Part of the reason why Lucy looks so weird to me is because her clothes blend in with her skin, like do you ever see anyone wearing a hat that's the same color as their skin? I went into Photoshop and tried experimenting with the colors, but even then it still looks shit. I'm almost tempted to redesign these things.

wait it was wearing cloths other than the hat and tie looking thing? Thye do blend in a bit too well, the thing that made her look so weird to me is the edgy joker makeup and eye colors in conjunction with always looking cross-eyed.

I agree on that.

While I do love the Cheshire Cat stereotyping cause they can be fun, I feel like Lucy is way to fucking Edgy, plus she is actually way to small to make sense, since she is supposed to decapitate a creature like 100x her size.

Winifred is alright in some cases, I do enjoy the Eyeless look and the weird antlers, but the rest just screams fat fur along with being the prim Decapitation and Sub fetish, along with being the one being decapitated and abused by Lucy

Fleischer is just a Drake, that's it, with maybe more eyes than usual but that's it. I guess its ok, but it just seems bland to me.

Ludwig is alright, I love his bug focus and his weird skeleton/exoskeleton look. Feels like a good character design and the voice isn't that bad, one of the few solid characters from what I see.

Hyzenthlay design wise, is just blatantly a furry, and like Winifred is a punching bag to Lucy, cause she is genetically Inferior for some reason. Everyone in the series yells at her, even Fennah's Personal Stand in yells at her. Her design gets worse later on, gaining a dark red eye after getting hurt from Lucy and is stuck with it.

Fontaine is the most interesting Design wise, and is really solid personally. His character and design is really bright compared to the rest of the edgy characters, so he kinda lights up when hes in the series.

That covers the main cast, but the rest of them are just on different levels of awful or fap bait, but those are my thoughts.

He's right. I actually felt little bugs crawl under my skin after looking at that. That grin with the daggers for teeth just ruin everything.

From what I remember of actually watching the series, Hyzenthlay was the only remotely interesting character because she 1) wasn't a needlessly sadistic edge lord and 2) had an interesting concept, being an Earth/Kivowhatever artificial hybrid experiment thing. Although I'm pretty sure she was conceived when one of Fennah's edgebeasts straight-up fucked a squirrel.

Fleischer just seemed tired of everyone's shit, which worked well against the rest of the cast. He'd be my second favorite if this series was any good.

That is true, he was kinda refreshing, its just that the focus was more on the edgy characters.

Same goes with Fontaine, he has a laid back design and attitude, and is bright colorful, and actually interesting to look at. Shame that the focus seems to be on worse Characters.

Also if my memory corrects me, I think Hyzenthlay is a hybrid between a Squirrel and Lucy's DNA, which is why Lucy abuses the fuck out of the poor thing, and also explains how she has a Edgy red eye. So basically Lucy fucked a Squirrel, or Ludwig used Lucy's "genetic Material" to infuse inside a Squirrel and birthed her.

Both concepts are rather Iffy

I agree. Those two characters seem to be the least awful of the bunch given how they are not overt assholes like everyone else. I usually don't have a problem with a group of ragtag douchebags hanging out and teasing each other, but the series literally has no plot so it's just watching a bunch of needless unpleasantness for no payoff.

I didn't know she had Lucy's DNA, but squirrelfucking seems right up her alley, probably followed by decapitating said squirrel.

One other thing that comes to mind, excuse my rambling. Blue/orange morality CAN work for otherworldly beings, but not like this. If you're trying to create a world of amoral, violent creatures in the same vein as nature (because nature is fucking brutal sometimes), giving them higher thought processes (or making them all 200IQ geniuses like Fennah does with his precious edgebeasts) kind of negates that amorality. Animals just do things, they don't actively choose to be sadomasochistic fucks like the Kivos.

An example of this that does (imo) work is the True Fae in Changeling: the Lost. They're chaotic, sadistic creatures, and it works because they're the antagonists. Half the time they don't even make an appearance, they're just terrifying concepts always lurking at the back of a character's mind. They're a driving plot force, not the main characters.

Edit: Another good point that was brought up, most of the main cast are just straight up unpleasant. It's fun to watch assholes get their comeuppance, not to just watch them be assholes over and over. Some of the older episodes had Fennah's character playing the dry straight man to their edge, but that never went anywhere.

Dammit, there's hints of a good idea here, it's just frustratingly buried under piles of narcissim and bullshit.
