Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

On the Death Star plans, I seem to recall that the shaft is just one of 21 per pole on those things (the model shows multiple vents); that one just seems to be close to some critical machinery needed to prevent a rapid meltdown and explosion. It's a microscopic flaw that you need the plans of to even notice given how many vents there actually werre, and even then it was heavily defended, as were probably the other poles.
Some thoughts on how to salvage The Sequel trilogy if I had to go back in time and pistol whip JJ abrams, while still sticking to the general outline of the story, which were formulated over the past half hour with the aid of a few shots of christmas rum

TFA
1. Max Von Sydow isnt fucking wasted. He is a fairly important character as both Rey's adoptive grandparent figure and the leader of her settlement, and also a former Imperial Moff who knows important info on some secret contingency shit Palpatine ordered before he went to Endor, and this is why Kylo Ren and the First Order tracked him down to Jakku.

2. His abduction and the attack on his settlement takes place later in the first act, with Poe being a New Republic agent infiltrating scavangers who were unknowingly looking for said contingency and who are quickly taken down by the First Order at the beginning of the movie.

3. Jakku is basically Space Mad Max Australia and has been the site of cataclysmic battles from ancient times due to its strategic location, including the clone wars and the galactic civil war, and is populated by both offworld scavengers looking for loot and the remnants/descendants of Imperial forces who were abandoned by the collapsing empire, and thus it is more a wartorn planetwide junkyard than Tatooine 2.0

4. Phasma is shown both easily taking out some salvaged Droidekas the scavengers at the beginning were using to defend their base in order to actually give her some halfway badass credentials, and also being a genuinely caring officer to her troops with her acting as a surrogate parent to Finn in order to give his defection and their later animosity some actual weight

5. When Finn and Poe escape, they both stay together instead of Poe pointlessly vanishing for half the movie

6. Rey is depicted as a powerful force user who has spent her life using and honing her abilities without any guidance or direction, resulting in her "style" being brute force with zero finesse, and balancing unsteadily between the dark and light sides since she has only used her abilities for combat or to aid herself and her friends/family. Basically imagine if Broly had the force.

7. Since I am maintaining the "Mary Sue" outline for the character, Rey has Kylo Ren's janky looking cruciform lightsaber from the start of the movie, coloured a reddish orange to visually indicate the whole "unknowingly teetering on the edge of the dark side" thing, and looks like it is being held together by duct tape and gorilla glue. Its explained she created it herself from stolen/scavanged parts.

8. Alongside BB8 there is a "senile" old B1 Battledroid who serves as the C3P0 replacement and resident gun nut and occasionally accurate conspiracy theorist, who loudly introduces himself as "Rey's Nemesis" but winds up swept up in their escape from the planet and then just kinda tags along with them. Imagine a wannabe HK-47 with the mind of Dale Gribble from King of the Hill. Thus all of the dumb attempts at comedy in this trilogy can safely be contained in his character and not screw up the others.

9. The five new main characters escape the planet together on a new freighter designed for the sequel trilogy as the First Order glasses it from orbit , before they depart to locate what Von Sydow's character was trying to hide from them, which is on the regional New Republic capital world.

10. Rey is naturally rather upset her home and everyone she loved is now dead or captured, with some "Vader freaks out at the Emperor Palpatine Surgical Reconstruction Centre" style crushing of things in her immediate vicinity, and Poe who is familiar with the Jedi due to being a high level New Republic agent immediately realises he has a possible Anakin situation on his hands and decides that they need to bring her and the information he had to his immediate boss who is also a member of the New Jedi Council....who is on the same world that the First Order are preparing to attack unknown to them.

11. Lupita Nyong'o is not wasted as an insufferably useless mouldy orange alien. She is fully fledged Jedi Master and one of Luke's best students.

12. After realising how powerful yet unstable Rey is after some "light" sparring which resulted in a little too much destruction of property, Lupita's character immediately contacts Luke at his academy.

13. The First Order attack on the planet is entirely unexpected due to how suicidal it seemingly is for what is effectively Space ISIS to openly attack the New Republic which has been desperate for an excuse to tie up this last loose end for decades, and the main characters are focused around stopping them from digging up the secret shit palpatine buried there near the start of his reign as emperor, which turns out to be the Sith Dagger from TROS. They fail, although the larger attack is defeated by the arrival of the New Republic Fleet led by General Han Solo.

14. In scenes with the First Order, Kylo Ren is established to still be a Jedi, complete with Lukes old green saber, and still considers himself to be acting for the greater good of the galaxy which is what puts him at odds with General Hux who is a bloodthirsty fanatic. The incongruity of Lukes best student and nephew choosing to join the First Order while still considering himself a Jedi is noted by pretty much everyone involved. Its also revealed that the Sith Dagger is needed to awaken and activate Starkiller base.

