Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

No, that was Rian's idea. He wanted to have a character that looked like he/she wasn't from that universe.
Our only source for that is Johnson himself. So take it with a MASSIVE grain of salt. Why? Because everything he says is designed to cater to Kennedy's politics. If he out and out says "I made her frumpy because Kennedy wanted it", it looks baaaad. So, while his own reasoning could be true, it could also be working reasoning backwards to avoid an ideological pitfall.

The evidence for why you should consider this over it being Johnson's plan? The fact she... doesn't look out of place. Bland and boring, yes. But her suit fits with background characters, she doesn't do anything terribly out of setting (Though plenty cringe worthy), and she is never USED as a person out of place. In fact, she is used to exposit backstory of the universe TO Finn, making her very much a part of it. Thus, in execution, Johnson's claim is at odds with his statement.

I've also never heard why Holdo was dressed like she was off to a night at the opera. She was a freakin' admiral, not exactly setting an example for her fleet. Or maybe a very bizarre one. I'm assuming some sort of retcon to the cultural norms of her home planet or something, but I've never seen it put that way.

Officially, she was raised on a planet with INCREDIBLY strict regulations and norms as to personal appearance. Her hair and garments are meant to buck the trend and be avant garde.

Which is several levels of stupid.

like how the Chancellor was kidnapped in Episode III

That never needed to be explained. Its war. Coruscant is being seiged. The viewer can put two and two together.

The things that need to be explained are those things which can't be deduced or things which contradict prior established facts. For example, how the Resistance went from destroying the StarKiller base, killing millions of First Order soldiers, to being completely annihilated less than a week later.

It was for a fleet of troons.

It was less than 24 hours, I thought?

So I'm gonna remember the 2010s as the decade where the single best film franchise became a laughingstock in all of about five years.

How about you?
More like "how a multimillion dollar company pissed away all their good will with a franchise they bought in 5 years" the amount of people that had hope disney would do it right was insane. I think the tide started to turn as soon as they gave the game rights to EA and closed down Lucas arts
I still hope they don't fuck up Indiana Jones and the Retirement Home's Cain since I even liked PART-TIME and IMO its pretty hard to fuck up Indy

There's a nuked fridge that says otherwise.
Part time is not as good as the first 3 but I still liked it enough, remove the CGI and the ay shit and the cold war aspect was still fun to watch, they should of leaned more on that aspect if george wasn't so gun hoe on "put in AYs steven, make it a B movie, LOL". it's far from the fuck ups star wars has had in the past.

I've never understood why the fridge scene was considered the "worst" scene in the film when the whole idea of filming an Indiana Jones film with a geriatric Harrison Ford WAS the worst part.
for me it was the fact that were are supposed to believe that indy's kid somehow ended up being shia labouf

The decade where Disney raped a beloved franchise with their own ego and personal socio-political nonsense and instead of making money on it they wasted more money than what they paid for to rape this franchise with over 2.2 billion dollars in losses and wasting over 4 billion (exactly what they paid to get this shit) on an awful and broken park that some genius decided not to base on anything from the franchise itself while throwing in Rey and a blue dangerhair on a 24 hour period.
Which is several levels of stupid.
It gets even worse when you actually check out the bios for Holdo's planet (one of these entries is in a Kennedy-approved book called "Women of the Galaxy"). It is literally the Californian college campus planet, strictly vegan (they prefer soy and that's not a joke), like writing shitty poetry, crying in public is considered a virtue, women are dominant in numbers and roles, they are ruled by a Council of Mommies, they openly practice astrology, and they have a juvenile and naive world view and simplistic view of justice that doesn't take into account the nature of consequences such as if anyone (even if its a powerful political delegate or crime lord) shows up to their territory they will capture them if they have slaves without even realizing the dangerously stupid repercussions of this (but its fine and it all works out because Disney). The only thing Holdo rebelled against was her people's fashion sense which was grey clothing only and no hair dyes, which was honestly an almost psychotic habit of Holdo's who had to change her hair color every day or she would freak out, to the point of killing small animals and plants and using their bodily juices just to change her hair, but even her planet is now adopting that trait in honor of her fucking death. Also her planet has more suns than Tatooine and Riflor but its fine...

Mark Hamill has been pandering to Reylos and FinnPoes on Twitter and justifying their idiotic behavior. Now these shippertards will never shut the fuck up or stop acting entitled as fuck. They've been going extra crazy over Ren's death and how "insulting" it was that Reylo died and FinnPoe never existed. FFS of all the things they could be complaining about, they choose idiotic romances from bland characters that never should've even existed in the first place.

Hamill has basically little else to lose since his legacy was in the hands of progtards who screech about white people to small children they claim their pilfered fictional universe is made for, and who had passive aggressively crossed his face out in red ink. I think he stopped caring where his timber fell long ago.

At least he always has being the best joker to his name

Honestly, this trilogy should have been all about Kylo Ren's path to the light while Rey was in the path of darkness. It should have been the story of a "Dark knight" slowly becoming a "Paladin" akin to Final Fantasy 4 while Rey slowly becomes power hungry with ep 8 being the one where she tell she HIM to let the past die and that he should join her to destroy it all...He would refuse saying he can't do this anymore...he knows he can't fix what he has done but he intends to put an end to the evil he helped before. Then I think Rey could meet with her grandpa (if we are going with that) while Kylo is left for dead after Rey beats him, revealing he truly can't embrace the darkness like her...
Kylo would be saved by Luke as the new Supreme Leader Rey Palpatine takes over. Her first demand is to turn it into her "Final Order".
Ep 9 would be Ben having to become an icon of the light once more to defeat or redeem Rey and "Finish what vader started"

Kill Palpatine once and for all.

Kylo: I can't defeat her...
Luke: no...Kylo ren cannot. Its impossible...Ben Solo however...may have a chance...
Kylo:.....can you forgive me, uncle?
Luke: *handles him a blue kyber Crystal * your mother's...She wanted Ben to have it when he was ready...and you are.
Ben:.......*holds it*.....thank you, master Luke...
Luke: I'm your uncle first. Don't forget that.
*the force theme playing in the background*
