The Great Porn Debate - The Coomites vs Anti-Faparians

I still found it funny that some studies show that porn and video games have a lot of the same effects. There's even some studies saying video games raises dopamine levels on the same lvl as having sex.

well, getting SSS rank in devil may cry 5 or getting a new shiny epic item in word of Warcraft dose turn me on.

Too much masterbation fucks up your brain.
Porn is not the cause of this, but its prevelece does help enable these types of people. Just like Stationary stores facilitate Glue Sniffers.
From experience I would say porn can become an addiction. If it does, it is your job to work through your addiction, no one is to blame or should suffer due to your weak will but you.
And while I believe porn fucks up society, unless someone other than the viewer is harmed by the viewing/production of the tittie skits, I do not want the government to regulate what I or anyone else jerks it to,
I already have a nagging urge to burn down government buildings for their asinine smoking and drinking laws, and by the Gods I'll do it if they take away my catgirls!

And I'm old enough to remember that! View attachment 1046534

Not really, but I grew up in the age where one of our buddies would snag his dad's Playboy magazine and bring it to the tree fort in the woods. We'd marvel at the naked female body -- boobies! There's such an onslaught of porn available today it's ridiculous. While I don't think it should be illegal, I do think it should be more controlled in some fashion. It really can warp people and delivers a totally unrealistic expectation of what a committed, loving, sexual relationship actually is.

The 'old days' magazines are classy compared to what is around now. If they don't have their legs spread and stretching their arses, then it's being a prude.

I came across a conversation, probably on reddit, about what females experiences were of dating at present and how porn affects their dating lives.

Majority of females stated that sex was expected pretty much immediately, and that sex involved being choked, abused, and the like. This wasn't consensual BDSM, this was 'the guy suddenly had me around the neck, while going at it as hard as he could' type of thing.

As much as I'd love to say this is only on the internet, this is only young guys, I've spoken to females that have said similar things, in the conversation above, it included men who were coming out of decades long marriages, all of these men are affected by the lack of respect, and total disregard for females. That they are purely possessions to be used.

Young girls are growing up completely okay with how they are being treated. It's become so normal, that they truly believe that there is something wrong with them, if they don't want to be degraded and disrespected. I'm not even going to go into other conversations about mens obsession with anal and how it's the only acceptable way to have sex, because 'you're so tight baby'... Oh, remembered another one, the guys with the Asian girlfriends that won't stop telling them that she'd look 'perfect' if she got a boobjob, I'm sure being where we are I don't need to say more...

'Cool girls' is supposedly a myth, it's not a myth, it's a whole generation of young girls being coerced into performances that only benefit the male.

Seriously you only have to listen to a few porn videos, whether professionally made or amateur, so not even watching, just listening, and you can hear the pain that the females are in, as they say their lines, or pretend that they are loving it.

I am not sure if I find that type of porn the most repelling or the one where the women just lie there like a sack of rice and don't move or make any sound at all while the guy has his ways with them. Completely apathetic on the outisde.

This was probably the one of the more disturbing discoveries I've made after someone told me about it - the dead-starfish-porn. Who can get off when their partner is just lying on the bed, basically pretending to be dead? Or not having any interest in the sex happening at all? Honestly, I'd feel like raping my partner in those moments. Maybe that's just me. I don't know.

I am by the way not talking about those 'women pretend to be sex dolls' fetish videos. I know those are a thing.

Do you have, like, any proof of this? Because from the research I did, the only solid number I found was around 8% of adults. And before you say it, 13% of adults are smokers and 6% are alcoholics.
8% of adults worldwide would be over 300 million people, maybe even over 400, I'm not sure exactly.
Not to mention, kids jerk off as well.

Please tell us more about your struggle with giving up porn.
It's not that exciting.
I was addicted to orgasms (can you blame me?) so I kept doing it, neglecting other aspects of my life.
Whenever I stopped, even for a few days, the urge was unbearable and I always went back.
The tipping point was me fucking up a relationship.
I was jerking off instead of having sex with my girlfriend so she broke up with me :)
After that, I've decided to get my shit together and give up porn completely.
Every time I think of going back, I picture myself from that time and I feel disgusted.

