What about white hair and alopecia though? I'll admit I didn't watch the interview so idk how this was brought up but my guess is their hair was dyed white. Which you can do even if you have alopecia, bleach is not "unsafe" for people who have alopecia.

Alopecia is not one size fits all. I have a super mild form that I get treatment for and never had more than a couple small dime sized patches go missing because of it.
For some people it all over hair loss in a matter of months and especially in teens it can be devastating.
Kai learned a lot from Grease and exploited a child's insecurity (one that seemed to be truly dealing with dysphoria on top of the alopecia so their self esteem was already non existent).

He has the same obligations anyone else has not to commit defamation, and because his reputation is as someone who actually hunts pedophiles for a living, and who has repeatedly caught them, many of whom were prosecuted, him saying someone is a pedophile and that he has physical evidence of them transmitting child pornography is going to be believed by the people hearing it.

I am pretty sure that there is a legal standard for "publishing" that is different than just "casual speech". When a newscaster goes on the air on a major network news show and says something, it's different than the same newscaster saying something in the street. My question isn't whether libel or slander has been committed. It's whether Chris Hansen on Dateline NBC saying something is legally different than if Chris Hansen YouTuber says something. From a practical standpoint, I doubt either Onion or Chris Hansen has enough money for any lawyer to start a lawsuit. I'm just looking for the line where publishing crosses over into casual speech.

I think there is a lot of puffing up and lying going on here on both sides. I don't think YouTube called Onion to take down his Shane Dawson videos. They would just delete the videos they wanted deleted. Onion can insult his ex's all day long and say things about them that aren't true and all he really risks is having his account deleted. And I don't think the FBI would work with Chris Hansen on an investigation if every few days he was talking about the case, posting interviews with witnesses and announcing that the FBI is involved. I think all of this bluff and blather is to churn up the waters and generate views. I suspect that the bar for libel and slander is very high on YouTube, and both sides can say pretty much whatever they want without much fear of legal action. The only risk is getting your channel deleted and losing your user base.

It's narcissist standard operating procedure to continually push their own (often delusional) narrative in order to avoid responsibility or consequences for their own actions. They always try to bully and gaslight everyone around them into either believing their version of events is the right one, or just plain getting tired of trying to argue with them and letting the narcissist have their way. It's so bizarre to me that she's still sticking with him when it seems like at best their relationship has dissolved to the point that they're clearly only tolerating each other now. I can't imagine they spend much time together. I'm just picturing life at the Swamp Shack is Lainey crying in her room, the kids locked up in a room with toys and maybe a box of crackers, and Greg screeching like a banshee in the basement and occasionally the hallways while the rest of the family tries to ignore it. Any "family outings" are spent in complete and utter silence barring the bare minimum of necessary communication.
