Thanks for admiring that first image. It was kind of a random thing in my mind without direction or purpose, but glad to see it works too.

The "Out of Control" newsroom pic also reminds me a lot of the opening to the original Dawn of the Dead or to the famous "I'm as mad as hell!" scene in Network.

Also sorry to talk about Ed Edd n' Eddy but snub the dude with an actual EEE avatar, @Th3Gr3atTac0 . You've got some neat creatures there but I'm just not into Pokemans anymore.

No joke, consider expanding into your own universe instead of making fanfiction of that level of quality? Fanfic almost feels like a lobster trap for artists these days. Use that shit for yourself, damnit!

Oh, I got my own original things going. I just love making my own Fakemon on the side, though I totally understand where you're coming from.

Just to show I can make my own content, here's one of my OCs, and my namesake:

That's a really fun design! Kinda gives me the vibe of a character from a LoZ-meets-Cuphead style game from whom you can buy stuff but will turn into a hard-as-nail secret boss if you attempt to steal any of his goods.

I was attempting lineless art for the first time, but then Sai flattened all of my layers and ruined it so I'm salty (:_(View attachment 1065554
If it's any consolation, the resulting grumpy Kiwi-Chan of yours is kawaii as fuck.

I can barely draw OPL tier stuff, and I would really like to draw cartoon/comic styles of art. What’s a way to go about learning how to do that that’s not the typical art teacher ‘sit under a tree and just draw everything you see. Let the magic flow from your pen to the page and create’ type stuff that my autismo brain can’t wrap itself around.
I just want to draw cartoons and shit, how can I learn to not suck at that?

Practice, practice, practice.
Find some how to draw books and read them. Follow their lessons. Try to reproduce their drawings without tracing them. A good starter to find (or bootleg, seeing how it's been out of print) is Figure Drawing for all it's Worth by Andrew Loomis.

I would vouch for the Loomis book too. An earlier starter to try is his "Fun with a Pencil".

It's been awhile since I've posted in this thread, and I can't really remember or find the post I did make in here, so I'm not sure what can be posted here or not. Is there a craft thread or can I post pics?

Finally getting the hang of Corel Painter 20XX, thanks to Humble Bundle. Will never beat oils though, and this needs a lot of work to not look as rushed as it was. (only really spent time on the face, rest was just very rushed and virtual pastels on top, especially the top and the hair...

For something more traditional:

24 scalpel blades, (they go blunt surprisingly quickly when they are doing paper), one piece of A1 black craft paper, and 18 hours of meticulous cutting, to keep the paper as one sheet... Everything is cut out and still one sheet of paper, no glue, no laser cutting either. The idea was to make it look like it had come out of my sketchbook, and just been scribbled in, but because of that it took a good week to plan it out to make sure I didn't accidentally cut a bit off while executing it. Still did, the H and I on the "scrawled" Alphabet at the bottom ended up being a weird hole because a bit came off... So did a few other bits....
