dementia is given extra weight by the fact that the Democrat playbook is to always accuse the Republicans of what you're doing.

And what did they spend a ton of time screaming right after the election, with occasional outbursts since? "Trump has dementia! Trump has Alzheimers! Trump is senile!"

Remember back when it got leaked that the most prescribed medication for the DNC was Alzheimer's medication?

Yeah, that fucking report got memory-holed fast, the author shit-canned, and they went hunting for THAT fucking leak like it was someone smuggling nuclear secrets to Botswana.

He definitely got fired. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy... except maybe the former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe. That motherfucker got fired right before he was set to retire and get his pension.

If Biden gets the nomination there is no way they are going to let him debate Trump. They will say that Biden is not willing to debate such a vile racist/give him a platform to spew hate/etc. The Democratic voters will all agree and cheer the decision and everyone else will see the choice as what it is.

They might not be able to hide him but they will do everything in their power to make sure he doesn't face any questions or debate tougher than CNN would throw at him.
