I think a lot of people are still going to see it since it is a Star Wars movie. It might make a billion, it might not, but I sincerely doubt it's going to make nearly as much money as 7 or 8, and that's going to hurt the movie since even if it makes money, it's clear that Star Wars is losing its grip on audiences. That and if the production rumors are true, the movie's already sank a lot of cash into production alone, so there's pretty much no way they'll get that money back.

There's also the fact that unlike Avengers and TFA, this movie stands to gain nothing from Chinese audiences. Absolutely nothing. I posted a whole bunch of analytical and statistical bullshit about the profits of the Disney films and their performance in each region, among other shit many pages back but I can't remember where (does anyone remember?). But this film definitely won't make as much as TFA and at best it will only do close to TLJ, and at worst it'll do only slightly better than Solo, which is not good at all.
I mentioned this before, but the best way to salvage Canto Bight's bullshit is to show it in the show and reveal that its just some fancy casino on Malastare or Nar Shadda which has nothing to do with the one in TLJ, only having the name in common and have it be run by Dugs or some other species that aren't the ones from TLJ.