15. At the end of the second act the general plotline of "The First Order are trying to build some superweapon on their home world, the New Republic fleet will attack it to draw their forces away while the Nu-Main characters sneak onboard and deactivate its defences using Finn's insider info and Poe's spy knowledge. Also at this point Han, Leia, a force projection of Luke, Chewie, 3P0, and R2 will share a scene together as they formulate a plan of attack and discuss how to bring Kylo back. It will be milked for all its worth with Rey only a silent and secret witness, having snuck in to find out what they were talking about.

16. The finale goes how I and a bunch other people here have suggested. The New Republic fleet gets utterly wrecked when the "backwater first order outpost world" turns out to be the starkiller base, which becomes partially activated and easily annihilates the fleet, before creating a gigantic wormhole to the galactic core which drags the heroes with it and it destroys Coruscant as they watch helplessly, and in the end the only "victory" the heroes have is that the new main characters are able to steal back the dagger before it can fully reactivate the station and its full force related capabilities, and Han Solo kamikazes the Falcon into its core to cripple it for long enough for the heroes and survivors of the system to escape.

17. The final lightsaber duel is Kylo Ren vs Lupita's character and Rey, with Finn and Poe showing up to help as the fight progresses. Kylo easily dominates the fight, seriously wounding Lupita's character and Rey only being able to hold her ground due to her OP yet untrained force abilities, but is steadily worn down and is only saved by Finn opening fire on Kylo with some heavy weapon shit, maybe a nu-AT-ST, distracting him for long enough for Rey to force yeet him far enough away for them to escape with the dagger.

18. The film ends with the republic fallen, the first order ascendant, Snoke despatching Kylo to retrieve the dagger, and Leia now leading a newly formed Resistance. Rey is contacted by a force projection of Luke and told to come to his academy on Dagobah.

Other thoughts for TFA/the wider trilogy
- Snoke is infact the first Jedi Master, who millennia beforehand had led an army of both jedi and sith against a sentient force fueled superweapon, the Starkiller, which had the capacity to poison the force itself and effectively exterminate all sentient life in the galaxy, and while they were unable to fully destroy it they were able to send it deep into hibernation after reaching its core and Snoke force-bonding with it's consciousness and effectively becoming the machine's jailor.

- The reason that it wasn't destroyed then and there was because the ancient Jedi/Sith could forsee a time when the machine would be needed to fight an even greater and possibly sequel-sequel-trilogy level evil, thus Snoke turned the Sith Dagger of his fallen rival/ally who was the first Sith Lord into a key to reawaken the full might of the base should he personally deem it necessary, and it eventually made its way into the hands of Palpatine, who would attempt to awaken the base and bring it under his own control before the events of the Prequel trilogy, but would be very violently rejected by the still sleeping machine mind and its increasingly embittered warden.

- Said Sith Lord was "Darth Ren", with the "Darth" being his actual first name since he was the OG, and the "Knights of Ren" are the order of grey force users Snoke founded in memory of his friend.

- Thus Starkiller Base is either heavily hinted or outright stated to be the real reason Palpatine ordered the Death Stars and other superweapons be made, as his inability to take control of it combined with his vague knowledge of what dwelled within freaked him the fuck out and made him develop an active countermeasure that would also serve as a general intimidation tool. Its also suggested that this is partially why he wanted an apprentice like Anakin who was supposedly even stronger than him, as such a pawn could have been used in another attempt to forcibly take control of the weapon without endangering his own life.

- The reason Kylo Ren joined snoke was because Snoke, having sensed the threat to the galaxy drawing closer, decided to awaken the machine himself and use it to apply a galaxy wide Jedi Mind Trick and effectively create one giant hive mind under his direct control, which he could then use to defeat this threat while also ending the endless cycle of brutal sith led empires and fragile jedi supported republics that had pointlessly killed so many people over the millennia. First Snoke attempted to win over Luke to his side by showing him visions of the coming threat, but when that failed he instead focused on Ren who he was able to convince to join him in order to save his family from what was coming from beyond the edges galaxy.

- Incidentally the Vong are directly mentioned in this hypothetical Nu-Nu-EU as scattered refugees having appeared a few decades ago from the outer fringes fleeing something they called "The Hungering" that apparently devoured their own galaxy
So the threat are the Vong's own grey goo problem in your take. Seriously, why is it literal randos can shit out working outlines and ideas like this in a day, and they had years and couldn't?
Just watch the film last night.
Out of all the questions I have to ask, why is it when The Emperor regenerated himself, he revered back to his mutated form?
Not his original look before Mace deflected the lightning at him?