In all honesty I'd rather my future sons sneak away a Playboy to oogle some model that's been photographed in a tasteful way instead of their first exposure being some ultra hardcore BDSM video on PornHub or xhamster.
Besides, smutty magazines also have articles and typically an interview with the featured models.

I agree the other folks in this thread that pornography shouldn't be banned. Prohibition would just drive the industry underground. I'll IP ban any porn sites in my household though; parents need to be proactive with their kids' internet access.

Regardless of one's views on actual porn, I can guarantee that any bill put forth to regulate it will be, in the words of Frank Zappa, "an ill-conceived piece of nonsense which fails to deliver any real benefits to children, infringes the civil liberties of people who are not children, and promises to keep the courts busy for years dealing with the interpretation and enforcement problems inherent in the proposal's design."

Porn is essentially a drug. Not even essentially, IT IS a drug. It has all the same characteristics as one.
It degrades your mind, it degrades your body, it affects the way you think, it throws you down into a degenerative state.
That's wrong, though. Ejaculation, regardless of form, has been proven to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression while also reducing your risk for prostate cancer.

Now mind you, having a stable partner is better because you're getting off while also increasing your body's oxytocin levels which is good for you in a whole host of ways, but your fanatical puritanism is cringey and this whole neo-puritan movement where we aren't supposed to fuck or masturbate or find things attractive or "objectify" things is just going to backfire, and make already depressed and anxious people only moreso.

Basically you're a faggot and your shit's all retarded.

I used to be reliant on pornography for sexual satisfaction. It made me lazy and complacent in my love life. After I met my wife I cut back and quit the habit for the most part, but I know that my old habit did me more harm than good. I'd say that I'm better off now that I've stopped relying on porn for satisfaction.
I also like banning things based on my own anecdotal complete lack of fucking self-control.

In all seriousness I'm extremely pro-porn. You should not be calling on the government to intervene because you failed as a parent, period. All the ideas that have been put forth to regulate porn use have either failed spectacularly (Britain's ID law) or would fail spectacularly if actually enacted. The worst one I heard was trying to create essentially two internets. One for kids and one for adults, with some sort of opt-in program at point of purchase.Congrats: you just created an internet nobody would use and a second internet that is essentially what we already had before regulation. It'd be a massive waste of time for everybody involved.

I'm so sick and tired of "small government" conservatives and """"libertarians"""" going full fascist and unironically invoking MUH SOCIETY the moment they see a jpeg of a drag queen reading at a library. Do your fucking job as a parent and leave the internet the hell alone. As a matter of fact, I'd LOVE to see the GOP become the party of No-Porn Allowed. I think that would work out fucking swell for them, please for the love of God do it. They'd never win another election again.

REEEEEEEEE I need my cummies! Fuck you dirty DRUMPF loving Republicans for wanting to take my cummies away!

If you read the rest of the thread you would've seen my second post. Here, I'll even quote it for you so you don't have to scroll up.

I don't want to ban your porn, it's protected by the First Amendment here in the US and won't be going away any time soon. Porn is like smoking and drinking; its not going away just because some folk don't like it much or think that it's potentially harmful.

The thread has developed nicely, so now I'm going to give my take.

First, I will fess up: I am a Coomer. I ticked all the boxes for internet porn addiction at one point, though I got much better hold of it when I dealt with other personal issues. It's become a vice I can manage. That's one of the problems I see with anti-Coomers and anti-fappers, is they become too overly fixated on excessive porn viewing and fapping, and never ask why they maybe seeking it out so much. And the way they talk about it, well it seems like they are substituting literal masturbation with the figurative kind.

From a purely Coomer perspective, banning internet porn isn't going to affect or stop me. Put up a "must show ID", okay I'm an adult, I can do that. Have to pay for it? No problem there, would actually cut down on the time and addiction aspect, since one of the reasons internet porn is so addicting is it combines the dopamine rush of both the porn and regular internet usage. Have to go to a dirty, sleazy porn shop? Already been to a few of those. As for banning all porn like I've seen some people advocate, well I'll have to evaluate how well enforced those laws are, and ways around them in the unlikely event that does happen.

