All of Danny's political stances are directed by the small place he carved out for himself in low-end punditry, and by feuds he's already committed to in the past. It's all branding. For him to stay alive, he has to play to his fanbase and capitalize on things he's already railed on in the past. If he lays out a sober and detached outline of what the worst political outcome actually is, and it turns out that Cenk being successful is irrelevent or even advantageous in some way, that would only introduce doubt into the minds of his fans. "Why has he wasted so much focus on this guy if he was irrelevant all along?"
The funny thing is that if Danny placed political reality before his ego, he would've sided with Fuentes. That's not even necessarily because Fuentes is right, but because of his own supposed opinions:
What it really boils down to here is he knows that the groyper crowd sees him as cringe, and brand-wise he lines up better with boomer-friendly people like Crowder. Again, it's all branding. The politics at the core of it all is secondary to him. After all, he's proven that already by guesting on Crowder's show multiple times, and Crowder has a lot more in common with TPUSA, who are successors to the very people who shut down Buchannan in the first place. It's more important for Danny to maintain his standing with the people who will actually tolerate him, and twist himself into a pretzel if necessary so that he can justify his lack of authenticity to himself.