Other than that, the movie is forgettable.
They could of literally fixed TLJ's issues by making Snoke be a force projection that Kylo kills (Since even after Luke died the dice were still there).
Also, they could of made Luke vanish into the force itself, or a different realm. Introducing the Whills introduced in the Clone Wars cartoon(Since Luke's robot hand also disappeared).
> Fixes main villain problem [X]
> Fixes Luke's death [X]

Even if they wanted the Emperor as a "Main player", they could of did the old switcharoo and had Snoke pretending to be The Emperor till the final battle.
This film wasn't that fucking hard to fix.

Make Snoke Plagueis, Keep Luke alive, introduce Whills, Lightsaber fight with Luke and Snoke. Big twist that Snoke helped the emperor create Anakin, there by reinforcing the relationship of family between Rey and Kylo, instead of this incest shit.

I don't care what anyone says, TLJ having Luke as a grumpy old man was a cool concept. I just wish the whole movie was just that. Not the space casino/mad max in space.
Yeah, I'm not even reading these bait posts dude don't waste your time.

And if you're serious then I'm still not reading these so lol do a flip you wasted your time.

If it was just a mood, maybe. But they made it his entire personality. They rewrote his fully-formed personality traits in order to service the plot. When your "cool concept" requires you to do a 180 on an established character's personality, you have to lose the concept, no matter how much you like it. I think they call that "killing your darlings."
I mean, he isn't far off from his already established personality.
I can't be the only one who sees Luke this way.
> Farm kid gets easily attacked by aliens (Twice in a New Hope)
> Runs into gun fire after Obi dies
> Takes on an enemy twice his strength and loses a hand
> Abandons his training to save his friends, thus failing his training
> Runs into another trap in ROTJ and is literally being killed till his dad has a change of heart screaming NOOOOOO.

Luke was a failure of a hero, and I can't imagine that "Legend" title being thrown on him helped either.
I guess fake it till you make it to some island and become a homeless wreck.

How's it bait?
I wrote how the film could of been fixed.

Did you watch the rip of it here, or in theaters?

If the former, then I apologize; it's just there's been a lot of people in this thread who were retarded enough to do that with no excuse (getting dragged into it by kin/friends is a good excuse) despite us having said rip and having it play during Movie Nights.

If the latter, I stand by the fact you need to commit sudoku.

Even in this latter case, making Snoke Plageis would have been smarter yeah. Honestly, any idea we had in here would've been smarter than what actually happened.

I saw the film last night.
It had good shit in it, but things were squeezed together that it ruined it.
Interested concepts:
> Lightspeed skipping
> Klaud
> Lando
> Deathstar ruins
> Teleport fighting
> The Knights of Ren being like the Black Riders from Lord of the Rings
> The Sith planet
> Evil Rey concept
> Redeem'd Ben
other than that the movie was blah.

You haven't confirmed that you watched it via rip or if you had a situation like @Foolish Samuari Warrior (his family dragged him in), so I'm sorry, but:

You need to get in.

I will agree the Knights looked moderately cool (Darth Maul/Boba Fett Syndrome here), and some of the sets (the seaside ruins looked great) were good. Also Based Klaude, but nahh.

This movie is shit. No one with an account here has any reason to see it in theaters unless the family or friends drag you in there.

You’re right. Rian fucking Johnson caused this mess. He wrote JJ Abrams into a corner and he did the best he could to connect the bullshit spilt in episode VIII. Sony, Disney, Lucas, and Rian fucking Johnson should be publicly flogged. It didn’t help that Carrie Fisher died, but they shown no respect so far so why now? If it were a stand alone movie it may work. Why in fucking hell they didn’t go with the vast amount of extended universe lore is beyond me. Zahn wrote fantastic books with incredible foes like Thrawn who would have been worthy adversaries and this is what we got.

Ok, I’m sperging and I’m sure someone else has probably covered this. It’s Christmas and I’m drunk and a little bitter. Thanks for reading my mind vomit.

Please, we're all three nogs in by now.

I don't get the giant mouth no brain character. For one, I don't even remember the fucker, but that might be because I was intentionally paying as little attention to the rip as possible while fucking with my phone.
For two, how the fuck is any of that even possible? Okay, I'll give you the whole "It's mouth is it's only sensory organ" shit because that's the standard pseudoscientific scifi schlock. But how the fuck does it evolve without a brain? Let alone actually create the helmets meant to act as a brain? Were they created artificially? By who? For what?

Like, if the super secret big bad Sith boss hadn't been Palpatine and had been, say, breeding these fuckers as a mass army of brainless drones controlled by the AI chips from old battle droids, that'd maybe make sense. But as it stands they don't make any sense at all and they visually depart from the Star Wars aesthetic way too much. They look like a villain from a forgettable video game.

