Even if Sam were to go back and try to humanize his asshole characters a bit more, it's already almost nigh impossible given their character designs. Lucy especially is pure nightmare fuel. She looks like some Lovecraftian abomination you'd see from the netherworld, not a compelling, lovable protagonist people can root for.

I think the idea of a sadistic alien race of intellects is pretty neat. But when they all look like deviantart barf and are responsible for nearly every single human conflict/accomplishment in history, they lose the ability to be moved by things, be impressionable and relatable. You can't take something with clashing colors and nightmare-teeth and tell me that it's a Stitch--destructive and dangerous while also having an appealing alien model.

Here's something I don't understand about the backstory. The destruction of the Kivouack's home world is what caused the big bang. all these characters predate that.
So this brings up a lot of questions.

• What did they do after the big bang but before planets formed?
• Why not just take over Earth from the vary start if they're so strong?
• Humans would be seen as weak to them and their society hates weakness, why allow humans to live?
• Why involve themselves in human history?
• Why are they just getting active now if they've been around billions and billions of years.

Given how big a fan he is of Bionicile you'd think he'd take a page out of it and create a Universe Bible to iron out those issues but if his current content is any indication, he probably only enjoyed the series on a superficial level. Bare in mind his mentality regarding the rules of animation: "If it looks cool, I'm putting it in". The same applies to his writing in that if it sounds cool, he'll go with it without dedicating much thought into the how's and why's of it.

I watched the video with these two. The mafia spider dude is pretty neat, not gonna lie. It's at least different from the furry bait and looks like it could be an actual alien. Fennah proves he can come up with some cool ideas when he doesn't inject fetishes into them.

I can't really say the same for the thing next to the spider. Its tiny feet bother me and don't look like they would support the weight of its giant hips. There's no weight when it walks. At least give it flat feet before it breaks its ankles.

Compare the pinstripes on the bug guys sleeves and the pinstripes on a real suite and you'll see what I mean.

And I agree on one side it looks like he has 4 arms but on the other side it's 3. It's hard to tell.
