Shipman could have been brought to justice and stopped much sooner. Prescribing pethidine for himself might have been a wake-up call. Instead he was rehabilitated and even featured as an expert on mentally ill people on a documentary. He’s believed to have killed a 4 year old girl in his early career.
It’s high time med students were subject to psychological screening and ongoing scrutiny as part of their training to weed out pathologically dangerous degenerates.

No apology for assuming I was talking about Harrop when I clearly wasn't? Yeah, par for the course for you, I think.
Shipman did a good job of hiding his crimes, but ultimately faced a court, making a lie of the claim that "in the UK Medical Doctors and Nurses are incapable of doing wrong".

I'm afraid this is what happens when the NHS is seen as a religion and the people that work for it clergy.
Shipman was investigated by the Police but only after he started tinkering with patients wills. There was plenty of evidence throughout his career that a competent supervisory body could have had a look at.

His political leanings really show his true character, he was a Tory, got a bit of traction on Twitter and realised being a Tory wasn't a good look among Troon Twitter and switched to the greens, then corbynism became the Twitter cult and he switched to hard left Labour, now corbynism is taking a kicking he's suddenly decided he's moderate Labour.
There's no issue with being a floating voter to be fair, it usually shows an ability to listen to reason and change your mind, but that's not what Harrop has done. What he's done is drastically change his views overnight once he sees which way the tide is turning, and instantly called anyone who holds the views he himself held the day before an idiot who knows nothing.
He will support whichever political leaning gives him the best opportunity to be nasty to people whilst maintaining a veneer of compassion, Corbynism was perfect for those purposes.

that the GMC is a guild is exactly my opinion. We are desperate for more doctors to be trained and they keep numbers low in order to control supply and dictate conditions and pay.
Harrop’s family destruction fantasies remind me of family destruction killers. He clearly has a serious hatred of women and families and that alone is a Red flag. He has no restraint, tact or professional awareness of when to shut up.
To whoever said about psych screening medical students - this is also something I agree with. I’ve contributed to training medical students and in every intake, every single one, there were a few who made my flesh crawl.
