So apparently this is the guy gifting all of the troll subs. He claims he is cheating the system and Phil isn't getting the money.

I was thinking about this, and I'm not buying it, because if it was true, Phil's subcount wouldn't go up. When people were doing that "fake" subbing before, the subcount wouldn't change because they immediately unsubbed. I also saw that at least one of the accounts gifted had a creation date of 2013, so it wasn't a new account that guy made.

Socialblade has a daily subscriber count and shows gained or lost subs. Or at least they did before Youtube changed to abbreviated subcounts (i.e., 188,210 became 188k). So you can check here and see if a measurable change occurred. Pretty sure it'll have to be enough subs to drop him into the 187k range for it to register.

some guy had his youtube account hacked by some people and they livestreamed crypto until he got it back and managed to get a bunch of money from subs who were none the wiser, i don't remember how long it took them i think maybe a few week of "we're working on it" "sorry you feel this way"

Alan Wake= 70 videos.
Bioshock Infinite = 71 videos plus 18 more for dlc.
Crysis 2 = 42 videos.

With old school Phil, 500 videos could honestly be like 6 playthroughs.

This month is strangely inflated because of all the "troll" (not troll) gifted subs. There will be big dips because of sub bombs, but a lot of streams had... slow-motion sub bombs, basically.

Based on his recent stuff, my bet is on "Give me money so I can make it over this last hurdle." He's been pitching the narrative that if he can just stick it out one more year, stuff "happening behind the scenes" will get resolved and he'll be better off.

So, dragonquestfan_ recently got permanently banned for asking how Khet bought Hitman Collection if Phil is always hurting for money.

The way Phil addressed the situation made me promptly close-off MrHuth Stuf's video while I was brushing my teeth this morning as I really wanted to beat the shit out of Phil for being such a fucking disgusting asshole. The way he addresses any questions that would dare disrupt his conniving narrative about "help me I'm poor" really, really, really fucking irks me.

I really hate this guy. To the point that I sometimes wish something terrible would happen to someone I've never met or talked to in real life. He's such a condescending fucking prick. What dragonquestfan_ asked was a completely legitimate question: Phil is always harping about how little money he has and how carefully he controls his spending whenever he begs for money to cover unforeseen expenses. How he never spends outside of his means when he and his prized equine animal go out on shopping sprees. Then someone asks him about why he would buy an extra game when he's mentioned he never has the money to do so, the person asking such a question immediately becomes persona non-grata and is deemed an "asshole" and is promptly banned, to never be welcomed back.

Then, DSP has the gall, the fucking audacity to claim that this guy needs to email him and apologize in order to be let back in the streams? Fuck this guy. Seriously, fuck DSP.

I know we're all waiting for his inevitable downfall and the way he has insulated himself from any semblance of a normal life due to his paranoia towards the trolls is making it incredibly slow, but sometimes I wish some external factor would accelerate this downfall and see this trainwreck finally come crashing down at full speed instead of in slow motion.

Try not to let it get to you that much.
The guy's life is a disaster space and his soul is a tormented wreck.
He's kept in this perpetual purgatory by idiots who throw him just enough to keep limping along a little longer.

You need to understand though, in the Goutsphere, that's akin to hiring an entire mafia assassin troll army to track down and murder Phil, Phil's family, anyone who ever talked to Phil, anyone who ever talked to them, and their employers, burning down their homes, and pissing on the ashes while rewriting the history books with obvious lies and defamations about history's greatest martyr.

The funny thing is it literally doesn't affect his bottom line. Even if we assume a super generous $1 cpm, there's no way those 5 - 10 year old videos have gotten 1000 views combined in the less than 24 hours they've been claimed. And even if there was, it's not an all or nothing affair. Content ID claims that publishers allow with revenue redirection doesn't mean the entire video is now their money, just a percentage of it which is a simplistic "Video Length"/"Claimed Content Length". And honestly, I think thats a very fair way to do it. If I make a video and 100% of it is @actually talking about Dave's income, and I just throw up some annotations on top of it, he should be entitled to almost 100% of the revenue.
Now if someone took his video, and replayed it - while pausing to talk about his points and offer counters, that shouldn't be able to get claimed - and they usually aren't, esspecially if you're using clips under 20 seconds long. Except for 20th century Fox. Those fuckers are aggressive with contend ID claims and they 100% block it. Go mix a 5 second clip of Fight Club into a video. Doesn't matter where. It'll be claimed in less than an hour. Fuckers.

He's 100% definitely getting a lot more brazen each year. And really, I'd probably be that way too. If you can command a platoon of wheelchairs to give you money based on a host of reasons that are ever declining in severity it stands to reason that eventually you can just say "Hey I need money because I like money so please tip" and realize people will still obediently fork it over.
Really, at the rate he's going, I'd give him less than 5-6 years before he's done. He's becoming more and more boring, and more and more brazen about demanding money. That means there's less for us to talk about, so people make less videos, and we start looking for a new cow (I vote Gundam) to make fun of. It'll just slowly taper off and he'll be at 5 viewers - still probably getting $2500/mo from them.

And really, I like feeling superior to Dave, so I really hope he does something really stupid soon.

You can't make videos on YouTube with a goal of making any money at all - that's the trick to it. I watch a lot of channels on YouTube, and they all went from nobodies with shaky cams to 800,000+ subs and a better cam. But they're the same damn person. The ones I like to watch talk to the camera like its a person, and they're doing something interesting in their shop. One of my favorite ones is a guy named Mustie1 - he's a mechanic in his 50s and I can't tell you how much I learned about small engines and all things mechanical just by having him on in the background. He's making enough from YT that he actually rents a big ass garage. He didn't say it's from YouTube money, but it is. He has no Patreon, no donation links, nothing - solely through views. But YT is secondary - he's a mechanic after all and makes decent money doing it. So if YT fucked off it would suck but he'd be fine.

Especially now with the systems in place. I'm sure during the early days DSP was able to thrive off it. Now with legal meddling from companies, the over influx of ads, and the battling entities of Twitch, Mixer, and other outlets YT is just a platform to advertise to bring you those other sites. Unless you made a deal with the devil for a big cut of YT money you're def putting yourself on a different platform or using funding like Patreon to cover the bills.

Phil can gloat how he wants about making money on Twitch/Patreon because at this point it's pretty much true. YT is just there as a big commercial you sometimes get paid for. But Phil also sucks because he's Phil and makes horrible decisions which makes the concept even funnier.

DSP pulls in 100-200k a year, the problem is he used to pull in far more and is now used to that standard of living. His massive house in the gated community costs him a lot of money. His begging is disgusting given how much money he makes but to him he is protecting his lavish standard of living now and that's how he justifies what he does.
If he would just be honest and make a lot of money, nobody would have a problem with him. The problem is pleading poverty and taking advantage of people.