However, from a general policy and freedom perspective, this is just a setup for more draconian censorship that I can't support. It paves the way for laws things like hate speech laws, since you setup the legal infrastructure, both in terms of precident and law inforcement who could enforce such laws. At the very least, you could get selective enforcement, where only certain sites get busted, while others are ignored or only catch slaps on the wrist. You know how people will fill a site or email box of CP of someone they don't like? Well suddenly you can do the same with scans from decades old Playboy.

It's why it's so aggravating to see Torba of all people push for this. Okay, you ban porn on Gab, that's cool. It's your site, and your focus is political speech, I get it. You don't consider porn to be "free speech"? Well that is debatable, but a position that can be argued non the less. But to actively encourage full on government censorship while claiming to be some kind of internet free speech savior, well you have to be as exceptional as Torba to not see the contradictions.

So you don't want lil' Johny to see some tiddies, I don't either. But freedom comes with sacrifices, one of them is safety, including your children's safety. Its like the gun debate. The first amendment makes things like school shootings more likely, but we largely tolerate it, because principles of the right to bare arms is above the bodies of dead children from a freak, yet news grabbing, incident. Best you can do is lock down your home internet to ensure lil' Johnny isn't exposed, or admit that notions of freedom of speech are not worth endangering children, especially to just benefit some dirty Coomers like me. That is a fair position to take, but remember in trying to shield your children, you may just be setting up the slippery slope that takes away more than just the their freedom to freely google tentacle porn in the future.

Instead of 'yes' or 'no', the easy solution is to answer the question of 'how far will it go'.
No tits, because tits are universally sexual?
Okay, some subhumans are sexually aroused by feet. Are you going to ban feet too? (A) yes (B) no
(A) Congratulations, you have become a caliphate
(B) Fuck if I'm not allowed to see a boob but some pedophile gets to trade black market foot pictures.

That's wrong, though. Ejaculation, regardless of form, has been proven to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression while also reducing your risk for prostate cancer.

Busting a nut is as natural for a guy as taking a shit or piss is.

That is what it all comes down to is our balls fill up with sperm and it gets physically painful after a while, the times I take a long break from fapping by the end I'm so horny I can't think straight, it's utterly ridiculous to me to think of just trying to deal with that instead of just rubbing one out and getting it over with.

People can take things too far of course, but there also comes a point in which the moralizing over this gets ridiculous as well because we are talking about what is fundamentally a perfectly natural and healthy aspect of being a human being.

anyone who wants to take away porn is welcome to do so but they have to watch it all first. i bet anyone stupid enough to want to ban porn would end up so drunk that they'd forget to take it as they ran away screaming

I strongly believe porn is harmful, however I'm not for banning porn itself because as Prohibition proved; outright-banning something doesn't stop it and just creates a Black Market for it.

The way I see it, it would be better if people like Torba advocated for Parents to stop letting their kids be babysat by the Internet and also get an app that blocks porn sites, or just blacklist them on their home network.

If the Evils of the Porn Industry really bother the hardline anti-porn guys, then they could advocate to boycott or abstain from it. For example, #NoNutNovember (Alternatively #NoPornNovember), Supply and Demand, if you're encouraging people to abstain and not consume Porn than you'll be doing more harm to the Industry than demanding the Government to step in and Outlaw porn.

You guys are talking a lot about porn and it's potential effects on mental health, children, and relationships.

What do you guys think about porn causing negative physical effects?

A lot of people in the nofap circles seems to think porn leads to things like Death-Grip or Porn-Induced Erectile Dysfunction. Basically you are so used to masturbating with porn that when you do have real sex your body doesn't get stimulated by it, causing limp dick even though you can get erections with porn. It is said that this affects both women and men. For women it's called "dead vagina syndrome".

Why does it seem like porn is getting more and more degenerate? If you go on a major porn website like pornhub it is almost guarnteed that you will find the words "son, daughter, father, mom, stepwhatever."
