Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Luke and Lando went on a mission years ago to find Ochi for some reason (that's a story for another time), but never did. During this mission, Lando's daughter (or kids) was kidnapped by the FO. Finn's sister is in fact nu-Lando's daughter, while Finn is implied to be a shittier re-imagining of Lando Jr.... Also a major republic figure gets his kids taken and the New Republic still doesn't see the FO as a threat? Who writes this bunk? Oh right, its fucking JJ, Kennedy and Kasdan with zero creativity. Shit gets more disturbing and there's more to tell, but I'll get to that in a moment.
This IS going to be worse then TLJ

I think we need an updated version of the leaks, with all the new info and changes, I have lost track of the exact nature of the travesty that is going to prance around wearing the still bleeding skin of a once beloved franchise.

Also: Did Luke abondon his mission to find Ochi before or after he fucked up training Jedis and attempted to murder his nephew in his sleep?
I think its still pretty much the same except we're given more details now. We already knew before that Lando was searching for Ochi and found his dagger and that Ren would meet Palpatine on Exogol early in the film, we just didn't know all the details of why Lando volunteered for this or what words were exchanged between Ren and Palpy and what Ren saw down there.

Okay, Im curious now, and I know it isnt the focus but who has the worst cooking? MovieBob or Chris Chan?
MovieBob because at least Chris-chan has the excuse of being mentally challenged. MovieBob is just too full of himself to give a shit over whether or not he's right about anything. Including cooking.

Honestly the entire genre of "media based cookbooks" needs to go away and die. At absolute best they just offer mediocre rehashes of basic shit you can find in any dime store book section or five second google search, and at worst the recipes within are just straight up disgusting and inedible.

Perhaps the only halfway respectable examples are ones that are half tongue in cheek "in universe" works that function decently enough as a spinoff novella, like that discworld cookbook from ages ago which combined the aforementioned "mediocre but passable recipes" style cookbooks with a bunch of prose from the character depicted as writing said cookbook.

And before anyone mentions a certain bald youtuber cookuck, remember that any recipe attempted/adapted by him is either ultra generic or has to be heavily modified if not changed entirely to be edible.
Hey, the kirby cafe and the capcom restaurant are atleast decent and put their own spin on it (even if in concept is fucking retarded like the flaming nachoes and the resident evil drink)

You know guys, im legit concerned Disney will refuse to let this movie properly bomb and will begin to cook the books, like they have done with Captain Marvel and Frozen 2 to a lesser extent, then bribe every motherfucker in existence to turn a blind eye to it. To them, this is far less costly than displeased investors and share holders (the bragging rights also is a bonus). I have mentioned multiple times how disney is too rich to fail and they arent afraid to abuse their monopoly status, they will literally buy a hit to keep investors happy, they are screwing over capitalism for their own neo brand.

You can fully expect them to do what they did with comic books when that shit was failing: Force distributors to pick up TRoS if they want other Disney movies. They'll fudge the numbers and try to cook the books but if the interest isn't there it won't matter.

It looks like we're getting another forced relationship between Finn and Poe after those two had hardly interaction.

Also, Bionic Woman producer Kamran Pasha is using TLJ to teaching about bad screenwriting.

We already discussed this. Its nothing but JJ virtue signaling by doing absolutely nothing, much like his promise of BBQ representation in TFA which was also bull. Although a few leaks imply that Poe briefly has a "gay moment" with Finn which he quickly tries to cover up. From what I understand, its them briefly hugging before Poe backs away awkwardly and its treated mostly as a joke.

I assume its in the KK/JJ cut.

I've seen some incredibly complex dishes from that guy, like timpano. I can't imagine ever making that.

He won't unless Hollywood doesn't want to hire him for anything.
Considering what he's been saying on Twitter about his displeasure with Disney and the fact that he left the script out in the open, his career might already be in jeopardy. I know Pacific Rim didn't help him much either. Then again... maybe him "admitting" that he left the script was some sort of weird punishment by Disney for daring to speak out. He needed to prostrate himself before them to make amends for his rebellious behavior. That's kinda creepy.

PR: Uprising is a bump

Though don't be surprised if he does a Netflix/Amazon show cash grab project

That's what I thought when I saw that Boyega "admitted" that it had been his script. I wasn't surprised that he left one lying around (people make mistakes, it happens) but I was surprised that Disney pointed the finger after recovering the script. All they had to do was put out some boilerplate about how "the script has been recovered, we know where it came from, the matter has been handled internally." Instead, they singled out Boyega as the fuck-up, presumably as an indicator of their displeasure with his behavior.

It was a PR stunt

You Got Served Disney Crossover to show Rey's the best at something else too

"Abrams still left the door open to a different form of LGBTQ representation in his film. The filmmaker noted that he’s always strived to find a cast for “Star Wars” that “looked more the way the world looks than not.”

“And in the case of the LGBTQ community, it was important to me that people who go to see this movie feel that they’re being represented in the film,” Abrams said.

So without spoiling the film, Variety asked, does that mean there will be a queer character in “The Rise of Skywalker”?

“I will say I’m giving away nothing about what happens in the movie,” Abrams replied with a smile. “But I did just say what I just said.”

Just when I thought the special custom Worst Trilogy lightsabre emoji couldn't be any gayer, JoJo Abrams provides a brand new homoerotic context.

Everything about how Disney’s manages its IP and talent is kinda creepy.

As a slightly related aside, we watched Toy Story 2 on Disney plus and in the credits they removed the fake outtake where the prospector is trying to seduce two barbies while suggesting he can get them a part in the next film.

It’s obvious why they did it, considering John Lassiter himself got fucking metoo’d, but I did a little digging and couldn’t find a lot of buzz for it online, just a few minor articles. No virtue signalling, no gloating, no major fanfare at all. They just erased that scene forever, Stalin style.

On its own it’s not a big deal, but keep in mind that these fucks now own, what, a half dozen news networks?

That plus the fact they turned their broadcast TV divisions into essentially an ad farm for their films. We have shitty rural internet so we likely watch more over-the-air television than most, and it’s inescapable.

They show the classic movies on the air right before the remakes. You see movie posters in the background of TV shows, merchandizing front and center where the actors practically look at the camera. Hell, Speechless was a decent show until the third season where they literally had an episode about the family going to the premier of the Last Jedi.

How the fuck can you trust a company like that to deliver news at all? Among all the other desperate publicity flailing, I fully expect to see full-blown prime time news stories about Rise of Skywalker for the whole month.

It’s all creepy and it’s all shitty. I know advertisers have always pulled this shit but it feels more invasive than ever and has an unsettlingly precise psychological element to it.

Anywho, fuck Didney. Fuck them for holding good art hostage, and fuck them for trying to strangle the the pop culture art ecosystem for almost a century.
