Shy Hard 2: Shy Harder

There are a variety of reasons people stay in abusive relationships. (Both men and women) It's not just because they're "in love". That's just a catch-all term for people who cannot understand their own feelings nor know how to convince others why they choose to remain.

These include (But not limited to):

- Financial dependence.
- Sex. (Good or bad)
- Emotional connection to another person. (Even if they have friends and family)
- Lack of self-confidence. = "No one else will want me." "I'm ugly." etc.
- For the kids. (Pro Tip: It's not really for the kids)
- Addiction, Stockholm syndrome, Emotional manipulation and blackmail.

It's illogical to stay with an abuser, but it all comes down to lack of self-confidence. Change is hard, as well as breaking the bad habits of putting down oneself and realizing that they do have self-worth. Some that stay with abusers do it because they are so broken down emotionally after being told over and over again that they're nothing, end up starting to believe it.

I fucking love these guys. When normal people have problems dating they think "huh mabye I should stop being such a douchbag and learn to play the quitar or something." When these guys can't get dates they write 1000 page Manifestos complete with complex sociological theories as to why they can't get their dicks wet. You can almost smell the autism through your computer.

Don't forget their completely unsubstantiated generalizations about every single country. Ex- "Poland was ruined by feminism, all the men are stupids. Women in Ecuador know their place. I should order one of them online." etc, etc.

That's the root of the problem, really. I think it is very apparent that they fail to see women as anything other than "something pretty i can stick my penis in". But instead of working on that, they put all this effort into building complex theories and explanations, which are nothing more than thinly veiled blaming, targeted at everything but themselves.

For someone who likes evolutionary psychology he's not making much sense. A lot of domestic abusers end up killing their wives/gfs and kids, how the fuck would that be a useful evolutionary adaptation

Wait wait wait. So @mooooo couldn't hack it in his MPhys (or MPhysPhil?) program and had to drop down to the bachelors track, graduating with a 2:2, which is basically a C average and fails to qualify one for most graduate programs or jobs in one's field. He had to pick up a one-year masters in software engineering from a program with low admissions standards in order to be employable. And meanwhile, he was picking on you to make himself feel better? What a charming fellow.

I'm legit annoyed by this, actually.
