Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Guys, gals, come on...

... it's about Family™.

All about dat WAHMEN POWAH...

How the hell did adding a second saber pushing back change anything? It's lightning.

Why didn't Sheev stop shooting the fucking lightning?

Was he ready for death upon hearing her response as I was?

I have several questions and I don't know if I want the answers.

Holy shit less than 24 hours before the doors of dissapointment are opened to the masses. I honestly weird ya know we’ve spent our time in this thread predicting just what kind of and how severe a disaster Rise of Skywalker will be and whether or not the leaks were true. And now the moment of truth will soon be upon us.

"That's one in a million"

What does that even mean JJ? What was so one in a million about smashing a ship into a bigger ship, then having the shrapnel kill a bunch of other ships?

To be fair, wouldn't you try to retcon that too? I mean it's an awful explanation, but I can't blame J.J for trying.

The holdo maneuver is so re-tarded, that if not addressed also ruins suspension of disbelief of every other movie, because, otherwise, Star Wars would be all about weapon manufacturers just making torpedoes with hyperdrives. Why bother with lasers and huge space ships?

How do you fix that without a convoluted explanation? From a storytelling perspective, they had to nerf the Holdo maneuver somehow otherwise no Star Wars movie works anymore.

When I first heard Palpatine's voice in the trailer, I assumed it was going to be revealed that Rey was Palpatine's prodigy and the story of her parents being space bums was a lie concocted by Palpatine fashioned after Luke and Vader just the way I would expect Abram's to rip off the source material. Turns out I was only off by one generation.

Rey vs Palpatine said:
Palpatine: I am all the Sith!

Rey uses the force to get Kylo’s lightsaber. The music stops.

Rey: I am all the Jedi

I just can’t get that scene out of my mind. Even if we disregard how ridiculous it was for it all to be resolved via an dbz style laser struggle, that “zinger” at the end is completely unnecessary and almost comical in delivery. Who the fuck thought the big epic battle at the end needed to end on a fucking one liner? Much less, a one longer than sounds like they were listening to the Shadow the Hedgehog OST in the writing room.
It’s an embarrassingly stupid line from someone who was probably paid a ton to write this script.

Well this is going out like an absolute flaming barrel of turds rolling downhill.
Good job, mouse. You took one of the most sure-fire gold mines and turned it into a dead on arrival film that even the most diehard consume-anything dorks won't touch.

My fear is that they said this is the end of the main line story but they're going to keep squeezing the universe for every penny they can get.