That's because it's a pretty clear rip off of other designs the uncreative but very perverted hack behind these horrid designs saw. Yes, I bet the guy who made the Decraniated sex toy thing also made this thing. If I had to guess, it was his idea (and fetish) of Judge Death fucking a cyberdemon from Doom and this squirting out of the results.

I could believe Palpatine or Snoke made these things as shocktroopers... or shit, like the Vong did this (you'd need to make the armor chitin because machines are the devil) as a terror weapon you unleash upon citizens you want to make examples and sacrifices of.

One last plothole from the What If trilogy is why couldn't Luke, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Mace, nor any other Jedi knew about force healing?
Especially considering they worked with Jedi whose entire bread and butter was diplomacy and healing, Jedi Consulars. So millenia of Consular knowledge was lost for 40 years,
then picked up again because Rey read some books for a few months?

And she has the abilities to download all her abilities without training.

I remember around 2014/15 or so hearing about Carrie Fisher going on a Disney-prescribed weight-loss program for TFA. It wouldn't surprise me if Disney did have a hand in rushing her to an early(ier) grave. The woman should have been left alone.

As a Star Wars fan (and, by extension, a Star Trek fan), I want to believe you. I really do. However, companies seem to have discarded any sense that, I don't know, their mission is to make a profit for stockholders. However, given how CBS and Alex Kurzman are barreling down the rails with another season of STD as well as the abomination of memberberries that will be Star Trek: Picard, I have no faith in the greed of executives anymore. You'd think that would be a constant.

Also, on Iger, I think he's getting out while the getting's good. He was responsible for Disney's rapid growth, with all the headaches that that has caused. Disney has made a number of insanely expensive purchases such as Marvel and Lucasfilm, and they're not seeing the ROI on Star Wars. That, and rumors of financial impropriety seems to be the reason why Disney is so eager to lie and inflate numbers in order to trick investors that everything's a-okay with the Rat. Disney is the bloated monstrosity that it is thanks to Iger. I'm guessing that he knows that reckoning is coming for the Rat, so he's retiring while he can. The disaster that was Eisner years will look like Disneyland compared to the fallout from the decisions made by Iger.
It's possible that the greed of robber barons is actually running out. What do you do when you have so much damn money?

We aren’t dealing with robber barons any more, but moral busybodies.

C.S.Lewis said:
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

We aren’t dealing with robber barons any more, but moral busybodies.
So that's what they evolve into? I thought they'd retire and start a charity or they'd just rot in an exorbitant mansion no one goes near. Instead, they decided to do good in their lives and ironically make things worse.

I'm all for women in these films but Kathleen can't write for shit and her weird white brunette british fetish is laughable at best. Felicity, Daisy, and Emilia were all poor choices. She should have been gone long ago when she said it wasn't yet time for women directors. She won't get ousted without a hefty payday unfortunately.
It's kind of funny of all the things they wanted to mention about Kaleesh was how they walked.
Also something tells me the artist is uncomfortable of giving bipeds digitrade feet, he even went out of his way to avoid them for drawing the Lasat. Instead we get this nice full page image instead

Also don't get me started on how the Togruta entry is a one page bio about Ahsoka tano.
While Shaak ti only gets like two sentences while Ahsoka gets four paragraphs.
Also they traced one from the old republic as well.

View attachment 1066337

and yes they have an entry on that creature Luke sucked on in TLJ. Overall a mixed bag.
View attachment 1066358
Ugh I fucking love Shaak Ti but of course they had to put Ahsoka..

In Disney I saw a specially designed pair of mouse ears that was designed by......Ashoka herself, Ashley Eckstein....she has her own feminism based fashion brand now *sigh*
The shit was $80 something bucks.

There you go! Turns out the Big Bad isn't Palpatine, Plagueis or any other Sith fuckass. It's the Vong! They intended to conquer the galaxy far far away for a long long time and part of why they didn't was that old Palps damn near united the galaxy against them and would have made conquering it costly as fuck if not outright impossible. Right when that damnedable Empire collapses, giving them a bit of hope, the Republic promptly fills the power vacuum. Not wanting to fight a united Republic the Vong use foul sciences to fleshcraft Snoke as a puppet specifically to gather the remaining remnants of the Empire and cause a civil war that will further destabilize the galaxy.
Now, Snoke dead, the Republic and Resistance shattered, their First Order tool no longer a major threat given the destruction of the Starkiller Base, the Vong unleash waves of genetically engineered cyborg drones onto the galaxy to finally conquer it and our intrepid heroes must find some way to stop them.

I'd watch it. I'd watch the fuck out of it.
