I felt so bad I looked up her after pics and it looks like the botched guys did her a solid! She still had a tiny little triangle right over her fupa area but it looked like a natural fold of flesh and the rest looked great. I'm so relieved for her.

Definitely some is, but I've seen some appalling, slapdash and basically criminal work from people right here in the UK. The problem is the cosmetic surgery industry is relatively unregulated here. Anyone can inject anyone with botox and fillers, to start with, and anyone with a medical licence can announce they are a cosmetic surgeon, set up a private office and just start slicing without any extra training or oversight. Then even qualified surgeons vary tremendously in standards, including who they will take on as patients. Some clearly will do anything to anyone for the cash, inlcuding the crazy body dysmorphics who are the ones who end up looking like the Bride of Wildenstein or whoever. Of course the absolute worst shit is the idiots who for some reason travel to a motel in the USA or wherever to let some random weirdo inject polyfilla into their bum for a cash payment, as well as the shit that emerges from cheap plastic surgery holidays to Turkey or Mexico but I've seen some terrible cases emerge from non-third world countries too.

Then of course there's stuff like the PIP breast implant scandal which occured right in the heart of western Europe.

Instagram filters don't actually 'beautify' your face or change proportions. They're just colour, contrast, hue, saturation etc. That's all plastic surgery, and/or photoshop. Underneath it all, all i see is sadness and regret. The hairline and apparent trinctilomania isn't helping.

They totally change proportions. Same for Line filters.

There are various add-on 'beauty filters' that absolutely give you the option to change the proportions of your face, individual features, slim or widen them etc. Facetune allows people to basically shop themselves into another person in-phone if they so wish. Yeah, your basic Instagram filters are just lighting and colour effects, but there's a lot more out there people are using. If someone looks uncanny valley or totally unlike themselves IRL, it's a dead cert usually that they're using the motherload of Facetune type stuff. There's even stuff for video now, which blows my mind. Basically trust nothing you see online for this reason.
